My son is on a special diet b/c he cannot tolerate any artificial ingredients (dyes, flavors and preservatives). Last year we had a bad experience in DCA at one of the restaurants. We ordered cheese pizza that appeared to read clean but my son had a severe reaction to the pizza. So ate most of the rest of our meals outside the resort or he ate dry burger (with a bun we provided) if we needed to dine at the park. We also did have 2 fabulous allergen free meals at Carnation Cafe. So this year we have booked 3 breakfasts at Carnation Cafe but we need ideas for lunches/dinners. It appears that the citrus chicken at Rancho Del Zocalo might be safe after speaking to the chef. And I noticed that PCH Grill offers wood fired pizzas so he could probably do ok with a wood fired pizza. I still need to talk to the chef to find out. So how far is PCH grill from the parks. (We are staying at a good neighbor hotel btw). OR are we better off eating at Naples or Napolini for pizza. (I know I still need to talk to the chef) but are these restaurants more accessable from the parks. TIA!

Have you every walked thru DTD to the DLH? The distance to walk to the PPH/PCH Grill is actually a shorter walk if you cut thru the GCH.

That being said.......We also have children with allergies. We called Disney Dining who put us in touch with one of the head chefs with the Disneyland Resort. He advised us to speak with the chef or manager at each location to explain our situation. They have a large notebook of every ingredient used in every dish. He also warned us not to take the word from a helpful wait staff as they don't know everything & have accidentally advised incorrectly.

Every chef came out to speak with us & personally made a special dish for our daughter (who was 3 at the time) & never charged us. I can't say you'd get free meals everytime....but they are very serious about making sure guest with food allergies are taken care of. You just have to speak up.

We love the PCH Grill....it's a smaller, less crowded restaurant & we've always had very good service.

Good luck!!

Since you're staying offsite, have you thought about eating breakfast at your hotel (doing a grocery delivery from Vons) and then doing lunch at Carnation Cafe instead of breakfast? That would take care of some of your meal issues right there.

Although I have a child with severe allergies (I carry epi-pens for him), I don't have much advice other than speak directly with the a chef at each location. No matter how insistent the waitstaff is that they can answer your question, make sure you speak with a chef.

The Chef from PCH grill called me back and he was great! It does appear that the pizza will accommodate my son's allergies. I also talked to the chef at Napolini and the pizza seems "clean" there too. As long as we stick to cheese pizza. I may book more hotel restaurant meals seems they seem like they are better equipped to meet my son's dietary needs. DisSarahK Carnation Cafe can meet his needs at bfast but not lunch. Plus he does better is he can have protein at bfast so the eggs at CC fit the bill.

Diznee Luver which restaurants made special meals for your daughter? I would love to know. After my conversation with the Chef from PCH grill, I
may book more meals at the DLR hotels.

Thanks!

The kid's pizza at PCH is REALLY good, by the way. DS gets it every time! He loves putting the sauce and cheese on. :)

My DD4 loves the kid's pizza at PCH grill also. It is a great restaurant. They go out of their way for children there and my DD loved the looking at the decor while waiting for her food. (BTW, the bathroom is decorated really cute..a beach theme, I know ....who looks at bathrooms? lol :confused3:rotfl:)I also think the menu was pretty cheap compared to other restaurants. I did not think the walk was too bad if you cut through GCH.
