Child using adult ticket??

I have sort of an odd question. I purchased the $99 tickets from Undercover Tourist thanks to the post on this board with the heads up on the price increase. I would really like to go later this year, but being a realist, I understand that may not happen. With that in mind, I purchased an adult ticket for my son who is currently 8 so that he would not "outgrow" the ticket before our next trip.

If the stars align and we manage to make it to Orlando this year, will he be able to use the adult ticket even though he is not over 9??

Thanks!

Adult and child tickets for that promotion were the same price but in any case they wouldn't stop a child from using an adult ticket. If they were priced differently a conscientious TM might point out that you could save money by using the child's ticket but they wouldn't forbid you to use it if that's what you wanted.

We've used adult tickets for children at WDW before with no problem at all. Sometimes we would rather just use a ticket we have instead of buying a new one, especially if there was a price jump in between purchases so the new child's ticket would cost more than the old adult one.

REally? I know the policy is not to allow it. I asked about that too because I have some old tickets that are adults and the girl over there who works in the ticket area, siad no you can't use it. But I would assume it might depend on what CM is working at the time.... and how much they are paying attention as well.

We just visited US/IOA January 20-25. We purchased a package that included four adult tickets. We needed tickets for us and two of our boys (10 & 6)-the two yr old did not need a ticket.

We could use the adult tickets but it did take an extra minute to get thru the gates. They wanted the kids to scan their fingers and their fingers were too little-they had to use their thumbs. It worked and after the first few days we had the gate entry down.

Poohbug is correct. Children can always use adults tickets but it will ask for a fingerscan.

We just returned and used adult tickets for both of our kids. My logic was to get adult tickets when it cost the same as the child tickets to give us flexibly. There were no problems with it at all. They did have my oldest do the finger scan - he's 6 years old. They did not make my 3 year old do a finger scan. Even the Disney parks had my oldest do the finger scan but not the younger child.

Thank you all for your help! Now, if all other factors in my life will kindly fall into place, it will make the answers to this question extremely important because this fall we'll be headed to US/IOA!
