I may have one of my young nieces come visit me soon.

Question - to prove FL residency for children, what kind of proof is needed? She is 9 so she does not have a drivers license or anything like that.

TIA

I am not 100%, but I am betting that their parents or a florida resident with proof would have to pick up the tickets for them.

Well we are FL residents so we could do that, but I am wondering if she needs to provide some kind of proof of residency to get the child ticket. :confused3

According to Disney's website, to obtain tickets for FL residents you need to provide:

Proof of Florida Residency

Proof of Florida residency is required—you must provide any of the following:

* Florida driver′s license
* Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)
* Florida voter′s registration card with corresponding picture ID
* A college ID for a Florida college
* Florida-based military ID

Obviously, a child wouldn't have any of those things, so I believe it's safe to say you shouldn't have any problems as long as the adults have the required documents.

Thanks! I was just wondering since her folks won't be with us....but we have FL AP passes so we can definitely prove our residency.

DH's brother bought FL resident tickets for my children. He needed to know their dates of birth and full names. This was, however, 3 years ago. My understanding is many grandparents buy FL resident tickets for grandchildren often.

ETA--I think you personally woulf have to handle the ticket transaction. If I remember correctly, we gave Dave the cash to buy them.

These are the official rules:

Florida Resident tickets are only available to actual Florida Residents and cannot be purchased for out-of-state family or friends.

An adult Florida Resident may purchase Florida Resident media for more than one Florida Resident from any location that provides an exchange certificate and not an actual ticket.

Children under the age of 18 are not required to provide proof of Florida residency if they are accompanied by an adult with valid proof of Florida residency

If the Guest has an exchange certificate, a valid form of Florida ID will be required when the exchange certificate is redeemed for the actual pass

One ticket only per valid proof of Florida residence (a Florida resident may buy tickets for minors in the party)

Exchange Certificates may say:

"After sale..., may not be transferred except as a gift." This means that the certificate may be given as a gift, so long as the recipient meets the defined Florida residency criteria.

"Purchase and redemption of this exchange certificate requires proof of Florida Residency."

The following items are the only documents accepted as proof of Florida Residency:
* Valid Florida State Drivers License
* Valid Florida State issued ID Card with Florida Address
* Valid Florida Voter’s Registration Card with the Guest's name and address with corresponding photo ID
* Valid Florida University / College Student ID
* Valid Military ID stationed at one of the Florida Military Bases listed below:
(List of bases removed as unneeded)

I'v been many time is last few yrs.

The only thing you need is the child. Not joking they have to be right there with you.

Now my kids last name is the same as mine so they have never said anything to me. plus I'm sure they see the last 3 times I'v went they were with me.

But I'm betting with step children last name being different would not rase to many questions
