it was just a question posed, I for one understand where stu is comming from. I adore, love Disney, and cant wait for our holiday at the end of the year. But when buying tickets and all of a sudden my 11 yr old is classed as needing a adult priced ticket, no I dont understand it....she will be having a adult priced ticket. She will not benefit from all the rides cos basically, like some kids, she doesnt like the 'big' rides. But we pay the adult price!

I think sometimes when people mention freedom of speech they mean only if they agree with it. Everyone is entitle to their views whether other people like it or not.

How is giving our opinion on his question posed here not letting him have his 'freedom of speech"? He gave his opinion and we gave ours. Period.

Your 11 can do everything at Disney whether they want to or not. A pregnant woman, wheelchair person can't do everything but they also pay the full price. Life isn't always fair. Get over it.

Here at the Walt Disney World Underground News service, we have lots of questions! do I REALLY need to pay full price when I can get away with paying half-price? Does it hurt the economy when I buy a half-priced ticket for a full-priced person? Do trolls like to eat spam?

Has to be a cut off spot someplace....we all know where it is. If it were at 13, then people would complain when their child turned 13!! Puleeze!!! That's the rule. My dd is extremely tall for her age. I got some pretty funny looks from people last summer when she used her childrens' pass for the last time. She turned 10 in Oct, so it's adult prices now. I just plan accordingly. Of course, I set a good example for her also by letting her have the sleeping bag on the air mattress at AllStars when the other 5 kids have to sleep on the bare floor. And she can use her POR mug at AllStars of course!! I mean, really...we paid for it, we should get to use it. Come on people, get over it....rules is rules. IF you insist on breaking them, please don't come to the boards looking for validation because you're too poor, you've paid enough already, the rule is stupid, etc, etc, etc!!!

OK then, maybe the Disney Company should go back to ABCDE tickets. Because with your reasoning, I shouldn't pay "adult" price as I don't like all the rides, either. But I would be able to complain because in the ticket book there was only one E ticket and lots of As. I hate Teacups, an A ride. Oooooh, I know, lets do it like the carnivals, you buy a string of paper tickets and then each ride has it's own price.

If you don't want to pay full price for your child, that is your busisness. Unfortunately as a Shareholder it is also mine. The ticket rules are there because someone at The Disney Company determined that by age 10, most children were tall enough to ride all the rides, thus they should pay the higher rate. Ability to ride and desire to ride are two different things.

I think that is the bottom line.

I'm sure many people lie about their child's age -- but I personally would not do it. Its not worth the few bucks I would save -- my child would have to be involved in the lie, and that is not a place that I want to go to.

As for ripping off Disney,give me a break.
However much we love to visit WDW,and we travel 4500 miles to do it,I do think that Disney prices are somewhat high,IMHO

I personally don't think morals enter the case as to what anyone is charged for anything, anywhere, if legal, including what age a company decides to set the break point for child/adult admissions to a theme park. And what does driving or drinking have to do with theme park admissions?

If you think the prices are too high, save the world, stay home, visit the Thames or watch the changing of the guard, those are free, and 4,500 miles closer.
