I was just wondering how many people out there, assuming that their 10 year is small for their age, would purchase a child ticket instead of an adult one.

I for one would do it and have to admit doing it in the past.

My powers give me negative feelings about this thread. I sense trouble.

My answer? I still get in on a child ticket! I'm a small lady and I just have a friend push me in on a stroller. Saves me a TON of money I tell you!

i don't think that i would or could for that matter! My ds's are very big for there age. my ds just turned 9 and he looks 11 and ds6 looks like he is 8. I could probably do this with dd2 but will probably just go ahead and buy her a ticket when we go down next summer, because i think she will be big enough to do a lot of things.

Be warned...you'll probably be flamed.

It's wrong to pass your child off for a younger age. Even though it IS extra money, why cheat someone out of their prices?

The day Maddy turned 3, she received an annual pass to Disney. She wasn't 2 anymore, so she wasn't free anymore.

I'm not touching this one with a 100 foot pole!!!!!!:scared:

Oh boy, here we go again. Soon this will be moved to the debate board as it's gonna get nasty.

Why, or why do people post on a PUBLIC board asking if they can get away with something that is obviously wrong? I'll never understand that.

You know Disney's policy. Follow it. What you are suggesting is even worse that passing off a 3 year old as a 2 year old because your 10 year old is old enough and smart enough to know exactly what you are up to and will learn accordingly.

It's lying and stealing. You decide for yourself. Don't ask here if you don't want to hear some negative responses because YOU WILL!

As Sgt. Shultz would say: "I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing"!:scared:

Ditto.

MaryAnn,who said anything about NOT wanting any negative responses.

I made this thread for a reason,as it seems to me that a lot of folk are hypocritical and will never admit to doing anything immoral whatsoever, even when thinking deep down "Oh ,I wish my child looked a bit younger then we could get child tickets".

I personally think it immoral that any child at 10 years of age should pay an adult price,no matter what.
Lets face it,cant drive until 16 and cant drink alcohol until 21

As for ripping off Disney, give me a break.
However much we love to visit WDW,and we travel 4500 miles to do it,I do think that Disney prices are somewhat high,IMHO

When I said "Don't ask here if you don't want to hear some negative responses because YOU WILL", I meant it as a warning that if you get bothered by negative responses, then don't post the question in the first place. I didn't say you specifically didn't want negative responses...

If you "think it's immoral that any child at 10 year of age should pay an adult price no matter what", then don't go. It's so simple.

So you are admitting that you started this thread to start trouble when you say: "I made this thread for a reason, as it seems to me that a lot of folk are hypocritical and will never admit to doing anything immoral whatsoever, even when thinking deep down "Oh ,I wish my child looked a bit younger then we could get child tickets"." Then why in the Community board? Why not the debate board?

Isn't that special.

For me it comes down to setting an example for my kid - really. I'm NOT going to be hypocritical and tell you that I don't break rules. I'll be honest and tell you that it's because I don't want my kid CATCHING me breaking the rules. Because I don't want him going through his childhood questioning and analyzing each rule he encounters to independently determine whether said rule applies to him (which is exactly what you're talking about doing here.) His rules are established for his safety and it's vital that he follows them.

Lead by example.

Remember...don't feed the trolls! or for those who find that offensive, those persons behaving in a troll-like manner.

Who in the world doesn't think at least once that they WISH their child were either a bit younger so they could get a cheaper price, or taller so they could ride a ride? There's a difference between WISHING and DOING. Even though I WISH I could get Maddy free into WDW, I DO pay to get her in. It's only right, and it's only fair.

Just because you're travelling 4,500 miles to go to WDW doesn't entitle you to get your child in cheaper because they look younger. THAT'S immoral.:sad2:

I know, I know. You are right. I have to control the urge!!

I agree with you, Stu, but why stop there? I think $8.50 is too much to pay for a movie ticket, so the next time I'll buy a ticket for one movie and stay the entire day going from movie to movie. How about gas prices? The gas stations shouldn't be able to change prices in mid tank. The gas that's in their tanks was bought at a cheaper price. I'm going to fill up, then pay them last week's price. I'm also going to show my kids all these tricks on how to bypass all these pesky rules. They're just made to be broken, right?

Where's that tongue in cheek smilie when you need it?

1. It's not immoral for them to charge whatever price they see fit. Welcome to America...that's free enterprise.

2. You - and I think many people - have a problem with the terminology "adult ticket." I do think Disney should consider changing the term to "full price" ticket. Granted, 10 year olds are not adults. Just people who are of an age where Disney feels they should no longer be given a discount for being a very young child, see what I mean?

3. If you think something is priced out of your budget, you need to consider not buying it (your Disney trip.) We do it every day.
