Can someone explain this to me? I read about it in an earlier thread, but I'm still confused. We have a 2 year old and a 6 year old with us-the 2 year old obviously won't go on some of the rides.
We will have grandma and grandpa with us, so maybe we wont need the swap, but just in case...how does it work and which rides can I use it for?
Thx:)

When you go at the front where they measure and say hey we are doing a swap. They give you this little pass you go sit down with the kid and your spouse or whoever goes in line. Than she comes back you show em the pass.. and BAM fast pass through. You can also do this for groups of 4 with one young toddler have to go than 2 stay with 2 passes. This has been my experience.

I think pretty much any ride with a height restriction (Im not sure on that though) you can use rider swap. From memory all you do is talk to the CM at the beginning of the line and tell them you want to swap. They usually want to see the other adult and child (children) and then they give the waiting adult a pass. One of you goes through the line (some have single rider lines, and I think some let you go through the FP line but I forget for sure on that) and rides the ride. Then you come out the exit and your partner then gets to go in with only a little wait. Some rides like SM have you go into the exit to get to the ride, and others have you go through the FP or single rider lines or something like that. It was pretty handy on our last trip with a toddler.

The first group goes through whatever line they would normally be able to go in (Standby or FP if you have FPs). The returning parent usually goes through the FP line (only exception I've seen to this is Matterhorn which doesn't have a FP line goes through the exit). The Rider Swap pass is good for 2 people. So the 6 year old could actually go twice: once with initial group and again with the parent that stayed with the 2 yr old using the rider swap.

We have done this a lot. It's true that the person must be able to see the child that cannot ride. You can't just walk up and say you are doing a swap.

Thank you for posting this, I was curious about it as well. We're going in may and also have a 6 y/o and a 2 y/o, and although my husband will be happy to skip the mountain rides, we will both fight over who gets to take DS on Star Tours hehe. The swap passes are a genius idea and I love how convenient Disney makes it for us! :thumbsup2
