Child Swap

At HM you stand in that line first and go through the turn stile up near the cemetary/front door. We waited an hour- the whole family in the heat holding our little girl so we could swap. Our first (and laast) attempt.

Ok that makes sense -!!

For those reading, always ask before you enter a line (fast pass or standby) if they offer rider swap and how they handle it. Even if you did that ride yesterday then ask again today because different cm's sometimes handle it different ways. In my experience only rides with a height restriction offer rider switch and only if you have a child who dosen't meet the requirement with you. We did 3 of 4 parks with my 4yo nephew and 2yo neice and found it varied from day to day, attraction to attraction but always worked well. We made the mistake once of sending sil and dear neice for an ice cream before asking about the swap pass only to be asked where the "baby" was so be sure to get the pass before you send the other half off to the meeting spot.

My rule of thumb, if a child is to small to ride you can usually get a rider swap ticket to use later in the FP line for up to 3 people or wait at the exit and switch with the other party, most rides now use the rider swap ticket. If a child is tall enough to ride but chooses not to you will all need to wait the line and switch at the exit. In this case using a fast pass works better!

Wow! I am really sorry some of you had such a hard time with the Swap!
We didn't do the swap on HM because DH didn't want to go through,
so that would be one I don't know about.

However, at MGM on the "Movies" ride there isn't a height restriction
that I know of, we just knew there were things that would frighten DS
and that's why he didn't ride it.
DH, DS and I went up to the first CM (that was great advice given, BTW,
always ask the first CM you meet) and asked if we could swap.
The CM said 'sure' and advised me to wait my turn through the ropes
until I reached the next CM & let her know I was swapping.
DH & DS were told they could wait outside the theatre.
The next CM then went down & told the CM at the entrance,
I only had to wait one more short time through the ropes w/everyone else
when the entrance keeper motioned for me to come down & allowed
me to go ahead and sit in the next available car.
I rode the ride, when I exited I told DH whom to speak to,
and he was treated the same way.

We never had a problem, I'm sorry some people did... :(
