Ok here is the scenario. We grab fastpasses for everyone in our group of ToT. There is myself, DW, and DS's 8,5, & 5 (10 month DS won't count). DS's 5 & 5 aren't old enough, brave enough for ToT. DS 8 is very adventurous.

So now we have 5 fastpasses and DW and myself will child swap with DS 8. How many times could we ride? If DW and DS 8 ride first and hand over 2 fastpasses. Then I swap with DW and ride with DS 8. Do I now turn over a fastpass and then DS 8 has to give them another (so now we have 2 fastpasses left over)? Or he doesn't give them another and then we have 3 remaining fastpasses? This is where it gets all confusing to me! :confused3

I would guess that he doesn't have to use another fastpass. I'm not sure though. Just ask when you get there.

So you have 5 Fastpasses for 3 people. You'd use 2 for DW and 8 year old, then you have 2 more for DH and 8 year old, leaving one left.

If you ask them about parent swap, depending on the CM working, you might get a parent swap Fastpass good for up to 3 people to be used any time OR you will more then likely be told that since your kids are old enough and tall enough to ride that you all must go in line and swap at the ride itself (that is our experience). In this case, I don't know if they'll let you not use a fastpass the second time for your 8 year old.

We have never used parent swap for DD when she was tall enough to ride it. We use Fastpass line for those rides and just switch outside the ride. DH waits outside with younger DD while I and my older DD go on the ride in the Fastpass line and then I come out and he rides with older DD using Fastpass again; we've never had to wait long.

Get your Fastpasses and then ask the CM working how they handle parent swap and go from there.

We went in Dec. and we always asked the cm first, how the rider swap worked, before getting any fast pass. The CMs would give DH and I each a fastpass and said we could take up to three people with us. Therefore, DGM got to ride lots of things twice. Also, ask where you should swap. On test track we were told to come in the back way and we wouldn't have to wait in the fastpass line again. As with everything Disney it seems CM's and rules vary with whoever you talk to. :thumbsup2

Up to 3 people can ride with the child swap ticket. We always got one from the CM standing in front of the Fast Pass line. We didn't do ToT Child Swap because my mom just stayed with DD. She didn't want to ride it. But we did do Child Swap on Splash, Soarin, and Test Track and it was handled the same on all of those rides. :sulley:

oh my gawd the whole thing sounds like one of those math problems you have in school...wahhhhh!!!!!
