Child Swap - Can you delay the return ride?

So how exactly does child swap work...do they give you something that you turn in for the second ride. Is it time stamped? Are all rides child + 3? What about Test Track...would that be just child + 2 since that is what fits in a row.

The time question is more aimed at seeing if I could take DS3 to ride something else (after signing up for child swap together at ride), meet up with our party later, and sometime later in the day ride the ride I skipped with DS8, because DS3 wasn't tall enough.

I'm just trying to figure out what to do with DS3 FP+ reservations since he isn't able to ride much of what DS8 is riding all of the time (might not be 40"). I am thinking of booking different rides for myself + DS3, and then riding (with child-swap) with DS8 (he and DH would have initial FP for ride).

Yes you can use it later in the day.

It's like a FP, with no time frame on it. You can definitely come back later.
