Child Size Rain Poncos?

They are behind the counters until it rains and then they all "magically" appear next to the registers.

They are about $6 each. They are clear with a mickey on the back.

I was able to find child size ponchos at wal-mart and Target for $5 each, but I would rather have a disney one for $6 if we end up neding one. The up side to purchasing one of these from walmart or Target would be that they are bright orange or yellow and would stand out among all the other poncho covered kids.

If your disney poncho rips, they will replace it free of charge- I've even done this with ponchos 2+ years old.

I use an adult poncho to cover the stroller when it rains. I have a clear one from a previous trip- I duct taped the hood area closed and that way the kids can still see out of the clear plastic cover. ( I have a side-by-side umbrella stroller so they don't make a cover for that kind).

I just wanted to mention that even the child size ponchos can be huge on a toddler. We got one for DS when he was 3, and he's tall for his age, he was tripping over it. I actually got tape and taped the edges up and he had no problems with it after that.

Yes, they sell an adult and a child size but as another poster mentioned the child size may be too big for a toddler. For a younger child you may be better off packing a raincoat. My kids were not comfy in a poncho until they were older, (and still don't really like them!). Not to long ago I saw come cute disney rain slickers and ponchos in the 2T-4T sizes at K-Mart!

Thanks everyone!

I think your right a rain coat would be better. I don't want him tripping or refusing to wear it!

Thanks again!:bounce:

My almost 4 year old was fine in a ponch on our recent trip but I'd say his 41" height is about the minimum for wearing it and not having it drag the ground. I was a bit concerned when it became apparant we would need them (and of course the one bag I forgot at home was the shopping bag w/ our "throw away" ones from the dollar store!) that he would have a fit. Quite the contrary, he thought it was quite "cool." As a matter of fact it rained at home on Monday and he was asking if he could wear his Disney poncho to schoo. :)

We used the disposable rain ponchos from the dollar store. For the kids I just tied a big knot in the bottom to "hem" them up. Worked like a dream! My son was in a stroller (he's 4) so we just put the sun shade up and gave him a travel size umbrella to hold over the rest of him and this work great as well! When we got back to the room I hung up the ponchos to dry and then rolled them up and put them in a ziploc bag to use again. Thankfully we didn't need them.

The Big Lots here has Sponge Bob Square Pants ponchos. They are small enough that my 4 year old has no problem with them. A toddler might get a little tripped up, but if you buy in advance you can cut it down.

Good idea! I'll have to check big lots!

BTW - do the child size poncho's they sell in the parks have Mickey Mouse on them too?

Also are they clear as well?

Thanks again everyone!:earsboy:

Yes, the child size are clear and have Mickey. They are a mini version of the adult poncho. We were there in May with our 2 1/2 year old niece and hers dragged the ground. We went into a shop on Main Street and asked if they could cut off the bottom so it would be shorter. The CM said, "oh, no, let me show you." He tied a knot on each side, so that the rain would roll off and not pool inside. He said that way she could still use it when she grew taller. They were quite helpful.

Oh excellent - maybe i'll just do that - much easier then lugging a rain coat!

Thanks for the tip!
