Child Safety seats on Airplane?

Here's a question for all the experts out there. I have read at the JetBlue website that each Safety Seat must have the sticker on the seat that says "Approved for Air Travel".

I have 2 seats I bought at the same time and one has the sticker and the other doesn't. I called JetBlue and told them that the seat that doesn't have the sticker is a Graco and that Graco says ALL their seats are approved for Air travel and I have a printed web page to take with me that states this. They seemed very unsure about it but says that it would "probably" be o.k.

Does anyone have experience with this problem? Has anyone ever been turned away? I would really like to use this seat as my DD is very comfortable with it. Any coments would be appreciated.

I think you'll be fine. I had a car seat without a sticker and printed out the desc from a web site that said it was approved. I never had to show it. They never really looked too close. Things are pretty busy when loading the plane so unless you had a car seat that was obviously not allowed (like a booster without 5 point harness) I don't think you'll be questioned.

As a former flight attendant, let me add that most flight attendants can tell by looking whether a carseat is allowed or not. The FAA does not care whether or not the sticker is on, only that it is actually legal. That being said, sometimes I would have to check if the carseat was older, or the harness seemed "ambiguous". But, if it is a 5 pt. harness, you will be fine!!!
