Child menus not showing apps - is this still included?

Hi there, I'm planning my DDP ADR's (dinner) and just looked on menu section on DIS and the following restaurants make no mention of an app for children:

California Grill
Chefs de France
HBD (lists app for lunch, but no app/dessert for dinner)
Restaurant Marrakesh
San Angel Inn
Teppan Edo
Tokyo Dining


I thought children got 3 courses - is this now not so? Any help appreciated! Cheers

I am pretty sure the App/Desert is still included in the children's meals.

You'll need to ask, because the official Disney brochure for the regular dining plan in 2012 does not list appetizers for children any longer. The deluxe plan does, but not the regular. At any rate, at Disney restaurants the children's appetizers are things like chicken soup or a small salad - they don't get appetizers from the regular menu.

If you look at the final brochure for this year you will see that they've removed the "appetizer (for guests 3-9 only)" that used to be there.

Just looked at the brochure and it does look like it's been removed. I realised it was only a salad or soup but they would have been handy for the kids to supplement their obligatory nuggets or burger

What is interesting is that all the restaurants you listed (except California Grill) are operated by third parties, not Disney.

It may be why you are seeing a difference in the format of their menus.

Just brought up menus for Coral Reef and LTT and both mention 3 courses for kids so I think you may be right - just so happens a lot of the restaurants we want to visit are in Epcot and must be owned by others
