Thinking of doing Blue Bayou for lunch. Been many years since we've done the BB as the prices are insane for mediocre food, but the point of BB is the atmosphere, not the food. I've got a 12 and 13-yo. Wondering if they can get away with using the kids menu as the prices are much more reasonable. I'm still on the fence. We can afford it, but I hate the feeling of getting gouged. Guess it boils down to how bad do you want to eat inside POTC.

I don't know if this is still the case, but last year there was a thread asking about adults ordering off the kids menu and the answers were generally that they would be served a double portion and charged a comparable price to an adult meal.

Unless you blatantly lie about your children's ages they cannot order from the kids' menu at the child's price. You can order from the kids' menu but they will be charged twice the price and they will receive twice the food. If you are unhappy with the food there don't go.

Like pixiewings71 said you can order from the kids menu but you will be charged double the price and revive double the size of that kids item. We were there last month and we loved being able to order the Filet from the adults menu and then mac and cheese instead of the potatoes and veggies then did split plate so we still got a starter as well. It was plenty of food and turned out to be a better deal for us.

If you are feeling gouged, it isn't worth it. Ride the ride instead. Unless your 12 and 13yo look 9, you won't "get away" with it. If they prefer the food on the kids' menu, they can order it, but it will be at adult portions and prices.

When we went last may with boys 9 and 10 they gave us kids menus for them they both ordered and nobody ever asked for their age?

Maybe have them share an adult meal, split it at the table yourselves, ask for an extra plate, they offer a split plate option where you get double the sides but there's a charge for that.

OP's kids aren't 9 & 10, they are 12 & 13, they will not get kids' menus when they are seated. :)

This is actually a great idea, if you just ask for an extra plate you won't be charged the split plate fee and you won't get extra sides either. :)

My daughters are 10 and 12. We were NOT offered the kids menu. I asked the waiter if the 10 year could order from the kids menu because the food may be too much for her. He said they do have a lower than average kid age limitation, but no. You can, however, share. Even though the girls were ordering the exact same thing, and because being pre-teens, my girls do not know the meaning of share, lol, I decided to just splurge this one time. Why in the world does Disneyland consider 10 year olds, or even 12 year olds, adults!?!? So, unless your daughters look 9, they won't even offer you the kids menu.

I had a 9 year old with me, about a week before her 10th birthday, I had to ask for the kid's menu. Actually, I tried to take one because I thought she'd like the activities and they asked me if we needed one. Of course, the menus are all listed outside the restaurants, so if you tell your server you want something off the menu, I'm sure that's when they'd ask about ages.

We were there last month and although we were not offered the kids menu when we asked for the kids menu we had no problem. We were a group 21,28,29 & 52. We were able to order off of it (in fact we did this at Storytellers for dinner) we got double the portions for double the cost. They like to accommodate you. Also an option like I said above is if you like something on the adult menu you can substitute the sides for something more kid friendly like mac and cheese or even rice (which is what a picky eater in are group did).
