does anyone know where can you get child ID tags or wristbands in canada? i would prefer not to order online from one of the US sites if there is a canadian site that has similar products.

this will be our first trip to WDW with a 4 yr old and 2 yr old, and i'm looking for some sort of wearable ID just to be on the safe side.

I used tags that I made:
info included child's name,
DH & my names,
cell #,
resort we were staying at,

I had them laminated at Staples. I used rubber luggage tags from dollarstore to attach them to the kids pant loop, or fanny pack, usually in the back so that they didn't even know they were there. I have read since of someone using safety pins and pinning them on the child's back as well.

Have a great trip.

Not really on topic but a tip I've heard here and think is a great idea is to take a picture of your kids each morning before heading to the parks. In case you get separated you have an easy description right at hand:thumbsup2.

The photo idea is a good one. I tended to use my cell phone camera, as I always have it (and the screen is bigger than my digital camera, if I just want to show it to someone in a hurry, or remind myself what they're wearing). For ID, I have used medical tape, you know the smooth fabric kind you use to attach gauze or whatever? I put it on the inside-back of their t-shirts. They were old enough to know where it was if they needed someone to reach us, but not old enough to memorize Mommy's cell phone number. Also I still don't like having their names "out there" where someone can pretend to know them by using their names. I had to write it on the tape every morning rather than pre-printing multiples, but it was comfy and non-irritating, and that stuff did NOT fall off! I tried to remember to take it out at the end of the day, but I found several in the laundry well after the fact... (still in place for the most part).

I have always done that. It also helps me remember where each day starts on my memory card.

As for ID, I create my own using a blank business card and our ds carried it in a lanyard. It has his picture, name, our names, and what resort we are staying at.

we ordered ours from Mabels Labels. They are the 411 id bands. We printed our names and cell numbers.
DS (5) LOVED his and the baby (1) didn't notice hers.
We changed them every day, but they were fine in the water. They faded but you could still read the info just fine.

thanks for the ideas guys! were travelling this fall with our 4 and 2 yr old as well. and while im not concerend about my 4 yr old my two yr old takes off like a shot!!! these are great ideas!!!

great tips, everyone. much appreciated. :)

i decided to order the vital id bracelets, looking forward to getting them so i can try them out (and mostly get the kids used to them before we go).

These are what we'll be getting too. They are obvious if you were looking but also just look like a bracelet. They have them at my kid's hairdresser and they look really sturdy.

I had "Dog Tags" engraved at the mall with my cell phone and name on it for the kids. I wear a medical alert, so my kids just think it is part of the deal about going anywhere.

I also like the picture ID. I know when we take the Dreams Take Flight Kids, we take a Poleroids of them in the morning just in case god forbid one of them gets separated from the group. That would be a group leader's worst nightmare.
