My husband and I are going to Disney for about a week. I am considering leaving our son at one of the kids programs for one afternoon or evening while we spend a few hours alone. Has anyone had any experience with any of the kids programs? How are these programs? Which is the best? I am afraid to use the in room care. I have done alot of work with abused children and would be nervous leaving him in a hotel room with a stranger. Oh- one final question. He will be one day shy of four years when we leave him-- can he still go? He is potty trained and has been for some time. We are staying at POR if this matters.

Our DD ages 6 & 9 at the time went to the Netherland club at the Polynesian. They thought it was great. the younger one liked it as much as the parks! They had plenty of activities that kept them busy for the night.

Please call the kids' club and ask about the age limit. I don't know if it is a hard-and-set rule or just some sort of guideline.

I have used various WDW kids' clubs, and also Disney's in-room babysitting services, quite a few times over the years. None of my children (or my niece or nephew) have ever had any bad experiences.

I wrote about my daughter's recent BC Sandcastle Club experience in my trip report -- click here for comments regarding Sandcastle Club (look for the thread on that page entitled, "Beach Club Villas Day Two, Part 2"). I also wrote a little more about the Sandcastle Club on the next page of that trip report (there is no title for that thread but it is toward the bottom of that page). My daughter stayed there twice and had a great time each visit.
