Last year we bought APs for our family. This year we will be going before the APs expire. Last year's 9 year old is of course now 10!

I've heard (and believe) that you can exchange the child AP for an adult AP at no additional charge under these circumstances. But is there really any point to doing so? Wouldn't everyone, including Disney, be just as happy if the 10 year old continued to use his child AP?

It's really your call. The right thing to do would be to do the exchange. But there will be no ramifications if you don't. The child's pass will still work for the 10 year old.

We had the same situation last year. The first day we were eager to get into the parks so I just let her use her child AP. Later that afternoon when we hopped to MK I tried to have them change her child AP to an adult AP but since it was to expire in another month the CM told me to know even bother.

We bought the child AP pass for our daughter last year and she is now 10. Were do you go to change from the child AP to the adult AP and do you have to pay the diffrence in price

The correct thing is to use the child's AP for your now 10 year old that you bought and first used when s/he was 9. Disney does not expect you to upgrade part way through the year.

However, if you bought a child's AP when your child was 9 but did not activate it until the child is 10 an upgrade to an adult AP would be appropriate.
