Looking to book a flight with a child, will be 2 1/2 at the time of the flight (first time flying with a child). Found a flight with times that work perfectly for us, but the breakdown of the price (4 adults and the 2 1/2 year old) shows the child ticket as being the same price as the adult ticket. Is this normal???

Yes, child airplane tickets cost just as much as adult tickets.

I have had flights where children were less expensive, but not very often.

Most of the time the airlines will indeed charge full fare for children

On international flights (unless this has changed), kids under 2 are 10% of the list price. Kids over 2 and under 12 are 90% of the list price. For the US, it's full fare.

That must depend on the carrier. We have an international flight booked for next month, and my son's ticket cost the same as mine.
