I was looking forward to trying this at Tony's, is there a decent chicken parm around? I have read a number of mediocre reviews from TOny's, perhaps we should try something different. :lovestruc

Try Mama Melrose at DHS. Pretty good chix parm, went there last April and had it.

Mama Melrose is a good suggestion. You might also try Via Napoli at Epcot. Tutto Italia's chicken parm is more authentic and less American-style.

My dd loves chicken parm, so was thrilled to be able to get it at both Tony's and Mama Melrose's. BUT....we both ordered it at MM and it was terrible. It was marginally better at Tony's but we decided we weren't going back to either place again.

I agree, my DH had it when we were there in March and I had to have a bite of it. It was really, really good. I opted for a 5 cheese flat bread which was good, but vowed to get the chicken parm whenever we decide to dine there again.

I am a very picky eater and we went to Tony's I got chicken Parm and I thought it was very good

We ate at Tony's for the 1st time about 3 1/2 weeks ago. Everyone ordered the chicken parm and we all thought it was very good. We had avoided Tony's in the past due to the negative reviews, so we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good and we had great service - we will definitely go back in the future.

The first time we went to Tony's was on our honeymoon, so it is special to us. We go there every trip. The chicken parm is my favorite. It is my husbands favorite WDW restrauant. Eveyone has different tastes. We really enjoy Tony's and have never had a bad time.

We went to Tony's last year for lunch and we loved it. It is our first dinner on our upcoming trip.

For a CS option, try the chicken parm at Pinochios in the MK. I had this when we visited and it was not bad. It wasn't the best, but it sure beat a hamburger.

Il Mulino in the Swan has a great chicken parm! :thumbsup2 and great italian food all around! i'm very picky with my italiano!

I actually liked the chicken parm at Mama Melrose's much more than I expected. I definitely to prefer it to Tony's.

Definitely consider Via Napoli. I haven't tried it myself, but the pictures look fantastic, and the reviews have generally been enthusiastic.

I am rather picky about my pasta and not only did I like the chicken parm at Tony's we loved out whole meal there. The staff was great, the food was yummy and my Celiac DH got to have pasta and brushetta there. It was my fave meal of the trip (Fulton's, Big River, 50's PT, Bistro in France, Akershus)

It's threads like this that prove my point about not completely trusting what others say about various WDW restaurants. Some may love a spot, while others hate it. All you can do is give it a shot yourself and see what you think. It's only one meal....not that much to lose.
There truly is something for everyone there.

The chicken parm at MM is disgusting. They have a gross brown tomato sauce. Stick with anywhere else!!!

umm more authentic to what?? there is no such thing in Italy
Chicken Parm is an American dish but still good

I see what you mean ;) I think you have inspired me to try Tony's AND Shutters:wizard: Seriously though, if my meal is as bad as the review I heard on the podcast, is there anything I can do for compensation?

Just for comparison, I have only returned 1 steak ever for being over cooked, and refused to eat one dish, pot roast from cracker barrel. I am married to a chef, educated at CIA in NY, so it isn't like we don't know phenomenal food, we just know when to expect it, does that make sense? I will go with average expectations and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I like getting the chicken parm at Tutto's. That way, I can head right into the bakery for dessert. :cake:

Ohhh... And the chicken parm's not bad either.

I had chicken parm at Via Napoli last night and it was SO good! I've had it at MM and Tony's before and enjoyed the one at Via Napoli much more.

Here's a photo from Via Napoli, it comes with two little spaghetti blocks that were yummy with the sauce and chicken.
