Chicken out before scary ride

ive made fp plans for me and my family and they include a couple of thrill rides. One of them in particular is Rock n roller coaster and it’s our first fast pass of the day. If I decide not to ride, I’ll have to wait until the entire time allotted is up before I’m able to adjust anything. Should I scan in at the first turnstile and then just not go further? Can I go through the entire line with them and then decide not to ride? Where would I go? The exit is usually on the opposite side from loading. If I do nothing and wait somewhere else in the park, will that really impact my ability to ride rides as soon as they’re done while my fast pass will still be showing as unused? Will I be able to get on another ride while my fast pass is “active” for that whole hour? I don’t want to hold us up from doing things once they are done if I don’t ride rock n roller coaster.

You can either tap in, leave the line and wait for the rest of your party in the gift shop or you can stay in line until after the preshow and let the CM know you are not riding, you will be escorted out via the "chicken exit"

You will be able to ride rides while your fast pass is “active” - you just can’t have 2 active fast passes for the same time period - if you choose not to ride and want to ride something else while they are on RnR then just modify your fast pass for a new experience

I usually just tap in and then walk away, but you can go through the line and just tell the CM you aren't riding. They will point you to the exit.

I always say Im gonna ride go through the queue with my family and we are almost there and I chicken out and through the chicken exit I go..lol

Yes - but once the entire party has used the first FP they can then modify the 2nd to an earlier time and so on. Guests do this so they are eligible for that 4th earlier in the day.

If I don’t ride with them, I would mist likely just pop in a shop or people watch. There’s nothing close to rock n roller coaster early in the morning that I would want to do without them. So, I’d have that fast pass hanging there for that hour. That’s why I was wondering seeing how I could use it up if I decide not to ride.

I have a chronic illness that sometimes makes me feel under the weather so I won’t ride every ride every time. I usually stay in line with everyone to chat and then tell the CM at load in I’m not riding.

I would just tap in when they do, but not enter the line. I'd head to a shop, get a snack, or hang around and try to get pictures of your group riding.

Tap through both spots and if you don't want to ride, then don't. The "chicken exit" is right behind the CM who tells you what row to go in (it's the door right there).

FOr RnR you can go in the line with your family when you get to the load area tell the CM that you do not want to ride there is a hallway that you will walk down and it will take you to the unload area where you will then walk through a gate and into the gift shop. your family should be a few minutes behind you at this point so if you want to look around do it fast. the preshow is kind of fun since you have a FP for it I would see it.
