Chicken McNuggets - What Happened?

Is it just me, or have these things gone way downhill? When I was a kid, they were sold in those little styrofoam containers and were always hot, never wrinkly, and delicious. Now, they're just nasty. They're always cold, rubbery, wrinkled.

What has happened?

Have you tried differant McD's? I find quality varies by location, at least around me. The one by my house has very good quality food, even the nuggets.

No more deep frying, and they're all white meat.

Need I say more?

Yeah - I have noticed that. The one at the mall down the street is downright nasty. On a whole though, McNuggets just aren't the same as they used to be.

Oh well. One less thing to clog your arteries! ;)

That's true.

It's funny. I was watching that movie "Super Size Me", and the guy's going through the whole process as he eats his lunch.

"This is where you get the Mcstomach ache. This is where you get the Mcgas. This is where your stomach starts making these weird Mcnoises."

I don't mind them. My sons get them ocassionally and I like to sneak a bite with the sweet-n-sauce. Perhaps your tastes could have changed since adulthood.

To me, they ruined the McNugget when they made them all white meat. Chicken strips are supposed to be white meat - McNuggets are supposed to be mystery meat! :rotfl:

Sounds like the Crispy Chicken sandwich. They should rename it the McSoggy.

I had some for dinner last night. They were YUMMY! :Pinkbounc And I guess healthy, too since they are all white meat and not fried.

Yeah, that's possible.

Actually, the reason I'm going to McDonalds at all lately is for the sweet and sour sauce. They don't have any at the fast food places at Disney, and the chicken fingers are awesome. So, I'm taking them home for my trip next month.

Can't remember the last time I had a chicken mcnugget, but their chicken strips are good.

The last time I had a McNugget it tasted like breaded compressed sawdust. :crazy2:

I haven't eaten a McNugget in awhile, but those new deluxe sandwiches are so good! Expensive for a fast food sandwich, IMHO, but I really like the Club one.

You don't have to fry chicken strips or mcnuggets to get them to taste good. We served baked chicken strips at my school and we always have to make more than what the daily sheet (which tells us how much we should make of each item) tells us because they are so popular. :)

Which begs the question, how exactly, do you know breaded compressed sawdust tastes like? :rotfl2:

I have noticed the same thing. My nuggets ahve been wrinkley as well. I have tried other MCD, but alas, the same problem.

What do you think they serve at the Home Depot employee meetings? :rotfl:

Does anyone else remember the holiday sauces they used to give with the McNuggets? There was a cranberry one, and I think an orange one. I loved the orange one. Wonder why they stopped making them. Guess no one but me liked them.

We haven't been to McD's in a couple years at least because it's all gotten disgusting. And chicken was what we were finally down to getting. I wouldn't feed it to my dog! We switched to chicken at Burger King which seems to be much better, but we go there seldom. DS prefers Sonic or Hardees.
