Chicken Little

Hmmm, I couldn't send my e-mail until about an hour or so late. I wonder if I missed it? I'm still waiting for Syracuse, NY.

Just got mine in St Louis!! Woo hoo!!

Not at a theater we have been to before though. I hope it is nice! :)

For you Columbus Disers I was wondering what city your movie is in? I live in between CLeveland and Columbus and was wondering for next time which one would be closer. The Cleveland movie is in the Parma area.

Hello fellow St. Louisan! and Disney fan... and Cardinal fan... but that comes standard in a St. Louisan. Glad you were able to catch the last game at Busch.

Anyway we've been to a Disney sneek preview at the Esquire before (and we saw the sneak preview of Jurassic Park there too) It's a nice theater, If you'd like to read more about it heres an neat little write up from the following website:

http://cinematreasures.org/theater/6075/

"The Esquire opened as part of the Komm Theatres of St. Louis in 1925. At the time it was on the outskirts of the city. It originaly opened as a single screen seating 1500 with a decent sized balcony. The theatre became the flagship of the Mid America Theatres when the son in laws of Samuel Komm took over the circuit after his death. (Louis and Jules Jablonov)The Esquire was originally a second run house with some minor first run pictures. It ran its features day and date with the Ritz, Norside and Empress. The Esquire was always a big draw and very high grossing theatre. The Mid America Circuit remodeled in the mid 60's and turned the balcony into two more
audiroriums and it became the Esquire 3, the main floor retained its
large screen and the decor pretty much stayed the same. Later there was another auditorium added to the east side of the theatre and it became the Esquire 4. The unique thing about auditorium 4 was that the projection booth was enclosed in glass in the lobby and you could see the projectionist running the projectors. When Mid America was sold to AMC the Auditorium 4 was redone and added on making it into four theatres and making it the Esquire 7. The Esquire has always been one of the top grossing theatres in the St. Louis market. Just 10 blocks to the east is the only continious running theatre inside the city limits, the Hi-Pointe. Just a block to the west and around the corner from the Esquire was the Richmond Theatre, long closed. The main auditorium of the Esquire even though revamed into a multiplex still has that old theatre atmosphere. The big neon marquee has been retained jutting out on Clayton Road. The theatre still has its outside box office. The only protection from the outside weather is when you are under the large marquee. There are always long lines at the Esquire. Some of the movies to premiere at the Esquire were Star Wars Episode 1, Batman, Ed Wood and Jurassic Park in the large main auditorium on the large 60 foot screen.
When a big movie opens in St. Louis you can be sure that the Esquire will be sold out. One certain reason is the perfect sound system. One might argue that the newer suburban megalpexes have a better system, but they'd be wrong. The crowds at the Esquire are the most fun and most diverse in the Metropolitan area. The Esquire still retains that old Movie Palace atmosphere.
Also the district offices for AMC are located at the Esquire."

Got ours for Grand Rapids, MI.
Question, though. What keeps people from printing more out and giving them to friends? I ask because this theater is a ways from our house, and I would hate to drive there (with excited children) and then have it be full already. The ticket says that it does not guarantee you a seat? I'm hoping that they actually do check your ID, like it says. Does anyone know?

:cheer2: Got mine for Houston!! Odd though, I sent in two requests (my DH has a seperate card for business) and we did not get one for that card. I guess I will go with the two oldest kids without DH. :cheer2:

It is at the Edwards Marq*e (7600 Katy Freeway aka I-10) at 10 am for the poster who asked where it would be showing in Houston.

I guess it depends. Sometimes I was asked for ID and sometimes I was asked for my Disney Visa and then a couple of times I wasn't.

I always get there at least 30 - 45 minutes early to be on the safe side.

Im still waiting,,,,,i was one of the early birds. Hopefully, they are sending them out by last email sent to first email sent? Im hoping...

Just checked my email and we got ours here in MI!! I didn't think I'd actually get passes...so this is cool :cheer2:

Got mine for Los Angeles.

Not sure if we will use them though. We live in Northern CA but will be at Disneyland this weekend. When the cities list first came out I was hoping for Anaheim or Orange County but they weren't listed, so I chose Los Angeles. Then a few days later, I saw that Orange County was listed. Wonder if it will be at Downtown Disney. I'm just not too excited about driving around in LA traffic when I could be at Disneyland.

Nothin like a free movie!!

Are you using all 4 of yours? If not, could we meet up and my DH go on one? We have 5 people and 4 passes. PM me if you do, and we'll make arrangements. Thanks!

Depends. ;) Are they doing this as a pre-screening, where it is being shown before it is released to mass market? If so, you won't be able to purchase a ticket.

If it like the free screening they did for Valient (and the one before... can't remember the movie!), we had to stand in line and exchange our letter for the tickets and yes, you can purchase an extra one.

Maybe your Dh's invite will still arrive? I thought I remembered you saying you both registered.

And.... reporting in from St Louis... nothing here yet. :(

Yes, it's a pre-screening, and no, DH's invite hasn't come...

Im still waiting for Hartford, someone posted they received the email for hartford earlier. I have a not so good feeling about this

Orange County is the Downtown Disney location. I just got mine for this location. What location is the one for Los Angeles?? Is it El Capitan or another location??

I don't think I am going to get it. I was one of those that sent the email a little early and I told a friend about it after it was posted. She sent one and got it already so I don't think it is coming my way. :guilty:

We might spilt the tickets (her and I go with the 2 kids and someone else wacth the babies.) The Detroit one is at Great Lakes crossing at 10:00 if anyone is curious.
