Just thought I'd share, although it wasn't funny last night.

I had planned on making chicken on the grill. The leg/thigh quarters with some rice and corn on the cob. Now silly me didn't think she had to par-boil the chicken first to get off some of the grease that chicken tends to have, so I tossed them on the upper rack of the grill on low heat. Not 15 minutes later, I see flames from the grill and noticed that a few pieces of our siding on the shed were starting to melt:eek: I ran outside with an oven mit and opened up the grill and my poor chicken was on fire!

Needless to say we didn't have chicken for dinner. Since I had nothing else defrosted we ended up having tuna.

everytime I use the grill my food catches on fire

I bought a new grill and nothing goes on fire. i got the Char Broil professional grill. No coals just flame and I think that is the key no coals. I love my grill. Last night I cook sausages on it, no fire at all. :D

Don't feel bad. At least you'll attempt to grill. I have no idea how to grill. I can only do the George Forman - and even that I stare at it the whole time waiting for it to burst into flames right on my kitchen counter!

And tuna is good for you!

I have a beautiful, huge Weber Kettle that I won't touch because I don't think I can grill properly. But at least you can laugh about your "accident" this morning. One of my sister's ex-husbands did the same thing, except he melted the siding on their house - and it was a rental house!
