Chicken and Beef Donuts!!!

DD and I went to Marrakesh last year and loved it. I think the reason why we loved it was because it was different, food was yummy, clean, relaxing and air conditioned. I was thinking about going again during my birthday trip, which is during Food and Wine Festival.

Listening now to Kevin, I may not make any ADRs on the days we are at Epcot. Last time I was at Food and Wine Festival was 1996.

I have had ADR's for Marrakesh twice and chickened out both times! I ended up changing them and going to Bistro Paris and Brown Derby and didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Kevin's review reaffirmed that! The food just does not appeal to me, I love trying new stuff but only to a certain point. I am sure it is good for more adventures eaters but beef donuts is just too exotic!

It's not. DD and I were just discussing and she started to lick her lips and asked if we could go back. She preferred the chicken and I preferred the beef.

We ate there and it wasnt to bad. The bastilla was way better than those beef brewat rolls. The soup was very good and we both wished we had that. We were there in January so the soup was nice with the chill in the air. I just looked at the menu and the prices have went up alot since we were there last. Our local Moroccan place is way better though. A nice treat is hot mint tea and a piece of Baklava from the take out place to eat while watching illuminations. Another great bargain is the chicken and lamb schwarma (sp) platter from Tangerine Cafe. Yummy!!!

I had the chicken schwarma a couple of days before the chicken and beef donuts. I thought it was sorry looking. I have seen some of the food pics posted here and compared to those pics, it was pathetic.

I want to find a Moroccan place around here, so far I have only been able to find Lebanese.

I LOVE the beef brewat rolls. Once you get past the idea of them and concentrate on the taste, they're actually very good. Back when you could get the big ones for dinner, I had them for dinner each time. YUMMY!

Lemon chicken for you non-adventurous people...and bastilla for dessert!

Try it! It's good!

It may also be the cleanest non-frou-frou restaurant on Disney property. And the servers are always very, very nice. Always guys, too.

My husband and I went to Marrakesh a few years ago and loved the food. We are not big eaters, however, we both thought that there wasn't enough food too. Oh! And we had a female server. She was veerryy nice and attentive to the husband, but completely snubbed me. Wonder what that was about?

My first thought was...chicken and powdered sugar, someone had finally brought together two of my favorite things...however it wasn't as good as I had hoped.

Now if I can just get them to melt a Mickey Bar in my Cheese Soup I would be in heaven...............

DH was chomping at the bit to eat here on our honeymoon. I finally caved and we actually had a decent lunch there! We did have a female server...that was back in 2002.

I remember that they were promoting some kind of "feast" that included appetizers, main course, beverage, and a dessert for a fairly reasonable price. I know that the main course was a sampler type platter as well, but we had good-sized portions. I couldn't finish it! And since the appetizers and desserts were individual, the portions were just right. Our server even brought us an extra dessert - it was some pastry thing with phyllo dough and cinnamon - but it did not have meat in it! I remember it served with ice cream.

Sounds like things have changed since we ate there last! When we ate, there was no music and belly dancer. We ate pretty late in the day, but before the dinner rush began. Our server was so sweet too...she gave us a complimentary copy of their cookbook that they were selling at the time!

I did discover my very favorite thing there though...I had the mint iced tea. I LOVE mint iced tea! I make it at home all the time now!

DH and I ate there on our Honeymoon in 2005 and loved it (yes, including the chicken and beef donuts ). We made an ADR for our trip in late 2006 only to find that we thought everything was gross.

I guess the Disney World Dining Jinx (DWDJx) got us, but we will not be returning there anytime soon!

At first I thought, it's just a bit of cream and sugar...so not a big deal to add to the soup. But then I remembered the chocolate. Ewww is right!

Although...while in Vegas, dh and I hit this chocolate store in the Forum Shops called Vosges haut Chocolat. I've seen them on the food network before and wanted to check them out. They combine chocolate with the most bizarre things. Who'd have thought that a chocolate and kalamata olives bar would actually taste good? Weird, I know...but I swear it's true! She makes truffles with the weirdest spices and things...curry...olives...wasabi...the ones I tasted were really good!

So if John wants to combine his cheese soup and a mickey bar...who knows! He may have stumbled upon a great little secret that could make him millions!

Is the cheese soup not hot enough that you could sneak in a Mickey Bar and add it yourself. Logistics and timing would be needed. You could take a picture for us.

Now I've heard of chocolate and pepper (I want to say cayenne, but have been mixing up my peppers lately). But have never tried it even though I am a big chocolate fan. I believe that I could handle the wasabi and chocolate as well. I think I could handle the whole sweet and salty or sweet and spicy.
