chick-fil-a

I hate that they are closed on Sunday and would prefer for them to be open 7 days a week. But I respect their choice. We don't need blue laws in this country we just need to let each business choose it's own operating hours.

well blue laws are a whole other problem, not a separation of church and state IMO

The one here has a sign on their gate that says "Closed on Sunday. The day is worth more than the dollar."

They are great employers, I understand, at least here. They are great community members, too - I see their donated products at darn near every fund raiser I attend.

Wow - not much tolerance from those who don't agree with their beliefs.

Chic-fil-a has donated to every one of my fundraisers and always donates food at my events. They know me by name and even give me free waffle fries (yum).

I love them.

It would be easier for me for them to be open on Sundays, but I totally respect their choice. I probably shouldn't work on Sundays, but my job says I have to sometimes.

Its Saturday...so I think I'll head up there for some chicken!

I admire the owners of any company that does not compromise their beliefs for a dollar. They apparently are not hurting because of their decision to stay closed on Sunday.

It's funny that for some, tolerance counts until it includes a belief held due to religious beliefs.

Ok...so what religion is it? Just curious. Am I allowed to ask that? :confused3
I like Chik-fil-a. I never knew they were closed on Sundays until just now. We don't have one near us, I only get to eat it when we head to California or Tennessee to visit friends.
It doesn't bother me if they are open or closed on a Sunday. If it is their business they have the right to set what hours they are open for business. If I want it, I'll go, if not, then I won't, but if they are open on certain days or not, that alone will not sway me one way or the other.

^^^ Owned by Mormons (LDS)

Ok, I figured they would be LDS owned. When I lived in Vegas we had a furniture store (RC Willey) that was also LDS owned and it too was closed on Sundays, good for them I say. Like, I said, it is totally up to them. Whatever! However......there are also grocery stores in Vegas (Smiths..which is part of the Kroger fam) that are LDS owned and they are open on Sundays and they even sell alcohol, and they even sell it on Sundays. Ok...let the backlash begin.

We have Hobby Lobby here in NC too. I don't know who owns it either. :confused3 DW gives them some of her craft shopping dollars in support of their policy.

The original owner WAS a Baptist, not a Mormon. I don't believe they even have Chick-fillet out west, where most of the Mormons live. Instead, it's more of a Southern fast-food place.

I've read that when the original owner started the business he decided that if he couldn't make enough money to live in six days a week, he should pack it up anyway. It must've worked because the place is ALWAYS packed. Personally, I LOVE their sandwiches, but not their fries. Their new chicken strips are delicious too.

They offer some decent scholarships to their high school employees too.

I like to have one of their handspun milkshakes once in a blue moon. They are way too tasty and fattening to enjoy regularly. :goodvibes

We have quite a few CFAs in AZ, in Mesa, where the Morman Temple of AZ is, there are 5 or 6.

They are in California!! I just checked, they do have them in SLC too. I wish we had them here. :(

Although they do not serve food on sundays, occasionally they will have their employees go in and do cleaning....so their employees do work on some sundays.

I always crave chickfila on sundays too!

Well then they've been lying at the mall. The mall folks said it's owned by a Mormon. Oh well. My bad. :goodvibes
