Has anyone ever done an event like this with young kids (age 5 and under)? I received the invitation email today and 2 items jumped out at me:

• Fun for the whole family at an exciting Dance Party with refreshments
• Appearances by Mickey and Minnie

Both of these would be things my kids would love and even though we would not be adding points - this could make for a fun day.

I'm signed up for Thursday the 23rd. We're bringing our 4 year old with. From the previous threads about the "Sea what's next" event, kids had a good time.

My daughter received an invite and she is a non-DVC member. Call Doorway to Dreams and they will give you the link to register. They just did for me.

Does anyone know why this is downtown instead of in Schaumburg? Are they going to have mock ups of the rooms? Seems kinda silly to me to set up new rooms when they already have rooms set up in the mall.

Such a pain for us to get downtown, and then to have to pay for parking.

But you get luggage tags and binoculars valued at $8 to offset the $19 parking charge.

I highly doubt there would be any models set up for the special event. You can view those any day at Doorway to Dreams.

This event seems to be promoting DVC, its options as well as the new Aulani Resort. There will be a children's area set up so they can have some fun while the parents view the presentation. These are always fun events and I am looking forward to it!

It will be interesting to see what (if any) offers are presented for the special event!

We had a blast at the last one. My grandson loved dancing w/ the characters. It will be worth the drive and cost of parking. The luggage tags will be cool. We added on as a result of the last one to our home resort BLT. We ended up calling our own guide - no one called us back as they stayed they would.

We went to the last one in Schaumburg planning to add on. We took DGD so she could enjoy the party after and dance with the characters. I was wondering how that was going to work, as the promotional info seemed to indicate there would be an informational segement for the adults while the kids had supervised playtime, and then the party after, during which you could talk to guides if interested in adding on. Seemed to me you'd be choosing party time vs add-on/guide time.

I had questions, as I was wanting to use info from the Dis boards to ask to cancel my current vacation, unborrow points, rebook with the new "free" current points, and spread the add-on cost into chunks that would fit onto our Disney rewards VISA so we could get all the rewards. But, I didn't want DGD to miss the party.

As we sat waiting for the event to start, I noticed a room busy with people. I asked and got permission to go in before the event. We got all our questions answered, got everything done as previous people had discussed on the Dis, and got the promo discount. The only bad thing was, we were late for the sales presentation and had to sit in the very back wings. The view was bad, and we didn't see much, but hey, it was the sales presentation. The party we got to attend in full. DGD was very happy

Any thoughts on whether it's worth it to go alone? I'm actually going to be downtown at that time, but hubby has a commitment until noon on Saturday. So I could possibly do the 10am one by myself.

Our Guide from Doorway just sent us the email yesterday and since we are in closing he said come on out and have fun, but I wont let you add on points yet. I thought that was funny.

We are thinking of going. Lots of choices.
