Hey Everyone! RichO here, the dude that started this thing.
After I made the original post my company put me on a project that has had me out of town quite a bit. I'm glad to see everyone else has taken the idea and run with it!

I see the meet is June 22, correct? and at what time is the meet?
I will be in town that weekend, but I have tickets for the Cubs-Sox game that evening (if you don't have tix, good luck). I will do my best to be there, sounds like a very good time!

It sounds like we are shooting for a late lunch, probably between 2-3pm at either Gino's East or... Uno's (it is closer).
It'd be weird that the person organizing the event was squeezed out of it

If you PMed me, sorry I haven't acknowledged you yet! It was a bad week at work. I try to be an upbeat person but I work with the most miserable group of people ever assembled under one roof! Sometimes they just wear me out...
But now it's the weekend and life is good so I'll try to touch base with each of you!

For everyone who is considering coming, please do! All the cool kids will be there! If you can't come this time I'm sure we'll do it again.

For those of you who are coming, if you have never visited the DVC Doorway to Dreams store in Woodfield and you'd like to go in and tour the Animal Kingdom Villa, I would suggest that you arrive a little earlier - say noon. I stopped in the other day and spoke to one of their cast members and she said that they'd prefer to do a small presentation- no obligation or pressure- but they'd just like to present the information to the group about the DVC and show you around the villa. Regardless we can use the DVC store as our meeting point!

I'm not a podcast 'member' but, my DIS brother, 'blamemysister' (sister is me ) is and I think if HE goes to his 1st ever meet, I'd try and join him, and all of you! I've been to too many DIS Meets to count actually but, it's been a while for Chicagoland! I sent him a link.

Just to make sure I'm on the same page with everyone else; are we meeting at Doorway to Dream at Woodfield at noon, then sometime after we are eating at Gino's East? I'm not sure which one we are going to (I'm guessing the one on Golf & Algonquin) or what time the lunch will be. Is anyone handling the headcount and reservation?
I work and live super-close to both locations and will help out wherever needs be

Many people have expressed interest here on the board but I've only recieved a few PMs. If you haven't already, please PM me and let me know if you are coming and how many will be in your party. I want to call Gino's with an accurate head count. Even if you aren't 100% sure, let me know so I can put you on the "maybe" list!

To recap:

The date: Sunday, June 22nd
Where: Meeting at the DVC Doorway to Dreams store at Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg IL
When: If you want to attend a short DVC presentaion and see the Animal Kingdom Villas, arrive between Noon-12:30. Otherwise, we'll be meeting between 12:30-1. (We'll tighten up those times when we have a better idea of how many people are coming.) Then we'll head over to Gino's.
Why: Because it'll be fun!

Oh, I'm so glad I found this thread! I've been to a few DIS Chicago meets in the past, and I've always had a great time, even though I knew very few people attending.

Darn it! There goes my chance to come to the meet

We had horrible storms last night and power went out around 7:30. That means the sump pump wouldn't work (I knew I should have gone with a battery backup!) By the time power came back on this morning, I have six inches of standing water in my fully finished basement. I'll be doing cleanup and repair for at least two weeks.

Next time for sure, I'm there - I want a full report of all the fun and frivolity!
