Chicago trip -- need help from locals/frequent visitors

My family is also going to Chicago in August. My kids are older teens , early 20's. We are going to The Chicago History Museum, The Food Planet Bucktown/Wicker Park food tasting tour, Navy Pier, Chicago Lines Architecture boat tour...and shopping.

Make sure there is a specific exhibit at the Chicago History Museum that you want to see. Although it has a lot of resources, is is a small museum, and kinda pricey to get into compared to some of the other Chicago museums. That being said, I end up there once or twice a year, because they do a lot with their special exhibits, but it isn't one of the top museums that I'd recommend.

I haven't been on the WP/BT food tour, but all the places that you'll be visiting are great. (ie. We ordered pizza from Piece for our anniversary dinner last year... yum!)

We loved the Wicker Park food tour. It was so fun and informative. I want to take Dd to I-cream sometime on our own. Its just to find the time...

We love Ed Debevick's, the kitchen sink nachos are so messy but so good! And Gino's East for Pizza!!!!! There is one right across the street from Ed's if you get to know that area. Otherwise we hit the one on Superior near water tower place, seems less busy at that one but might just be wishful thinking.

Ok, I need help wrapping my head around this one. We fly out very early Sunday morning so we are going to stay at hotel by Midway Airport on Saturday night. We will check out of Embassy Suites downtown noon on Saturday and go to Navy Pier for Segway tour. Planned on leaving our luggage at embassy suites. Saturday night we are going to White Sox game so will take Red Line to game. So after baseball game we will take Red line back to Embassy Suites, get luggage, then get back on Red line/transfer to Orange line to go to hotel by airport. This looks exhausting :rotfl2: I am tempted to take our youngest son on Saturday afternoon to check into hotel/take luggage to Midway and then return to downtown to meet up with DH and older boys after their segway tour. Taxi for this? Then we could go to airport hotel directly after game instead of getting luggage. Thanks again for all the assistance and great advice.
