Yes we will be going to the hotel first. I think we will be leaving kind of early and will be in the Chicago area by noon. There are some things I want to do in the area too before dinner that night, but I know we will be at the hotel for several hours before dinner at least.

I was going to try Priceline again for a 3-star hotel in Schaumburg - hoping to do a little better than my $49 rate at the Wyndham Garden there (1 adult rate). Than I decided to see what hotels might have an Entertainment rate in the Schaumburg area, and the Wyndham Garden participates. I ALSO noticed that Entertainment members get either 50% off the RACK rate, or an additional 10% off any promotional rate available to the general public! Before checking the Entertainment rate - I joined Wyndham By Request - to get upgraded amenities and 500 airline miles per stay. The Entertainment rate at the Wyndham Garden in Schaumburg is $65, but I was able to get an extra 10% off the $49 weekend rate ($59 weekend rate for 2 adults). It's worth paying a few dollars more than what I'd probably pay for a Priceline hotel to get airline miles and a fully-cancellable reservation. Just thought I'd pass along that info.

One more FYI: I extended my Disney Club membership through the end of 2003 at a prorated amount of only $2.50 per month - so I'll be able to save at the Disney Store for an extra 5 months!

Gino's has this amazing chicken basil salad that I love. As we were planning the Barb for Real meet at Gino's last fall, I kept talkign about how I wanted this salad. I was so excited for it. We got there and it WASN'T on the menu! I was very sad. And since I had talked so much about it, everyone was expecting to see it. And then there was nothing to show.

So as we were planning our June meet, I was talking about this awesome Snicker's Pie they had at the restaurant we were going to. The big joke was that they weren't going to have it on the menu EITHER! (Luckily, it was there. And MAN was it good!!!)

So THEN when we were planning the last Gino's meet, which was going to be at the Rolling Meadows location, I was all excited about my salad. We got there and they were, of course, teasing me about it. Before we even ordered the pizzas, they ordered my salad for me (so they didn't run out of it). LOL When it came, they were rather shocked by the size of it (its HUGE). Dan has a picture of it--I'm sure he could find it for you if you asked nicely. LOL

So that's the story of the salad. Aren't you glad you asked?!

As much as I LIVE for Gino's East pizza (or any genuine Chicago deep dish), that Chicken Basil salad that DG had was absolutely awesome (we got to try the one they screwed up!)
