If no booked luggage, only carry on. Do you think if arriving midway 9:10 am could you make a 10:50 flight the day before thanksgiving or would security be really backed up? TIA

Honestly you never know about that day at just about any airport but I would imagine you would make it under your conditions of no checked baggage. I know that 2 hours is sometime recommended at certain airports and that most likely takes into consideration time to check your bag. So if you figure less 20 min to check bags and you are probably right on course if you check in before you get to the airport.

No way would I arrive so late to the airport on one of the busiest travel days of the year. The place will be a zoo. A 10:50 flight will probably start boarding around 10:15, so if there is a back up at security (very likely), or you have trouble finding a parking space, etc., you'll risk missing your flight. Add in the chances of weather delays that time of year and you could have problems. I usually don't like arriving too early, but in this case, I'd be at the airport a bit earlier, say 8:30.

If you can accurately predict the weather for that day, let us know; then we can probably give you a much better idea. The chances for crap weather that time of year is relatively high. Being an hour early is much better than being 3 minutes late.

I've seen atrocious security lines at Midway on days where it wasn't the busiest travel day of the year. There's no way I would allow that little amount of time to get through security there that particular day. Or any day, really.

I would not push to arrive at airport that late. All the times I've used Midway it has always been a hot mess.

I wouldn't get to Midway that late on that day. The line to get through security there tends to get backed up on a normal busy day. If it was me I wouldn't get there any later than 8:30 and I'd really want to be there closer to 8:00.
