Like Paco says, I would also like to save Hendricks for Game 1 of the NLCS against Kershaw-Kershaw-Kershaw.

I stayed overnight instead of driving Home so I’ll get to the game early today.

I was reading Twitter last night and it was brutal.

If he does, no worries. Joe said last night when asked about Strasburg pitching (before Dusty talked), “You have to beat the best to be the best.”

todays forecast not looking all that great either~could be drizzling throughout the day, pretty windy as well, hopefully blowing in. Who knows what level Roark will take the mound or for how long, any pitcher, player can have a great game, anytime. I am not going to risk typing the words but will point out that this weather system is also heading East if any baseball teams happen to be The one thing that does stink with all these delays is the distractions and chatter etc. While I believe they are great at blocking crap out, they had the momentum of the W and it would have been great to get right back out there, but as we have seen time and time again, they fire each other up. The wet conditions today do have me kinda concerned tho. Turner is due and wet baseballs do crazy things when thrown as fast as Willy does. I get the lying low snake in the grass feel from Murphy and Werth today for some reason.
Let's remember, on this date a year ago Javy led us to taking game 4 against the Giants~might be a good day for a Cubs playoff game.

Not gonna lie, the length of time since he has pitched can't be ignored. He is such a disciplined /schedule/routine guy. However, Jakeis awesome and I really hope he connects on one at the plate today too!

ETA: I was just rolling hte pitcing rotation in my head...one thing that might come into play with Jake getting bumoed back a day here by the rain is his spot against he Dodger's. Jake usually pretty dang good in CA. just something about it..and if I am figuring right, he would miss pitching there and would go at Wrigley. Had an early mornig and have yet to get my coffee so I could be way off..but hmmmmmm. Y'know Joe was semi irritated(tho weren't we all) at the press conference immediately following the rain delay announcement. I know he was keeping it short, don't say much etc but he did not appear thrilled that Jake was being pushed back another day.

so Boras,,, Starsburg agent just said Strasburg *could* still pitch today..likely to start for the Nats today. Not doing his press conference as he would if pitching tomorrow. The chess game continues

I'm not buying the shaming into it thing...I just honestly think they were going with the mind game. Wind is blowing in do it is a pitcher's park today (so far). Win -win for Stras...if he does great what Phenom! If he doesn't ...well they dude was sick, gave it all he had yadda yadda yadda

It’s a freaking miracle! What a shock. Strasburg is pitching today. Honestly, a sick and uncertain Strasburg is better in my mind than Roark that did well against us. We beat Strasburg on Friday. We can get to him today.

We'll beat whoever is on the mound. I honestly think the wind has been a helpful factor for Strasburg. So now HE starts and Roark comes in later probs...so his pitching schedule stays unaffected...maybe lol

1) apparently SS has a primadonna factor of requiring everything perfect, according to DC Sports radio, as described on Chicago sports radio. That may be a bit harsh but for sure he wasn’t feeling 100% yesterday. Now he’s in damage control mode with his agent and the media. I don’t see how he properly gets mentally geared up. There is a lot of pressure on him here, manufactured from his own doing and how the team didn’t cover properly.

2) Cubs need to stay focused. Put this away. I am most worried about Scherzer. He’s apparently crazy charged up and asked for the ball himself. He could go tomorrow if Gio is pulled.

if reports of him out jogging yesterday are true, he wasn't that sick if at all. My money is on he saw the weather report of cool wind blowing in and said yeah, I'm ready

I haven't been around here for awhile but I wanted to stop in a share my husband's art work for this post season. It's not quite as large because of the amount of spray paint we used. So far, we've used 2 full cans of each color in 1 1/2 weeks.

We will continue to paint it for as long as the Cubs are playing. We hope to use a lot more paint
