Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

Always great to win a road trip that had a lot of exciting games, and return home in first place :thumbsup2~ quick turn around for tomorrows game (if the rain allows for it) I think ESPN missed a few Sunday announcers in their huge house cleaning :rolleyes1 I will be listening to Pat and Ron again next Sunday night. Maybe Rossy can have some pull when he gets there. Kyle did great after that one mistake, KB again..to homer off Rodriguez , :worship: John Jay base running..BLISTERING! CJ awesome, Koji never quite recoverd from the oops at first base~ pretty sure he won't repeat that lapse in judgement again. Turned the momentum. We didn't have it won at that point, but we didn't have it lost either. Lotta learning took place at Fenway this weekend!:D
On another note, I would NEVER wish to be a Mutt, but REALLY, REALLY wouldn't want to be one today. Crushed 23-5~ I know Thor out after 1.1, but Rendon..good golly Miss Molly :faint:

Well, today wraps up April, looking forward to May..warm weather usually brings hot bats ::yes::

ETA :I watched the Koji 1st base tie a few more times, I think he actually DID beat the runner, but no way could that have been overturned. Almost wish he had tried tagging the runner

I didn't watch the game last night, but was "following" it a bit on my phone. What the heck happened? I saw that a Red Sox scored on a wild pitch and then suddenly they scored 3 runs.

I couldn't watch it...these stinking late night starts (especially on a Sunday) are tough for someone that gets up 5:30 in the morning EASTERN. :(:(:(

Well, I watched the first 4 innings or so.

After the wild pitch , Moreland hit a grounder scoring another and then Addie threw a low bouncer to Rizzo on a routine play which brought in 2 more.

From that article:

“Dustin was the guy that set the example and made sure he was going to bring it night in and night out. And David definitely brought it every day he played. But maybe not, I would say,

HUH??? David definitely brought it every day he played. But maybe not, I would say. HUH??????
well, the ROSSY audio portion of interview was the good one, lol. ;) Speaking of him, I hope he survives on DWTS tonight but 2 people go home, and me thinks he is in a tough spot. Hopefully Cub Nation voted for him last week to keep him alive this week

Where is Tommy Lasorda these days? I feel like I haven't seen him on TV in ages.
He was at the highly televised Cubs home opener Ring ceremony, a whole 3 weeks ago. :rolleyes1

OT~ but did anyone see the No-prosal on the Fenway Jumbo Tron last night? :scared: Poor guy...then an argument followed. Not even Boston's W can take the sting out of that...especially on a weekend full of media coverage about KB's parents proposal, and it cost 5x's as much to do a Fenway proposal when the game is against NYY or Cubs. Salt, meet wound.

Note, no Addie, Maddon wants him to get some rest
Also, some stats:
Cubs bullpen was 6-for-10 in save chances in April and posted 2.87 ERA, the top mark in NL and 5th best in MLB

starters have given up 26 ER in 1st inning (9.75 ERA). They have a 3.12 ERA in the 2nd inning or later

Tony Kornheiser just said the Cubs bullpen is so shaky it feels like an earthquake every time they're out there. I have to agree.
