Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

Didn’t another team try that last year?
The Dodger's , but their park rules prohibit ALL flags. I don't see anything prohibiting flags on the Nationals page. On the up side, it keeps anyone from flying their W flag too early

Banners & Signs

The Nationals welcome signs and banners consistent with the following policies and encourage fans to show their team pride. To ensure that signs, banners and fan activities do not distract from the enjoyment of sports games or other forms of entertainment, the Nationals require all guests to adhere to the following policy within the ticketed areas:

1. Composition

Banners and signs must be handheld and must: (a) utilize only cloth, paper or other light flexible materials, and may not be comprised of or supported by wood, metal or other hard materials that could be dangerous in a crowded public setting, (b) not be affixed to or draped over any part of the baseball park structure, whether facing inside or outside of the baseball park, and (c) be no larger than 2 feet by 4 feet.

2. Display

Banners and signs may be displayed only (a) within the ballpark's seating area, (b) in a stationary manner, (c) in a manner that does not obstruct any person's view of the playing field or interfere with player or umpire sightlines, (d) so as not to obscure baseball park signage, equipment or advertising, (e) so as not to impede the operation of the ballpark, and (f) so as not to interfere with the game or jeopardize the safety of guests. Only one sign or banner may be displayed by each guest.

Yup, that's salty BS. Apparently they don't think they are going to win tonight. I googled and couldn't find a story but it just popped up on my FB feed.

That's just wrong on so many levels. Scum sucking dogs. If there was another game there, I'd say, just wear them under your shirt Maybe we should ban their towels when they're at Wrigley.

Edit

Just saw two Knats (not a typo) fans with two huge signs on wooden poles. So our white flags with W are not okay, but let in lethal weapons with huge obscuration potential. Total excrement from a male cow!!!

those were the nat's "chearleaders"~ the march around along with the prompt videos to cheer. That's OK...let them dream for a day.

Just can't trust our pen (except Davis) for a damn thing. I'm not sure why Maddon kept Edwards in to face a lefty, and Harper of all people. He should have brought Monty in right away. Then Maddon's lack of small ball throughout the game (i.e. advancing runners) results in no additional run support.

can someone explain to me why Harper always has a teammate take his helmet off? Is he incapable? Is he afraid to get pine tar in his mangy mop? Such a Diva. Honestly..it's weird. I would also like to thank he Ump for calling CJ's pitch RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE a ball~Lind would have been out. Harper may have still jacked the homer but it wouldn't have tied it. We had our chances to add on and didn't. Was hoping no pressure on Q with a 2 game lead and tons on Sherzer down 2. Oh well~thought *maybe* Monty was coming in to face Harper, but he gave up the homer(barely) to Zimmerman so prob wouldn't have been a difference as to who threw to Harper

ETA: Found the 411 on the helmet deal

at least there's an explanation for it other than Diva lol

From Cubs.com:

"You're not going to knock us down," Rizzo said of the defending World Series champions. "We gave up a home run to Rajai Davis to tie the game in the eighth inning [of Game 7 in the World Series against the Indians]. It's part of the journey. You've got to embrace it. It's obviously not a good feeling to lose the way we did, but it's part of it. It's part of the experience."

Rizzo delivered a great interview, so did CJ. Everyone ragging about CJ's pitch to Harper..I was mad at the one to Lind~ honestly, more games have been changed this year by Ump calls across the league. Well the offense of both teams has been a bit meek coming off the rest days, I know, great pitching and all that, but they are both waking up now. Gonna be a bit more offense happening at Wrigley I thin~ for both teams. If we win tomorrow Stasburg will pitch game 4, or at least part of it. I am anxious to see Jake out there, been a while.

That umpire was horrible all night. Calling balls way above the strike zone strikes for the Knats on a regular basis, but like you said...one right down the pipe from CJ (or others) a ball. Not only was his strike zone bad, so was consistency.

Both teams were getting the same calls. The game was not decided by umps. It was decided by bad pitching from the Cubs pen.

And the announcers were calling them "high" strikes".
