The radio station I listen to announced it while I was driving home from work. They played a wonderful set of her music. I saw her perform many moons ago. Sad to hear of her passing.

man, she was one in a million, it is really sad. I remember her just receiving yet another award last month, I think she has almost 30, which is amazing and well deserved. Wow...really bummed.

I wasn't familiar with her until I watched an episode of "Arthur" (the kid's cartoon on PBS) where she was a guest star along with Taj Mahal.
