:grouphug: Becky.. sorry to hear that DD's back is still on hold. an she has to wear the brace. Eric has a friend that is wearing the brace too. not a fun thing.:grouphug: Hoping she doesn't need surgery and she gets better..

Good morning! What a difference a few days make!

Sam Cody looks so cute. Alex is jealous of Hershey too since the big goof follows me around.

Last night we were watching Underdog that was a pretty good movie, never got to the theater to see it.

Geffric I have not had Carson's for years is it still as good. I remember one on Cumberland it that still there?

Becky I feel your pain Chuck E Cheese :scared1:

LMR1991 :welcome:

Sam - I love love love the puppy!!!!! :goodvibes
I'm so glad that he's being good for you, and I hope that continues :wizard:
Are you going to take him to any puppy kindergarten or obediance training?
I took both of my dogs to puppy kindergarten, and it was great for socialization. I also took my German Shephard to 2 types of obediance classes and that was great too :thumbsup2

geffric - good luck with getting those letters done :wizard:
How were your ribs??
They sound yummy!!! :goodvibes

LMR1991 - Welcome, welcome, welcome!!!! :wave2:
Thanks for coming to this thread!!!
Please come by often and visit - we would love to get to know you!!!!! :goodvibes

Becky - I"m so sorry to hear about your DD's back :guilty: So many hugs to her   I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers that she doesn't have to have surgery. Please keep us updated - as you know, we are always here to listen!!!!

HERSEY - I want to see Underdog, but Stephanie didn't like it :sad2: Her and my mom went to see it during the summer, and she wasn't impressed. I'm going to have to rent it, because I really want to see it. If she doesn't want to watch it, then she can stay upstairs:rolleyes: Do you think Katie will like it, or will there be scary parts for her?

Well, that's about it from me today
I need to go wake up the girls, because they need to get ready to go to Home Depot with Kevin to make their project - I think it's a princess thing this week. They really enjoy going to these.

Have a good day today!!

Slo I haven't had to think about scarey parts for along time. I think Katie would be fine. What movies or shows does she think are scarey?

Underdog is definitely not Harry Potter scarey.

Good morning everyone. I went back and caught up on all the posts.
Becky, sorry to hear about the increasing curves in your DD back. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers and hope for the best for her at your next visit.
piglettoo, we have tickets and so does Bunchkin for the Sherrerville HM movie for Saturday Feb. 2nd at the 2:30 show. Bunchkin and I talked about meeting at Culvers for lunch before the show. You are welcome to join us if you would like. I would suggest you order tickets now as they will be sold out by then (if they aren't already).
Slo, Katie would love Underdog. I rented it on one of those really cold days we had and the kids and I watched it. I thought it was cute and so did the kids.
Sam, your new puppy is adorable. I don't envy you those puppy training days. I am so glad to be done with potty training. The only problem we have is that since we always just let Tiggs out often, now he will stand by the door but never barks or does anything to let you know he has to go out. So if you aren't paying him attention, you miss the sign and he will still have the occasional accident near the door. Funny, if he has to poop he will scratch at the door, though. But not if he only needs to pee. :confused3
Have you heard from Bunchkin? She never posts anymore. I miss her. Tell her I said hello. I was really hoping to get together with her and the kids over break, but the time has just flown by and now break is over. Kyle really wants to play with Hunter.
I hope all of you working on your trips find good airfares. It seems expensive any time to go now. I keep watching for Dings, but you really have to be able to be flexible and drop everything to go last minute for those to work out for you, or be willing to pay $$$ if it doesn't and you have to buy 1 month out. We may be returning to DL in June for our friend's son's wedding. Not sure if it will be big or small event so we may or may not receive an invite. If not, I think I may plan to go before Christmas next year and catch a Christmas party. I really enjoy October, but it did seem more crowded last year than the first time we went.
Well, better run. We are baking cookies today. Made so many before Christmas to give away and then we had none for ourselves.:lmao: Because I need another cookie don't you know.:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rolleyes1

:surfweb:

Mac - I got my email notification too   H
How are your boys doing? Did you have them all home for the holiday?
I've been meaning to ask, and then I forget.

Well friends, I gotta go jump into the shower
Have a good day today!!

hi slo, thanks for asking.
2 sons were let go of their jobs.
one happened after thanksgiving the other was on thursday.
all sons live at home again.

Okay, let me give the puppy picture a try!!

cody2.jpg

Cody is a very smart puppy and is about 99% potty trained. We keep an eye on him to make sure he don't sneak off and do his business out of sight. But, he can "sit" already, and he knows what I mean when I say "downstairs" and "outside".

that puppy is a cutie!!

Hi! Just wanted to say that I recently found this thread after being on here for quite a while!
From Highland.
:welcome:
we are so glad you are joining us.
don't be shy, come back and play more with us.

We are obviously back from DD's appointment. The good news is "her back looks the same as when she arrived". The bad news is one of her lesser curves has gotten worse. As of right now, we are just going to continue the bracing but if her curves increase any, it's going to be time to talk surgery. Our next appointment is in 6 monhts. So, we definitely need to make sure she's wearing her brace as much as possible -- the doctor said the longer the better. I know there have been occassions where I've let her slack off a little but we are going to have to be stricter now just from the way the doctor said "she has a really big curve" sounds like we are looking closer & closer toward surgery. Keep the prayers that doesn't have to happen.

Now that's over with & I had a tooth pulled on Tuesday, so all the medical junk is sort of behind us. I do have to go back on Tuesday to make sure everything is healing with my tooth since it was a tough one to get out. It was in really bad shape. I will be getting an implant tooth to replace it.

Next on the agenda is DS-10's birthday is next Saturday. I'm still trying to get in touch with 2 of his friends as I think we are going to hit Chuck E Chese for his birthday -- HELP ME NOW....   :scared1:

keeping dd in my prayers for a healing.
i know that is difficult for her to wear the brace all the time.

hope your gum heals fine. that has to hurt having the tooth cut out.
hopefully no more pain for you becky.

chuck e cheese........memories.......used to do kid parties there also

Good morning! What a difference a few days make!

Geffric I have not had Carson's for years is it still as good. I remember one on Cumberland it that still there?

yea, bring on the heat wave........

i love Carsons.
i use the one in deerfield on waukegan road.

and a very good saturday to all the chicagoland homies

Another question for you all....anyone ever have a child attend the "Illinois Youth Summer Music Program" at Champaign-Urbana?

DD is wanting to apply for that camp this summer for choir. She's a soprano & I know it says to apply ASAP after Jan. 1 if you are a Soprano because they only take so many of each range. I took a look this morning and the 2008 information is up...so that means we have to fill out the info ASAP.

We can't send it in until after school starts again because her music teacher has to sign the form & help her fill some of it out.

I'm just looking for any first-hand accounts or even 2nd hand if you know someone who went. :rotfl2: I don't know anyone who has gone, DD doesn't know if anyone else in choir is applying, so once again, she gets to go solo & randomly get a roommate. She has never gone to this camp, just Girl Scout resident camp where she never knows anyone either ahead of time. Sometimes she will see girls she knows there but they aren't usually doing the same camp she is are just there at the same time.

The few things I have read, it gets good reviews but it's not the same as having first hand knowledge. KWIM?

Becky, one of my co-workers daughters went for band last summer and had a really great time. She said it was a great learning experience as well. Her daughter plays flute and has since gone on to do many concerts and has been asked to play for different events. So I guess it was well worth it for them.
I always went there in the summers for cheer camp and volleyball camp. Always had a great time.
The campus is beautiful.

Hi,

Just slipping in on this thread, since my DS lives in the Chicago area, and we feel like it's a second home. I just got interested in the Carson's comment, and wondered which one everyone likes, since when we were in the area in October, we went to the one at Deerfield and Waukegan Road. We did enjoy it! We'll definitely go back. Enjoy everyone's talk about the Chicago area. It gives me all kinds of ideas for when we come back up.

Hi..

For everyone that asked... we went to the CArsons on Waukegan and Deerfield.. and it was very good. I haven't been to that one before.. I have been to the one on River North by the rock and roll MAcDonald's. And to one on Harlem near Foster..
YUMMY!!!

MAC I am sorry that both boys lost their jobs. At least they have you to help them and let them live at home..

My kids have never done the band camp at U of I but it is a great campus... scouts do an ILL Jamboree in Rantoul and go to an Illini game..

Geffric That's the one I was thinking of Harlem and Foster.

Wow it's warm out. I think I'm going to find something to grill tonight. I
don't think it is supposed to rain today.

I have to go mop shopping. I may look into that Shark steam mop thingy. late night/early morning infomercials got me.;)

What is everyone going to do on this strange January day?

It's actually warm here - it's 49 outside!!!
I stepped outside to get the newspaper, and I couldn't believe it - feels like Spring :flower: But I know it won't last to long - it's just a tease!!!!!:sad1:

We are just hanging around the house today, which is great!!! :thumbsup2
Kevin can rest his sore foot, and Katie has a cold, so she can rest that. I rented lots of movies yesterday, so we are doing that - all day!!!! :goodvibes I'm going to enjoy these low keys days in the winter, because when the nicer weather comes, they are very few and far between.

HERSEY - Grilling sounds good ::yes:: Now I have to think of something we can grill too :teeth:
**Katie gets very scared very easily - even in cartoons. So I always have to watch what she's going to watch so it doesn't freak her out.

Tiggggggggern - I haven't heard from Nicole in a long time, and I need to call her sometime soon. We spoke briefly before Christmas, but I had to cut our call short when a customer was coming in. When I talk to her, I will relay the message.

Mac - I'm so sorry to hear that 2 of your boys lost their jobs :guilty: I'll send tons of PD their way to find new jobs soon :wizard: :wizard:

Becky - I don't know of anyone that has gone to that program, but if I find one, I will ask, and then let you know :)

wdwfam - WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME!!!!:wave2:
Thanks for coming to this thread, and please know you can come visit anytime - we would love to have you!!! :goodvibes

geffric - :wave2:

Well, I gotta go check on Miss Katie - I hear her blowing her nose alot.
Have a good day today everyone!!

Good Morning! It's quite foggy here in the NW corner of the state. DS drives back to college today:hug: , so I'm hoping for clearer skies by the time he sets off. This familypopcorn:: :surfweb: :cool2: princess: will be in WDW come June.
We will be visiting Chicago on March 31 to see The Jersey Boys :dance3: and do some shopping/dining. Should be an excellent day:thumbsup2

Well, life is going back to normal today.:surfweb:
Here I am at 5:30am :faint:
I have to wake Stephanie up in an hour and battle with her to get her out the door on time.
I have to work everyday until 7pm
Yep........I liked life alot better during the holidays ::yes::

dzneelvr - Where does your son go to school? :teacher: I hope he got there safely.

geffric - I was a mean mom too ::yes:: I told Stephanie her new DS is mine, and she can only have it when she asks M-F now that school is back in session. She wasn't very happy with that. since that thing has been attached to her hand the last 2 weeks

Mac - Thanks for the listings!!! :)

Well, I'm off to start my morning
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hi Everyone!

Gotta love this weather. But, like SLO said, it's just a tease! However, if you think about it, winter is a finite thing and it only has so many days in a year. So, for everyday that's bearable (like today), it's one less day that is unbearable.

Thanks for all the complements on the puppy. We only had one accident this week and that was right after giving him a bath. Guess that warm water made him have to tinkle. :rotfl: I don't think we'll do obedience training or anything as he seems like such a low key puppy. If I see behavioral issues crop up, we might. He isn't a very good leash walker that's for sure, but we could work on that this summer.

Tiggerrn, Bunchkin and I went out to lunch right after Xmas and she's doing well. I wish she would post more often again, but I think she's a bit Disney'd out. Not sure how that happens since we won't be going back until June now and I'm just achin to get there. I have a hard time seeing it on TV even. :sad2: I was going to call her this week, so I'll tell her she's missed!

Well have a good week everyone. I think I may take a walk to Bath & Body Works at lunch since it's so nice out!! That Chocolate/Amber body lotion smells pretty awesome. Not chocolately exactly, but very nice. It's only a few blocks away and it will be nice to get outside and enjoy the "springiness".

:cloud9:

Take care

Sam

So far so good today. Got all the kiddos where they were supposed to be on time. I'm sure I'm in for some grumps when school is over.

I was listening to the radio and they said the high could get to 61 today. If it does it will be a record. Yep...61 in January is definitely NOT normal. I'm not complaining, I love it but just kind of weird.

Hi all!!! :wave2:

I have been MIA for too long!!
And it's nice to see I'm being missed, I missed you all too!!

Sam is right.....I can of am DISNEY'd out. Sort of!
We've had a lot of Disney trips over the past 4 years.
But we do talk of it from time to time. We are tenativly planning to go back in 2009 when Universal opens the Harry Potter/ Hogwarts section. We will go there and to WDW too.
And this year's Thanksgiving we are planning to be at Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri for a week.
We need a change of pace vacation. I need a vacation where I can relax!!:rotfl: Not run around from ride to ride!!! ;)

Family has been good. The holidays were nice and I'm glad they are over. ;)

Love this weather!!! :goodvibes
Hope everyone is well! :goodvibes

Tiggerrn We've busy too, so it's ok we weren't able to get together. Maybe we can plan something soon. We should talk about what time to meet for lunch before the Hannah concert. I'm thinking early, because we will want to be at the theatre early before the show in order to get good seats. Remember what happened at Meet the Robinson's??? Packed theatre!!!

Sam Cute puppy!!!! That's so great he is already so well trained!!!
Has the breader done any drive-by looky-loos?? :goodvibes

slo What happened to Kevin's foot? Hope Katie and Kevin are feeling better soon! :goodvibes

HI to everyone!!!!

Gotta run for now but I'll try to get back soon!!
