Hi,
I went to the mall and am back. I bought way too much at Gymboree last weekend and today I was pretty good. Just got DD her Easter dress at Carson's Goodwill sale.

Hey, question for you guys. After talking to my cousin about her WDW planning she left me confused. She insisted with me that there was a dining plan where you could get just ONE meal a day. I said she was wrong and that there is only one dining plan and that it includes the three meals. Am I wrong? I am never wrong when it comes to Disney. I need to know so I can set her straight!
OR I have to tell her she was right!

there is only the one dining plan at disney.
there are some specials that pertain to groups. it is a package and they get room, tickets and food vouchers. school band groups and others of that nature, are those groups that get this promo.

about 4 years ago, you could buy the vouchers. i used to see them on ebay for sale a lot. disney no longer does this program. it was fazed out.

about 10 years ago, disney had the program for 2 meals a day but you had to book it as a package. it didn't last long and was dropped.

slo, i LOVED the movie Departed.

i went to see it twice in one week.
i enjoyed the book it was adapted from. i was overwhelmed with the name acters that were in the movie.

if is my fave..........now that i said that, once you see the movie you will realize how twisted i am.

i plan to buy the dvd on it to see the deleted scenes from the movie.

i enjoyed the movie better the second time i saw it. i picked up more insight then.
jack nicholas worked without a full script in the movie. he changed things around and the director encouraged him to continue that way.

i hope you don't say yuck once you watch the movie tonight. it isn't a movie that you would want your kids to see. some bad language in it and the violence might/will be disturbing to them. it shows a life style that young children would not understand

We're back. We went to Yorktown and had lunch at Famous Dave's. Wow that was good. Can you believe we forgot to go to the Disney store?
I bought some organizers for my computer desk, I'm tired of thing falling over.

I really need to think about dinner but I'm more tired from walking around.

Mac I was trying to think of where we should eat too when we are in WDW. We have our fav's but want to try some new places.

are you looking for counter service or table service?
i'll list mine and why if you give me some more imput.

some places i am tired of. after going to disney since 1974 and regularly since 1992, i have to been many of the eateries.......

I really don't have a preferance we eat and both. I think I want to try the Crystal place maybe lunch or dinner, Le Cellier and then I'm stuck. I don't know where to eat in Downtown Disney. I think maybe Coral reef in epcot for lunch one day. I know I have time but I want my list a little more settled.

crystal palace has always been a regular for me.

if you do a breakfast there and take a late seating, they will let you stay for the lunch buffet. you pay the breakfast charge only.

i prefer the dinner much better over the lunch buffet there. more of assortment on the main dishes and meats. you get fish, pasta, prime rib, turkey, etc. the dessert offerings are greater at the dinner selection than lunch.
i don't go there for the characters but the food.

if you like steak, you will like le cellier. i found that concourse steak house at the contemporary is as good.

coral reef in my opinion has gone down hill. it used to be great but now its not the same. i think when the change of chefs happened the quality changed with it.

portabella's in dtd has been good. reasonable menu choices on the dinner menu. i was satisfied with it last year.

earls is very good and cheap for disney. the line is always long but fast moving. if you want counter service, try that place.

alfredos is closing at the end of july. a new place will replace it. a ts and a cs will start up sometime later this year there.

i did not care for biergarten's dinner last year. it has been the only disappointing ts i had.

now i am hungry.
i'm heading out for chinese soon.

Mac Thanks. I wanted to go to Coral, we didn't go last year it's so pretty there. We usually do counter serve in Epcot. How's the Mexican restaurant in Epcot?

I love the Coral Reef. Lunch is definitely a better idea than dinner, as the prices increase at dinner.

I've also always loved the Cape May Clambake, although it's beginning to get hard to get into anymore. I'm not one for making PS's, so I usually just walk in and see what I can get.

Another one we enjoyed immensely was the All-Star Cafe at the Wide World of Sports. CarolAnnC and I walked in there once when the place was practically empty. Since it's out of the way, unless there's something going on at the WWoS, it should be easy to get into. We got chitty chatting with the cast member waiting our table, as we generally do, and they turned us on to their relative who managed Boma's. So, we went to Boma's that night and asked for the manager and were taken very good care of. As it happened, we were having a small DIS meet at Boma's that night, so the manager had the chef make us up a special dessert tray and delivered it to our table. Needless to say, everyone at the table had a phenominal night.

Another restaurant I enjoy a lot is Boatwrights at Dixie Landings. It's not the *greatest* food, but I've always enjoyed the atmosphere and the food is enjoyable. The last time were there, they had the exact same menu as Olivia's did the night before, just the names of the entrees were tweaked slightly.

In December, we enjoyed the new Turf Club in SSR. And, of course, you *never* go wrong with O'Hana's. Go late and grab a table by the window to view the MK fireworks.

If you enjoy ribs, hit the Trails End Buffetaria at Ft. Wilderness. If the older waiter named Bob is still working there, try and get his area. He's just a heck of a lot of fun. We once ordered our drinks and told him to bring us big glasses as we drink a lot. He brought each of us our own pitcher with a straw in it, and no glasses. So, we all sat through dinner drinking straight from our pitchers.

If you want something quiet and out of the way, the Sand Trap Grill at Osprey Ridge golf course is a real hidden gem. When we were turned on to it by a CM, we were told that many Disney executives eat there because few of the guests know about it. It closes early, around 5-6pm, but it's good food. Mostly burgers and sandwiches.

For something upscale and enjoyable at a bit higher cost, don't miss Fulton's Crab House on the Empress Lily.

Off property, Pebbles, at the Cross Roads was extremely good, but I believe I read on a food board (chowhound.com) that it may be closed now. We didn't have time to get over there in December to verify that or not.

However, we did make it over to Celebration in December and at the Celebration Towne Tavern. Walking into that place is a like a teleporter straight to Boston. CarolAnnC is from Boston and often misses the various things that you just can't find outside of Boston. She *LOVED* this place!! They serve hotdog buns that are sliced incorrectly, just like in Boston. ;) And, as we were leaving, we ran into a few of Webmaster Pete's friends going into the place. They explained that they felt this place had the best clam chowder in the entire Orlando area. I know for a fact that we will definitely go back.

if you like steak, you will like le cellier. i found that concourse steak house at the contemporary is as good.

You know, Le Cellier always gets high reviews. Yet, I've eaten in there three times and have just never been impressed. I guess I'm just spoiled by all the excellent steakhouses here in Chicago to accept anything less in steak. Of course, if it wasn't so highly rated, I probably wouldn't expect as much and would probably think it's great, so I may be looking for too much from them.

Crissup Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking about Boma's too. I like trying new places. Alex need adventure. Maybe a trip Over to AKL is just the ticket :thumbsup2

Aside from those that just can't deal with anything interesting, Boma's generally get's rave reviews. Personally, I don't find it *that* exotic, but then, I like different foods and am willing to eat most anything. But truthfully, along with the dishes that resemble some sort of spicy quiche with ground beef in it (Just my quick description) and other items like that, they do have the usual Mac&Cheese, chicken planks, spaghetti and sauce, etc. So, even the most picky will still be able to eat. I *love* the soups there. They have some great soups. Stuff like seafood chowder with coconut milk, etc. And of course, everyone loves their dessert section. The Zebra Domes always get rave reviews.

Ok Ok I'll go. Now my pork chops don't sound as good.:rotfl2: Thanks again for the suggestions.

That's what I love about these boards...
One minute you are talking and reading about day to day life (ie. the weather, school, work, etc.) and the next thing you know you're talking or reading about WDW!!!!! My favorite subject...especially ADRs!!!!
:disrocks:

hi..

Hersey Boma is fun and I do like to try different things there. Geoff and I try and go on everytrip. DH and Eric don't like it at all 'cause they have "funny" spices. I went to Ohana for the first time last trip and will be going back. I thought the food was good. I like Beaches n Cream, goes with my motto of eating dessert first. But last time I did have food there ( a beef in sauce on a bun thing) and it was good.

We have never eaten at the TS Mexican restuarnat only the cs one. The boys geta Mexican sampler . I get a Taco salad.

Tusker House at AK is good and so is the BBQ place.

I'm thinking this time around I'm picking places because of dessert choices.:thumbsup2 Last time we were at artist point and had their berry cobbler :cloud9:. Need I say I had to walk around the resort awhile I don't think the evelator would have left the ground floor.

Slo- hopefully Ill be back real soon, I miss coming on here everyday :guilty: The girls are doing fine, I am doing good. My mom is a work-aholic, she said she will come back on.

I'm thinking this time around I'm picking places because of dessert choices.

Ahhh... Dessert!! Unfortunately, one of my favorite things. ;)

Cape May Clambake has always been known for their desserts. While many people don't feel their dessert section is nearly as good as it was 10+ years ago, it's still better than most. I love the little cheesecakes.

Of course, as mentioned, Beaches and Cream is a must do if you like ice cream sundaes and shakes.

If you don't already belong, take the DVC sales tour at SSR. When it's done, they'll drop you in their free ice cream parlor. If you already own DVC, go visit your guide. It's good to catch up on things and you'll still enjoy free ice cream. ;)

Ghiradelli's has killer hot fudge sundaes. Until you've enjoyed one of their sundaes, you're still just an amateur. ;)

Of course, no one ever feels right about walking through Adventureland without stopping for a Dole Whip. :)
