I recorded Lost tonight I'll watch it after the World fair tomorrow. I just cleaned up the kitchen from making the Romanian pancakes my grandma used to make me.

I listened to Idol tonight Paula is such a joke. Some of the ladies tonight were very good. Sorry Mac I'm suffering from MP (mentalpause) tonight I can't remember what my question was.

Bunchy we need a shredding party I have paper up to my eyeballs

Ok off to bed with me, first I have to iron a shirt for Alex and put away my laundry. Where is my wife when I need her huh?

 everyone! Just a quick fly-by from me. ;)
Okay....I feel better now for getting this out of my system. :teeth:
Sorry this happened Sandy. How did it affect Stephanie? SMALL things, like this, have happened to Kelly, i.e. no snow boots, forgot to bring the right book home, etc., and I think - NO BIG DEAL but, Kelly (and MOST of the girls her age it seems) can get kinda upset. I'm sure you know what I mean. ;) I hope Stephanie was ok with it.

For dinner tonight I made Market Days Homestyle Gravy and Beef Tips and it was very good. I put it in the crock pot and let it cook all afternoon, and then I served it with mashed potatoes - it was a huge hit!!!! Which is good, because I bought 2 of them ;)
My family Loved this!!! I served it over medium egg noodles. Rice might be another idea, too. :confused3

Now we are getting TIVO hooked up so that's going to make things worse!
NAH!!! It'll be better, trust me! :thumbsup2 Record what you want, watch it when you want/can! (Maybe I'll see you at school in 9 hours?? :confused3 ;) )

As for me, I'm working 5 days/week again, part-time, for 2 different bosses right now, in the same building tho. I'm sooo confused. And, 2 other guys in the building are also interested in hiring me. If ANYONE of them could duplicate themselves into my current boss, I'd be Thrilled! THAT doesn't seem to be happening tho and, I officially am done with current boss on Friday :sad1: , altho I'm working for him on Tuesday. :rolleyes1 See why I'm confused? :rotfl:

I need some sleep! :)

'Nite all!!

Yawn, yawn, yawn!!!!!!

The storms that came over our house had some very loud thundercracks and really scared the girls (about 4:10am). They came into our room and laid on the floor together and I've been up ever since :faint: I was able to get the girls to go back into their own beds, and Katie fell asleep and is still asleep, but Stephanie is still up. She's currently laying on the couch watching Playhouse Disney. I told her that she's going to bed super early tonight (I think I will too ::yes::)

macraven - I never watched AI (the time never has worked out for me) But I will keep up with it through you guys :teeth:

Bunchkin - We were just talking about this movie at work. I was told that I would really like it, and that I would find it very funny. I will have to rent it for Steph and I to watch sometime. :thumbsup2

Debbie - I keep forgetting that you are a teacher :teacher: Thanks for letting me know from a teachers stand point that I wasn't over reacting and my email wasn't to harsh. What grade did you teach? (If you mentioned that, I'm sorry that I forgot)

Tiggerrnnn - Thanks for your response about the note. I"m so glad I'm not the only one that found this irritating :) I agree with you about getting papers back late - this happens to Stephanie too ::yes::

HERSEY - Is the World Fair at Alex's school? Are your Grandmas pancakes eaten like regular pancakes, or are they like crepes?

Kim - Thanks for asking about Stephanie :) I asked her if the teacher was mad at her, and she said no (so I'm glad the teacher was nice to her). She knows there's a note, but I didn't talk to her about what the note said.
**Serving the meal over egg noodles or rice is a great idea :thumbsup2 I'll have to give that a try sometime.

Well, I guess I should think about getting ready for work (I'm so not in the mood)
Have a good day today everyone!!

geffric Ben & Jerry's I haven't had that in years I love Cherrys Garcia

Slo Yes the World fair is a the school. The pancakes are similar to swedish pancakes because the are very thin. You spread jelly on them and roll them up sprinkle with powdered sugar (cause they aren't sweet enough)
and eat. I thought that was the most traditional food they would appeal to kids that I could think of.

Well I better get Alex off to school and get ready myself.

Happy March 1 everyone...beware of the ides of March. :lmao:

OK...now that is out of the way. My kids always think I'm  because whenever anyone says "It's March...going to be March, whatever -- my first thing I have to say is "Beware of the Ides of March" .

Slo -- just be glad it wasn't a call from the social worker about your child not being able to blow their nose yet. :confused3 I just got one of those the other day for my 1st grader. UGH!!! I'm always getting calls about something.

We HAVE been working on the blowing nose thing but he's always my kid about a year behind for coordination issues -- at least he was using the Kleenex to wipe his nose as school, just apparently not good enough.

Of course, I've also been known to get my kids in "trouble" at school for doing/not doing something that I *thought* made sense at the time. For me 1/2 day of school, gym after lunch would logically mean not needing gym shoes too.

Have you ever had something that rubbed you the wrong way, even though it's no big deal????

Today is Stephanie's gym day, and she had a 1/2 day. I asked her when she has gym and she said after lunch. So, I figured they would have no gym today and I let her wear her black leather shoes to school (I originally was going to let her go in a skirt, and then she decided not to).

So I open up her folder today, and there's this lengthy note about how she didn't come prepared for gym, and all the rules for how children are supposed to dress for gym, and all the explanations on why (the note was very stern with underlines and bold facing throughout). I thought to myself - Is this a joke????? The kid goes to school one day unprepared for gym, and this note comes home like she's been a repeat offender for the last month. It made me feel like a complete idiot as a parent, and I also have to sign this note and return in back to school, so the gym teacher knows that I know the rules - Whatever!!!!!!!

The gym teacher gave her phone number and her email, so I sent her this:

Slo, that was a heck of a lot nicer note than the one I would have sent! Believe me! Mine would have had a bit sharper tone. I think yours was very diplomatic. It's gym class, not Calculus! Oy vey!!

The thunder boomers moved over our house, but I think it was more like 5:00 a.m. ish? I can't remember. That new mattress has me sleeping pretty darn well! I might wake up only once during the night when before I was probably up 7-8 times per night. Last night, on my way home, I did a little dumpster diving. Yep! My neighbor had sitting at the street some really nice saucer sleds and one really cool look one that is shaped like a bullet. I knew they'd be gone really quick, so I threw the car in reverse and grabbed them. You would have thought I brought home GOLD!! Megan was very happy with them. Nothing like putting a smile on your kids face for FREE!! Who needs the Disney store when you can just go garbage pickin!!

Bunchkin, there's lots of uses for duct tape huh!! :rotfl:

Have a good day y'all. I like forward to seeing everyone at a bowling meet in the near future!!

Good morning everyone.
Well, the sun was out a bit when I was getting the kids ready and off to school. Now that they're gone and I actually need to get motivated to get cleaning and sorting son's room, it is raining and grey (make that dark), and I have no motivation to do anything.:rotfl:
At least this waited until after they were on the bus and at school.
Now we'll have some flooding, then another snowstorm. Hey, it's Chicago. If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change.
OK I had better move my behind out of this chair.:rolleyes1
Try to have a nice day.

Slo...I taught Kindergarten for 12 years before I became a stay at home Mom when DD was born. I loved my job but don't miss working right now (I miss my paycheck, even small as it was). I have debated about going back to sub (for extra money and flexible hours) but DS is only 16 months old so I keep putting it off. The bad thing is now as a mom I feel like I am so critical of all the places and people involved with DDs programs. I feel like in my head I am always thinking they can be doing something better. I have an early childhood and elementary degree (two certs). Well, talking to my friends who still teach, I already feel out of the loop only 4 years later! Things are a changing in education!

On to trying to get a ticker…..
Well, I got ALL excited because I called WDW this morning to see if there was a pin attached to our household and there was one under my Dad’s name. So I have her start inputting my info for the week I selected (November) and it kept telling her there was no package available. To make a long phone conversation short, it was a pin for a different promotion!!! Dates were for before June at WL. Oh well! Looks like we will be paying top dollar at DISNEY again! What a rip!

Hi, everyone - what a dreary day! It just about how I feel right now. I have a cold! Or something  I'm sniffly, sneezy and my sinuses are killing me :headache:

slo - I hope you get an apology from that teacher. I hate that people jump to conclusions like that. Rules are rules, but you know....It's like at the library - we have a "no cell phone" policy and sometimes, as soon as someone's phone rings, some of the librarians are already getting up and yelling at the person  If I see someone's phone ring, I wait to see if they tell the person "I can't talk" or something. Im not there to make people's lives impossible. As I'm sure that you wouldn't deliberately send Stephanie to school unprepared. And acting like she's a "repeat" offender, sheesh.. :sad2:

Hello everyone!!

Has everyone checked out Disney's new maps on their web site yet?
You can select all your fav places to go at WDW or DL and it will print out a little map of it.

It's still raining here. And I have no motovation today. I'm blaming it on the weather!! ;) Works for me!

Life insurance people are driving me nuts over my heart issues last year. Hello people....I'm better now. It's not like it was heart disease. Thank the Lord!!
So it's a wonderful day!! :sad2:
They are, as I type, faxing me over MORE forms to sign!!! :headache:  :sad2:

slo I think you will really like the movie 'School of Rock'. There are a couple things the kids in the movie say that might be over Stephanie's head, but in all it's tame.

Hersey Good luck to Alex on his project today!! I hope all goes well!!

Sam Megan mentioned the sleds you picked up. But she first said that you picked up 3 SLIDES!!!! And put them in your trunk!! :rotfl: Of course I asked her how you managed that!!! Then she said it was sleds!! Aahhh, that makes more sense now!! :rotfl:

Well, I'm being kicked off the computer by the munchkin/Frodo/Hunter!! ;)
It's HIS turn to play he's saying! :rotfl:

Debbie - it's still early! There's a chance something might show up, isn't there? :confused3 :wizard:

Hi, everyone - what a dreary day! It just about how I feel right now. I have a cold! Or something  I'm sniffly, sneezy and my sinuses are killing me :headache:

You might possibly have a sinus infection. I have lots of experience with these. Seems like a cold plus all the sinus pressure involved. Maybe you can see a doctor before your trip just in case. An antibiotic would really help get rid of it.
Also, we take Advil cold and sinus - got to get it at the pharmacy counter now. But it really works on the pressure and headache part of it all. And you don't want to deal with that while you're flying!!!! :headache:

I hope you start feeling better before you leave for DL!!! :)

Hi all- Happy March!
Thanks to all who asked how Matthew is doing- he's fine now. Just I'm very sick and so is Chrissy today  We have the stomach flu and it's going around to each of us :sad2: I got my stomach flu late yest afternoon and upchucking every so many minutes, actually while I was watching AI last night. Chrissy started upchucking at about 4am today. She's home sick today from school. DH didn't feel well Tues afternoon, so he got off of work a couple of hours early on Tues. Dh went to work yest and today he is leaving work early b/c Chrissy and I are sick. I'm so glad he is getting off work early to take care of us sickos :thumbsup2 He will be working from home for his job this afternoon, so I won't be able to be on the computer this afternoon.
Always something with me, isn't it

Becky- glad all went well with your DD's back appt at Shriner's :thumbsup2
Glad to hear the back brace is working for her :cool1:

Slo- sorry to hear about the note from the gym teacher :sad2: GLad you were able to send her a note back you wrote. As of gym shoes and gym, at the beginning of the school yr at our school, they want each child to bring an extra pair of gym shoes with all their school supplies. It's part of our school supply list each yr. They can be somewhat worn-out gym shoes that still fit(that's what I usually bring in). I think our school/school dist. incorporates this b/c they know a lot of the girls wear sandals in the spring and early fall. So when it's a gym day, the child can change into those extra pair of gym shoes.
I have had plenty of nasty notes from my kids' K teacher(no offense, Debbie ;) ) a few yrs back. I may have mentioned this before here, but I don't remember. Chrissy and Matthew's K teacher was so nasty to me. Unfortunately, some teachers I have encountered at my kids' school can be snobbish, or full of themselves. Not all teachers are like that, tho. Some teachers feel they know your kid more than you do. I've had to deal with that aspect of it. What I do is fight for what I believe in, as of your child, as the parent/parents know the child more than teachers will ever do.
Slo, glad to hear you wrote the note back :thumbsup2

Hi to all :wave2:

Hoping to watch AI tonight again, without the upchucking :)
I do like that game show that's been on after AI, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? Real cute show.

Spring Break- ours is the last week of March, also.

Talk later.

jedi-sorry to hear about your head cold/ possible sinus infection. Hope you feel better soon  :wizard:

Jedi, Rose and Chrissy pixiedust: being sent your way so you'll feel better soon.
Survivor night!!!!:woohoo:
OK really need to get a move on here. Motivation lacking but knowledge of what needs to get done is winning me over.:rotfl2:

Hello everyone!!

Sam Megan mentioned the sleds you picked up. But she first said that you picked up 3 SLIDES!!!! And put them in your trunk!! :rotfl: Of course I asked her how you managed that!!! Then she said it was sleds!! Aahhh, that makes more sense now!! :rotfl:

SLIDES! Oh my! No just two small saucer type sleds and one that looks like a bullet. I think that one may actually be for water-sliding like a boogey board, but since my kid will never do that, she can use it in the snow. Megan doesn't like getting her face wet and won't go underwater. I hope a lot of pool time this summer will help with that. It's funny how traits get passed down between generations. Dan's Mom was also like that... hated going underwater (for no apparent reason) and hated getting her face wet? Megan, who never had a major water accident or anything hates getting her face wet and says she hates going underwater, although I think she's only gone under completely like one time and it wasn't that traumatic.

Alex's World Fair went well. I hope he gets a good grade on it. Do you know he has to do a powerpoint presentation? This is 6th grade people. Oh speaking of 6th grade good thing I don't have a girl. All I have to say is were is the school dress code  Ok back now to my little rock.:rotfl:

I went over to Kohl's and Target. I really need to stay away from those stores when I have time to myself. Can you say CLEARANCE. Good thing I was starting to get hungry or I really would have gone overbudget.

How is Megan in the tub/shower?

Lauren kind of went through that stage when she was 3 or 4 (if I'm remembering the age right).
And Hunter could care less, the more water the better. In fact since our last family trip to WDW in Sept/Oct I've gotten him to actually take showers like a 'BIG BOY', so no more sitting in the tub. :thumbsup2
