If everyone and anyone who is interested in a Chicago Bowling meet can post what weekend days they have available in March and April that would help me get an idea of when everyone can go!! It would be really nice to have a big group there!!
So please post dates you think are open for you and I'll keep track and then we can officially pick a date!!

I'm free most of March and in April I will not be available Easter weekend and the weekend after that!

Not Good: March 17th
Not Good: April 7,8,9 and 14, 15.

Anyone been to the Sears Centre?

I just got notice of Thomas the Tank coming there...my 3 year old *loves* Thomas, so I'm thinking of taking him.

I just don't know about the seating. I'm wondering if I want floor seating or will we be straining our neck? OR a life-size Thomas scare the bejeezers out of him being that close. :scared: I'm wondering if something up higher would be better.

I haven't been there Becky, but maybe they have a web site to help figure out the seating.

I don't think Thomas could be too big, as they will need to have room on stage for other characters and trains!! :thumbsup2

Sounds like fun!!
My little guy loves Thomas too! :)

It's April 21 & 22 which are bad days now for a bowling meet for me! :rotfl2:

April 21 is a gymnastics competition for my DD anyway so that was out.

I figure I would let you guys pick the date & if it worked I could go because between my DD's gymnastics & cheerleading & then thrown in a couple birthdays I just let everyone else make plans and then if it works for me too, great!

They do have a seating chart there are VIP floor tickets which are front rows, then regular floor tickets (which seem a lot in this price, even though most aren't floor. :confused3 ) & some cheap side seats.

Just it's really hard just looking at the seating chart to know just how close IS that stage, etc... thought I would see if anyone had some real life perspectives.

I have to run it by hubby first to see who all is going or if it will just be me & the little guy or ???? Maybe drag Grandma along? DD can not stand Thomas though so I'm thinking if we dragged her to a live performance she may do a mutiny on me. :rotfl2: On the other hand, for baby brother that she adores, she does lots of Thomas stuff. I just think if she had a choice, she would prefer not to. I will see if the older boys might want to go too...not sure. From reading on-line the premise is a storm that Diesel, Thomas & Percy have to deal with -- those are the 3 trains in it.

between Eagle project, work and boy scouts stuff. I may be able to go on the 28th of April..

So....what's for dinner tonight gang?

I"m making cheese ravioli, salad, and garlic bread:goodvibes
The ravioli is a Kraft receipe where you bake it with the sauce - it's some good eatin!! :teeth:

Nicole - I'm not sure of dates yet - I will ask Kevin what's going on in those 2 months that he may not have shared with me  Also, did you want this to be an adults meet or with children? The reason why I ask, is because I would need to ask the grandparents when they would be free.

Well, I"m off to sit at my desk for awhile while Ms. Katie is taking her nap:cutie:

Later gaters!!

slo I was thinking it would be a family meet. So kids are welcome to come. The place I have in mind is great for kids. In addition to bowling they have an arcade, bumper cars and laser tag, as well as lots of food. And it's smoke free, if that matters to anyone! :thumbsup2

Here's the link to Brunswick Zone in Romeoville.

For you slo, it would be more to your advantage to drive to my house and then take side streets to the bowling alley, instead of taking I80 to I55. Going that route would take you way south and then have to come back north, it would just be a waste of time and gas.
The bowling alley is a short drive from my house, maybe 25 minutes.

What is it with "let's go see some shows" questions today.

I am curious those for those of you who saw Wicked...IF you had seats in the first 10 rows behind the orchestra would it be REALLY loud?

I have a chance to buy tickets in those rows (supposedly only reserved for cast & crew -- never released to public), through our school's Silent Auction but they are doing these and other things as a "Buy it Now" option. Since I won't be going to the auction and I really would like to see Wicked thought "Hmmm" these seats are also a pick your own weekend up through end of May.

I'm just wondering if we are in the first 10 rows behind the orchestra if that's TOO close and basically will we hear anything over the music?

Thoughts?

AND now onto other news -- they also have Tickets to Disney World on there but I'm baffled as to the tickets. I'm thinking convention tickets???? It's 4 one-day park hoppers but they expire on 11/3/08.

Why would you think the tickets to WDW are convention tickets?
I think they are just what they are and they are using them to make some money as a fundraiser, especially if they are part of a silent auction. If people, regular Joe types, have no clue the cost of these tickets they could get more for them then they are worth.

I have been to Wicked and I don't think the orchestra will be an issue as they are in a pit. Which is lower than the seating area and there is plexiglass there too I believe.

Do regular tickets *ever* expire????????????? That's what makes me think they are convention tickets. I don't have a problem with them auctioning them off, just the expiration date confused me. Plus, I didn't think they actually sold 1 day hopper tickets normally do they?

All the items are donated items to start with, so I know someone must have had these tickets unless they contacted Disney & Disney donated them (not likely but not impossible).

I thought they never expired until they were used & then it was 14 days after use (unless you buy the non-expired type but then they wouldn't expire on 11/3/08).

Thanks for the Wicked thoughts. I didn't know about the plexiglass. I figured they were in some sort of pit but wasn't sure the setting (I'm live under a rock...I don't get out that often to know these cultural things for shows & such. :rotfl: )

i just heard the updated weather report and it doesn't look good.....

let's hope it doesn't happen !!

About the bowling, I don't know of specific weekends that I can't do it, yet, but I think April would be better for me. It all kind of depends on my moving plans, which I haven't made yet. But I might be able to squeeze it in, even if it does conflict. :thumbsup2

If I'm able to go (which I hope I am) I will definitly come to your house, now that I know how to get there so easily :teeth:

I just ran upstairs and got my handy dandy brochure that I got in January.

You can get a one-day hopper pass for $67 and a no expiration option is N/A

2 Days and up can get a no expiration option for an extra cost.

It then says:

"Theme Park tickets and options must be used within 14 days of first use unless the No Expirations Option is purchased"

I don't see anything about expiring on a certain date - so I don't know:confused3

i just heard the updated weather report and it doesn't look good.....

Oh no!!!!

I have the news on, and I will be seeing it shortly myself :upsidedow

i know you can buy tickets from ric that is advertised thru the mousesavers.
those are convention tickets sometimes.

somebody on another thread talked about buying the convention tickets and didn't have any issues with them. they were discounted and the same as the regular tickets. the conv. tickets are sold in bulk to the company or whoever is doing the convention. i don't see why not you couldn't use them.

not have heard about any expiration dates on them before.

the tickets you get free or at a great discount from the time share tours are convention tickets or were back in 95. we did a tour off site and was able to receive 2 free one day disney tickets and able to buy another 2 tickets for $5 each.

Hi, all...happy weekend. Let's hope the snow doesn't happen!

ROSE...I'm sorry for your loss.:grouphug:

BUNCHKIN.. Are you thinking of Marcus in Addison for Happy Feet? Mark & I are thinking of going there tomorrow at 10 if the weather will cooperate! We also have tickets for the play at Drury Lane tomorrow night ("The King and I") and I already told him if it's as yucky as they are saying, I don't really think I want to go. I am a *big* chicken when it comes to driving and being out and about in snow storms!

BECKY...not a clue on those tickets. Good luck figuring it all out! And, yes, we've been to the Sears Centre. It is actually a pretty nice place...with what seems to be lots of women's bathrooms...I know you didn't ask about the bathrooms, but it's always so frustrating when the women's room line is soooo long and the guys are in and out in a sec!

SLO...Mark just called and he is planning on picking up a veggie pizza for dinner...works for me!

JEDI..I *think* you were the Grey's Anatomy fan on here?? Did you see it last night? What did you think?

DEBBIE...what cute pictures!!! Thanks for sharing! I have seen some of your pictures on the Disney resort picture thread, too...what kind of camera are you using? Your pictures are great!

MAC...Yes, please do keep posting the show times! I really do appreciate it!

LEIGH...waiting for more pictures of the new house!

KIM...I hope the girl scout cookies got to the rightful owners...we used to do popcorn sales when the boys were scouts...a lot of work those fund-raisers can be!

GEFFRIC...you have an Eagle scout? Congratulations! Quite an accomplishment!

Hi to everyone else, including any lurkers...come out and play with us!!!

Have a good evening, Chicago!:)

GEFFRIC...you have an Eagle scout? Congratulations! Quite an accomplishment!

!:)
NO he isn't an Eagle scout YET.. starting on doing his project and then the write up and all it entails.. He prob won't make Eagle until 1 year from now.. but I'll invite you all to come to the ceremony.. ( it is not a present event)

DonnaW I watched Grey's I liked it. I cryed and cryed. All the commercials made me made though. Blondie, I can't remember her name right now, is started to get on my last nerve. They could kill her off and I wouldn't mind.

We had Subway errands took longer than I thought. I hope the weather stays away. We are taking my little neighor to a movie tommorrow. Snow is one thing the icy stuff is not acceptable.
