Hey all!!! At DSIL at their computer. It is 1AM your time.
Spent yesterday in San Franscisco. Went to the Golden Gate Bridge and took some pix. Kids enjoyed climbing up the lookout spot with DH and DSIL to get a better view. I of course, could not climb so I sat in the car and enjoyed the view from my spot (which was just as spectacular). We went over to Pier 39. The place was packed, so didn't want to brave walking around on the crutches there. The Ghiradelli Chocolate factory is there too, but couldn't find a good place to park so had to admire (and smell) from afar.:rotfl:
Today we went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom for the kids. It's a real nice Six Flags park. (was wishing I'd brought along the kids free Six Flags passes from their reading program) The park there is divided into 3 areas -a Sea World type area, a zoo type area and the usual Six Flags ride area. It was a little nicer than the Six Flags at home. Came back to DSIL and her boyfriend had fixed us fresh grilled salmon, some crab, a nice salad, green beans and carrots. Best restaurant food ever right at home.
Tomorrow we leave for a visit with DH roomie from college and then on to DL. I will have access to a computer at our friends, so I will try to check in.

Slo, I am with the many who say GO enjoy your cruise. If I am off and can help you out at the store, just let me know.
party: :bday: Happy Birthday,Stephanie!!!!!

Hersey, hope you enjoyed the zoo.

DMM and Bunchkin, hope you got lots of good loot and enjoyed yourselves at the AG sale.

Well, better visit with the family. Hi to everyone. Welcome to LoveKermit. Hoe you come back often and chat. Later all.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Stephanie everyone!!! :goodvibes

She had a wonderful party, and she got everything she wanted. She was a very very happy little girl when she went to bed last night:goodvibes She did have a moment when she got a little emotional though, and said she was sad that this is her last year as a single-digit:sad1: But she snapped out of it quickly and was happy again :teeth:

Mac - I love the idea of the coupon, but I'm thinking instead of a coupon, I'll have Kevin make a banner and hang that up in the window the day before we leave that says we are closed M-F, but we will be open normal hours next week, and come join us M-W for 25% off :thumbsup2

Bunchkin - How was your weekend? I can hardly wait to hear about it!!! :)

DMM - I"m glad you had a good time, and Autumn is enjoying her new things:)

Tiggerrnnnnn - I'm glad you checked in, and thanks for the offer to help with the store - I will let you know if there's something I need help with  I"m glad you are having a good time:goodvibes I can hardly wait to hear more about your trip. Question - When you said it's the best restaurant food at home, does that mean that your SIL or her BF or both are chefs at a restaurant?

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
Have a great day today everyone!!

Morning everyone! rough night!! So i'm exhausted :) This baby likes to party at night and kick up a storm and then of course make me go to the bathroom :) I think babies like to drive their mommies crazy, it's a lot of fun for them ::yes::

Tig, sounds like a great time you are having so far!!

Sandy, what a great party when you get all you wanted :goodvibes: Glad she had fun!!

Hope everyone else had a fabulous weekend! Monday is here now and let's hope this week flies!!!!

good monday morning chicagoland homies

hope everyone has a great start for the week.

Good Monday Morning Everyone!!! :teeth:

Right now I'm waiting for my mom to come over. She is driving me to the car dealership to pick up my van. It died on Friday, right as we were leaving to go to the AG sale!!! Could have been avoided if the person who said he was going to work on my van 2 months ago for a tune up had actually done the work....that would be DH I'm speaking of!!! :sad2:
Luckily we were just in the next town over and not half way to Wisconsin!!!

Lots of heart problems over the weekend. Made my appt to see the heart doctor, but the next opening isn't until 8-23!!!! So they also put me on a waiting list if someone else should cancel. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed I get in earlier!!!

My American Girl Benefit Sale mini-trip report:

Spent WAYYYYY too much at the AG sale!!!:rotfl:
But it was wonderful the things they had and the prices!!! It was the biggest sale yet! Lots and lots of dolls!!! And tons of other stuff too.
It was just awesome having the 7am ticket!!!! I got into the warehouse in the first group allowed to enter. The selection was great!!! I scooped up all I could in 2 humongous bags I had!! And I'm so glad I did buy that 7am ticket off of Ebay, because by 11:45am when we went back for our other ticket time lots and lots of merchandise way GONE!!! There was still a lot of dolls left but tons of Historical doll clothes and accessories were gone!
As well as other merchandise.
Anyone who has never gone before SHOULD!!! I totally recommend it!!
It is a sight to be seen!! The warehouse the sale takes place in is HUGE!!!
The sale itself is run very well and organized. Not at all chaotic.
There was also additional tents set up selling really discounted bits and pieces. And a tent selling hand made clothes by someone that would fit AG dolls (this was actually set up around the corner). There was lots of food and drinks to be purchased too. And there were raffles and silent auctions.

Lauren and I will certainly be going there next year!!!
And will be booking our hotel room soon as hotels in the area book fast for this event.
If anyone is interested in going too let me know. It would be fun to have a group go there together.

Here's what we bought:
Kit doll & her accessories, her bed and nightstand and lamp, and her birthday outfit, Kit book
Felicity doll & her accessories, her tea outfit
Samantha's tea outfit and several different accessories
Molly's rain coat and boots and hat, and her radio (retired)
AG Today Spider Halloween costume doll outfit
AG Today Licorice doll outfit
Several shoes
Hangers
Storage caddy
Doll stands
Hopscotch Hill doll outfit
Coconut's bed
AG Place picture frames
Coconut School Book ( I bought several of these to use as party favors for Lauren's b-day party)
Addy's wooden spoons (again purchased several to use as a craft for Lauren's party)
Happy b-day Samantha pins (again more party favors)
Several AG outfits and shirts for Lauren to wear too.

Awesome steals you got!

Here is a link to the new historical American Girl coming out in Sept. that I found on American Girl's publishing web site. There is no info on her on their regular site yet.
Her name is Julie Albright.
She's from San Francisco around 1974! Peace, love and disco!! COOL!!

DMM Sorry we missed seeing you! We left at about 1:15pm and headed out to lunch at the big mall, Greenway Station, that was down the road and then headed straight home.
Glad you guys found some awesome stuff too!!! Did Autumn enjoy looking at everything?

Oh My God! A decade I grew up in is now considered HISTORICAL. :scared1:

I'm sure she'll be a cute doll, but I don't think my pride would let me buy her. That's like hearing 80's music on the radio called "The Oldies". Sheesh

Well, it was a good weekend at my house, productive I guess, well except for last night which turned out to be a huge waste of time and money. Well insurance company money that is...

I woke up yesterday morning with a pain in my right side, just to the right of my belly button. I thought, hmmm. that sort of hurts and it had hurt a few times on and off throughout the night and then woke me up in the morning. So, after attending a family party to celebrate a Christening, I wasn't feeling much better and the pain seemed to be getting worse and I took my temperature and it was 101.8. Okay... looks like I need to find my way to the ER.

Well after a battery of tests -- some which are blatantly designed to rob you of any shred of dignity you may have built up since the birth of your last child, I found out that I did not have appendicitis, liver problems, colon problems, or pancreas problems. I have a kidney stone, but he's just happily floating around in my left kidney, not causing an ounce of trouble. I have an cyst on my ovary (yep knew that) and that's it. So, tell me Dr., exactly what could be causing this pain in my side and why the fever? He had no idea. He said, some people are sensitive to pain and will develop low grade fevers in response to it. He said, could be muscle strain. So, after three hours in the ER, I went home. I was happy to go home. I think if it is muscle strain, I know what caused it, but it doesn't feel like any muscle strain I've ever had. I got home at 12:30 a.m. I was happy to come home mainly because I promised Megan, I'd be home by morning! I didn't have to break that one.

So, I'm at work now, pretty sleepy and looking forward to the hours ride on the train. I will be snoozing! Someone wake me up at New Lenox.

Slo: Tell Stephanie Happy Ninth Birthday!! She is working her way toward double digits, which is a real milestone! :cheer2:

Bunchkin: You got lots of cool stuff! I love Kit! She's a favorite for sure.

Tiggerrn: Glad to hear you are making the best of your vacation. I can tell you are a real trooper. But, honestly, nothing short of a full on heart attack would have kept me away from Ghiradelli! Dang girl, where's your priorities? Take that crutch and just shoo those people out of the way!! :rotfl:

Well, that's my weekend.

Sam ~ Did they check out your Gall Bladder? If you continue to have pain, make them look at it. I went through over 5 years of chronic pain that the drs passed off as nothing since they could never find a cause. Turned out to be my Gall Bladder, and once they removed it, I was so much better.

Back from a "welcome Home" celebration for a local soldier at the village hall. Very emotional, but I am glad that we went.

Hi Piglet, yep they checked out the old gall bladder seeing that I'm the Four F's. Forty, Fat, Female and Fertile. I guess that's some secret Dr. code. They said everything looked fine. And believe me they got a GOOD look. If you've ever had a lower CAT scan, you know what I mean. Sheesh.

I had a friend get her gall bladder out and she had a real tough time of it. She was always a slender girl, bigger boned, but slender and she probably put on about 70 lbs in six months. I really would have been worried had I had a gall bladder problem.

I was helping DH on Saturday push a ATV uphill back into our shed, so I think I must have strained by abdominal muscles or maybe even the abdominal wall, but I didn't feel like I hurt anything when I did it. So, when the pain started and then the fever hit, I was a bit concerned.

Thanks keeping an eye on me though, I appreciate it!!

Hi all-
Won 2 tickets to Kiddieland in Melrose Park a couple of weeks back!!
Went today to Kiddieland (the date we had to use the tickets) and just got back a couple of hours ago.
Chrissy and Matthew really love it there!! :cool1:

This is about the third year in a row I have won Kiddieland tickets :cool1: :woohoo: Feel blessed to win tickets every yr as I might not win next yr, but it's great to win something! :woohoo:

Going to the Schaumburg Flyers baseball game tomorrow night with Matthew's cub scout pack! :cool1:
I had volunteered to be the coordinator for this event, to collect money from families to buy the tix and pick up the tix from our council office in Mt. Prospect. Should be a good game tomorrow night!

Slo- Happy belated birthday to Stephanie :bday: :cake:
Sounded like she had a great day!

DMM- please take good care of yourself, just concerned for you :)

Hi Mac and Geffric :wave2:

Have a good evening.

:surfweb:

I'm tired - I was up to late paying bills last night.

DMM - I hope you were able to sleep better last night. :wizard:

Mac - How's the boys doing?

Bunchkin - Yeah....friendship bread!!! :woohoo: Stephanie would love it!!!
**Oh no about your car:guilty: I know how much you wanted to drive to Wisconsin, and that bill is not fun:guilty: I'm glad you were able to get your van back so soon.
**I'm so sorry to hear of your continued heart problems  Please please please take it easy - use this time to really relax (I know that's easier said than done when you're a mom). I sure hope that doctor has an opening sooner so you can go see him. Sending lots of PD your way my friend!!:wizard:
**Your AG trip sounds great - you got a lot of great AG stuff:goodvibes I bet Lauren is in AG Heaven:cloud9:
**Lauren's picture looks great - it's all done and I can hardly wait to deliver it :teeth:

Sam - I"m so sorry to hear about your fever and pain  How are you feeling today? I was going to ask about your Gall Bladder too, because I had my gall bladder out when I was 25. When you say tests - did they do an ultrasound? That's how they diagnosed my gall bladder. Whatever it is, I hope you feel better soon, and the pain doesn't come back

piglet too - I bet that was an emotional party - God Bless our military!!!:)

Rose - That's awesome about winning the tickets:woohoo: I'm glad you all had a great day today!!! :goodvibes

Gotta run....
Stephanie has to be at daycare early today because they are going to The Shedd Aquarium - should be a fun day for her!!!
Have a good day today!!!

Morning everyone :) I'm feeling much better today! thanks for all the condern. I slept better, but it could be due to the fact that i was exhausted! hahah! I had to complete some Pacifier holder orders and then this was my project I worked on all day:

th_ButtonCanvas.jpg

It's a canvas bag with buttons on the front flap pocket :)

======

Bunchy you are very lucky that the car problems happened in your house! although it does stink :)

Hugs to all!!!

Howdy!!! :wave2:

SamIAm Sorry to hear you're not feeling well!! I know those cat scans aren't fun...I've had a few myself!! :sad2: I hate when the doctors prod and poke and still can't come up with an idea of what is wrong!!
I called last night and left ya a message....I wanted to see how you were feeling. How are you today? Were you able to sleep on the train?
If you ever need someone to be with you for a trip to the hospital, I'm here for you!! I know it's no fun sitting there all night by yourself.....I've done it before myself. :(

slo I hope Stephanie has a great time at the Shedd! I love it there myself!! :goodvibes
I'm looking forward to getting Lauren's picture from you!!! I can't wait to see it!!!
And thanks for the concern about my heart!! I am coming to find that I am having real issues dealing with stress and anxiety.:sad2:
Lauren did get a lot from the AG sale....BUT....a good chunk of it will be split between her birthday in October and Christmas. She's fine with that. Of course she'd like it all now.....but she'll wait!! :)

piglet A welcome home party is a wonderful thing to celebrate!! :cool1:

DMM How many buttons are on that bag?? :teeth:

Kids are busy watching an Underdog dvd that we have had for a couple years! It has a bunch of episodes from the old cartoon show.
They are looking forward to seeing the new Underdog movie when it comes out!

Anyone seen the new HP movie yet? We have yet to go. Just wondering what others opinions are of it.

Howdy!!! :wave2:

I got the message sort of late and I didn't want to call you back that late. I think I must have been out with Megan walking around the block. She wanted to take Bitty for a walk and I learned something last night, Megan cannot walk and talk at the same time. She would stop every time she wanted to tell me a story or relate something that happened during her day at camp. I finally said, Megan can't you walk and talk at the same time? It takes 10 minutes to walk around our block, last night was 30 minutes???

My pain is much better and actually it was fine all day yesterday too. I'm pretty convinced it was just a bad muscle strain or pull. I did try to get my leg out from underneath the blanket last night and it pulled again, but it wasn't that bad.

Yes, I was able to doze off on the train and luckily I set my alarm on my cell phone. It has Stitch yelling to Wake Up. It woke me up and the lady in front of me too. She was grateful as her stop was next.

I have found out that if you need to get into an ER really fast, complain of bad pain on your lower right side and then tell them you are running a fever. I went straight back to the exam area. The longest wait was waiting for a CAT Scan technician. She was a really sweet lady too, thankfully, because being filled with radioactive water is not exactly my idea of fun. She was really really sweet through the whole thing. She told me that movie stars pay big bucks to have a colonic like that. I said, well I might not be a movie star, but something tells me this CAT Scan ain't going to be cheap! So, at least I know, I'm clean as a whistle. :rolleyes1

Here's a funny story, I was sitting there getting checked in at the ER and another "clerk" rushed up to the lady helping me and said, you may want to go wash your hands and wipe down your desk. The lady you helped a little while ago was diagnosed with full blown TB (tuberculosis). I leaned away from the desk and asked if they had some hand sanitizer!! :scared: Sheesh, like that's something you want to hear ya know!

Hospitals have way too many sick people in them! :rotfl:

Thanks for offering though Bunchkin, that is really sweet!

Well I am serious, I am on the way to the hospital from your house and NO ONE should have to go there alone if it's at all possible!! :goodvibes

Glad you're feeling better.

TB!!!!

Yeah, actually I went all the way to St. Joe's! Silver Cross is too scary for me! I heard it has improved greatly, but they know me at St. Joe's with all my records from Megan's birth and the kidney stone. So, it just seemed better to go over there.

Thanks again though! And, if there is another late night run to the ER, I will keep you in mind!
