I've left Silver Cross on 2 occasions due to over crowding in the ER waiting room and for over all scariness!!!!
Including when Hunter broke his arm last December.

I tend to go to Palos, because Silver Cross is too scary for me. First time I was there they kept me for two days for nothing. My doctor was able to tell what had been wrong right away. The second time was when Nathan was taken there after he almost drowned. I have no desire to ever go back to that ER, just bad memories now. Since all of our doctors are affilated with Palos, it is just easier to go there. (Otherwise it is Loyola, since that is where they are truly out of.)

Sam ~ I had my gall bladder taken out when I was 24. Took them 5 years to look at it since I was so young. Turns out the stone was pencil shaped in the duct and no CT scan or u/s would have ever found it.
Glad to hear you are feeling better today though. The TB thing is just scary!!

Hi everyone! I booked my Segway tour for DL for Aug. 19. :cool1: And I got a $20 discount due to AAA. :cool1: :cool1:

Now I'm looking at my MNSSHP trip for October. Due to work, I narrowed it down to Oct. 11-21, and I think I'm going to go from Oct. 11-14, doing the party on Oct. 11.

Now I'm looking at rooms. It's between POR and WL. I'm only planning to do MK and Epcot on this trip.

POR--I've stayed there before and I like it. Boat ride to DTD if I want to go there. But I have to take buses to the parks, which is a pain.

WL--Never stayed there. (The room available is Courtyard View w/ bunk beds, which I don't need, but whatever.) Not on the monorail, which I was hoping for, but there is the boat to MK and then the monorail to Epcot, so that would be ok, and much better than the buses. But it's twice as much as POR.

What to choose, what to choose....

ETA: I get a discount, so even though the WL is twice as much as POR, it's still only about what POR would normally be. It's not WL full-price.

I'm leaning toward WL. ;)

afternoon chgoland homies.

sam, that had to be scary. doing all those tests and witih the pain. hope you are feeling better soon.

bunchkin, i feel for you on the car trouble. i hope it didn't ruin your day.
hope you can get in to the cardiologist before the end of august. hopefully, you will snag a cancellation and get in earlier.

rose, i bet you had fun at kiddie land. take any pics?
how is the job search going for dh?

dmm, hang in there, only a few more months of sleepless nights with trips to the bathroom. come later in october, it willl be more sleepless nights taking care of new baby.

and i forgot what else i was going to say.

Hi friends!!! :wave2:

I've been sitting in my office all day trying to go through a bunch of stuff on my desk. It's amazing how fast this stuff accumulates:eek:

It's cloudy outside today - where's the sun??:confused3

DMM - I'm glad you were able to sleep better last night :)

Bunchkin - I made Stephanie wait until her birthday too to get her AG clothes and accessories. She was fine with that too ::yes::
**I would definitly tell your doctor what stress and anxiety do to you. Maybe they can prescribe something to help you with that.

Sam - I'm glad you are feeling better today :) All I can say about the TB is :scared1:

piglet - Nathan almost drown:eek: How scary!!!! How old is he now? Many hugs to you for that bad memory

Leigh - I"m going to push you to lean even farthur towards WL - I love that place!!! :goodvibes I'm sure Janice will push you even harder because that's her favorite resort.

Well, I'm gotta go back to work

I'm back to say hi to Mac :wave2:
We posted at the same time.

Hi My Chicagoland area friends,
Busy, busy summer days, huh!
Sounds like everyone is having lots of fun and doing well! Sorry SamIAm and Bunchkin are dealing with some health issues. I’ll send pixie dust your way:wizard:! Macraven hope your DS’s are doing better too! DMM glad you are feeling well and taking care of yourself. Slo…hope you made up your mind not to cancel your trip and I hope business is getting better. HI to everyone else. It’s NEVER intentional if I miss giving you a shout out!I have been trying to keep up with the reading but then am too tired too post.

We have been doing lots of fun stuff. Besides Wisconsin we went to the Brookfield zoo, Pirate’s cove and tomorrow are heading to Rainbow Falls Water Park. The day we went to the zoo we BY CHANCE went on the day Hannah Montana’s best friend and brother (real actors) were there! It was very exciting for DD. Even though she is only 4 she loves those programs! The line for autographs was outrageous but because DD is only 4 I could still get away with skipping that. I guess there was even an article in the newspaper about how crazy it was there!

Well, take care everyone! Good luck with all your ventures whether they are domestic engineering tasks or jobs outside the house....or even trip planning ventures (congrats on the plans Leigh),. See ya all later!

Slo ~ Nathan is now 8, but was still 7 when it happened. Worst day of my life, but everything worked out and he is just fine now. We are still dealing with some emotional issues, but he will be seeing someone for that soon. It is kinda weird that I won't go to that hospital again (by choice, of course if an ambulance is needed, there is not much I can say about it) plus I still get goosebumps when I see an ambulance responding to a call.

Can't imagine you having to go though that!! I am so sorry! It's one of my biggest fears since we always seem to be around water! I am SO......glad it all worked out OK for you in the end.:wizard:

Just a quick hi..

I am packing and getting ready to leave tomorrow for vacation at WDW.. I am going to work in the morning and the boys have finals then we take off..

Lucky you! Have a fabulous trip! I hope you post pix when you get back! I would love to hear about your trip!

geffric I hope you have a great trip

Debbie We were planning to go to the zoo on sunday but I heard about that and thought no way am I standing in any line. Beside the lawn needed to get cut so we went to see Harry Potter in the afternoon.

Bunchkin I thought the movie was very good a little less scary then the Goblet of fire.

Leigh Bunchkin can fill you in on POR. As Sandy said WL is my fav. not trying to push you into spending more money. Its really nice not having to go outside to get your coffee or drinks snacks etc. I always liked camping (cabin) in wisconsin that's the feel I get when I'm there. It was a Homey feel about it.

Piglet so sorry to hear about Nathan's scare How horrible for you too.

Hi to all I have to get down to business.

. ;)

WL is beautiful designed by the same peron as AKL.. Very nice. But then I like POR too..

Hi all-
Won 2 tickets to Kiddieland in Melrose Park a couple of weeks back!!
Went today to Kiddieland (the date we had to use the tickets) and just got back a couple of hours ago.
Chrissy and Matthew really love it there!! :cool1:

Going to the Schaumburg Flyers baseball game tomorrow night with Matthew's cub scout pack! :cool1:
.

Rose is so very nice to see you and visit with your family I did feel guilty that we couldn't spend a lot of time ketchuping.. But next time. Hope things work out for your DH.. Your kids have grown so much.. I was great to see them again.

Hope you had fun at Kiddeland and the flyers.

Thanks for the kind words about our trip.. I am really looking forward to it and hope that the kids don't fight the whole time.. :confused3 But this is the food trip. we have never done DDP so i have reservations for a lot of TS resturants that we have never been to.. Dh is very skeptical about it.. he is worried that he won't like it ( he is very happy with a burger and fries) and that he won't have enought food..:confused3 guess we will see..

Oh he will absolutely have enough food!

i've done the ddp twice.
you get more than enough food.

last year i gained 10 lbs........and was on the ddp

:wave2:

slo I'm hoping too that the DR puts me on something to better handle stress so that it doesn't create more heart problems.
Stephanie must have just loved finally getting to have all her stuff she picked out from AG!!
We are taking Lauren there for her b-day too! It's a tradition. It's usually just her and I but this year we are including the boys....well, maybe just dad. Hunter has been there before but he gets bored QUICK!!!;) :)

Hersey Thanks for the HP review and I'm glad to hear that it isn't as scary as the last. What about the big wand fight scene though?

geffric Hope you and the family have a great time at WDW!!! Please take pics and share them!!! Your DH will have tons of food to eat on the DDP!!!! We've done the plan 4 times now and it's more food than we can handle!!!!! :)

Leigh Your resort choices are hard!! :rotfl: I have always wanted to stay at WL. I've visited there and just love the look of it!!
POR is really nice! And depending on which area/building you are in the walk to food/store/lobby area is not that bad. The grounds are just wonderful!!
Either choice will be a winner for sure!!! :goodvibes

piglet Sorry to hear about your son's scare!! I'm very glad everything worked out!! I agree with you about Silver Cross. If you can totally avoid the place the better off you are. We go to Palos whenever possible too. That is where one of my cardiologist is located, and my GP and my OB/GYN!! :)

mac Hope your son's move went smoothly. How is everyone feeling?

Debbie Your summer sounds sooooo busy!!! ......but fun too!!

:wave2:Goodbye geffric!!!:wave2:

I hope you and your family have a wonderful vacation full of lots of fun, great memories, and lots of good food!!! I can hardly wait to read your TR and see some pictures!!! :goodvibes

Katie just woke up - hooray!!! :cheer2:
When she wakes up on her own, it makes the morning so much easier. When I have to wake her up, she's not very nice:scared1:

Rose- What's the "other" thread? I'm confused

Debbie - I decided to not cancel :teeth:. There was not one person on that thread that said I should cancel, and that gave me the extra motiviation to go. I decided to tell my customers that I'm going on a framing conference to make my abscence look work related - I'm such a fibber  Thanks for asking!!

piglet too - That was just last year?! So so many hugs to you and Nathan :grouphug: I'm so glad he's okay!!!

HERSEY - The WL is really homey and wonderful!!! :goodvibes I love how they say "welcome home" when you check in.

Mac - They do give you an enormous amount of food with the DDP. I ended up buying 90% of my snacks at the end of the trip and brought them home.

Bunchkin - Prepare Tony that he will be in the minority at the cafe. Kevin was 1 out of 3 men there :) He looked around and told me that next time I can bring the girls with a grandma, but then I told him that he shouldn't think that way because he's making wonderful memories for Stephanie. He'll go back again, but I could imagine how it would feel odd for him.
**Stephanie did love all her things :goodvibes I bought her a 6 drawer Rubbermaid thing yesterday at Wal-Mart for all her AG items, and it's perfect. If you don't have anything for Lauren's AG items, then I would recommend this. I think it cost me approx $18 :thumbsup2

Tiggerrnnnnnnn - I'm thinking about you and hoping you're having a great time :cool1:

Well, I gotta run - I'll try to check in later
Have a good day today everyone!!
