Baby teeth- DS turned 7 in March. He is just now getting his first loose tooth! A few missing teeth are cute, but then they get in that awkward stage where they have those big rodent teeth when all of the rest are still small. Not so cute!

Hey guys, happy Tues afternoon. Boy it's getting hot. Just turned on the air. That should make everyone happy.

Becky the sale is June 1 and 2. I hope I can get things together too. I have a couple of couchs, and a table with chairs but I have lots to get rid off. Yes I'll be there Thurs. My daughter finally got a singing solo too. She has tried out for three years and finally got one. :wizard: She is thrilled. My husband is going to the concert but I'll be late it's award night for the brownies.I just hope I get there in time.Tell Kyle your dis friends said Happy Birthday.:yay:

Aces Babydoll What a cute family you have. It looks like you had a great time.

Well got to go. I'm walking to pick up dd at school. She's gonna love that in this heat.:rotfl2:

Good afternoon all!!!
Becky :bday: to your 7 year old Kyle. I have a now 7 year old Kyle as well.:lmao:
DS party didn't get off to a good start. It was to begin at 5 and last til 7. We arrived at 5 along with all his friends, and noone was there.:scared1: So there we stood outside the bowling alley with 10 little kids who were more than ready to bowl. We tried calling -- no answer. The police were driving by so we had them check for another number to reach the owner at. They had none. I had purchased an ice cream cake, and needless to say it was quickly turning to soup. We had just decided (after waiting 25 minutes) to walk over to the park and just picnic and play and get Little Cesars Pizza when the bartender pulls up. She never said a word, just opened the door and went in and started turning on lights and stuff. So we went in and I went up and said, "The time was 5 was it not?" She said oh, I had car trouble and thought the manager would be here and I tried to reach someone to be sure, but noone answered. I got here just as soon as my car got started" Never an apology.
Once we got the party started the kids had a great time. We went a little over our time. Then as I was paying the balance, the bartender was like, I only charged for 1 hour of bowling. I was like, well that is the least you can do since you were 30 min late.:rolleyes1 I really wanted to say a few other choice things, but I had little kids with me. :lmao:
Slo, Kyle turned 7 May 8th. It was such a busy time then so he had to wait a bit for his friend party.
Sounds like the store is coming along. I'm with Bunchkin on the little chair that folds out to a couch. That sounds like a great idea for Katie.
Paint, how goes the packing? Will they pay for the repairs to the cistern or just close if off? Most older homes have them. My in-laws still use theirs even though they are not supposed to. Heaven forbid you cheat your town water bill by using fresh rainwater from your own supply.:rotfl2: My parents had one, but when it had trouble, noone would repair it since they were not supposed to use it anymore, so my dad just closed it off. I think there is some stuff stored in that room now. I remember as a kid always thinking how cool it would be to turn it into an indoor swimming pool.
Well, kiddies will be getting off the bus shortly so I better get a bit more done before they arrive.
Later:wave2:

OK, I won't be able to get organized by then. DD has her gymnastics state meet on the 2nd. I'm barely getting organized with all the school paperwork that has to be turned in by June 1. Thanks for letting me know though.

Congratulations to your DD. That's great!

Hopefully you will make it in time -- at least that's the nice thing with 8th grade -- they are last, gives you a few extra minutes. I know the voices will be performed between 7th & 8th graders -- that's going to be interesting change (or chaos, I'm not sure which).

I walked the kids home from school today too and UGH...I'm STILL hot. It was nice there was a breeze but I am wondering what I was thinking. :scared: Driving might come into play tomorrow, we shall see. Actually, now that I think about it, I probably will. Our 4th graders are going on a walking tour tomorrow (nothing about packing a lunch which is weird since it's from 8:30 - 2!!!) but I'll pack anyway -- usually it's written in the assignment notebook -- nothing about it. If it's hot, DS is not going to appreciate having to have walked all over on a history tour, walking from the school & back then turn around and walk to our house. We don't live *that* close -- close enough to walk but it's still a hike.

Oh *lovely* just got a message that the Tiger Cubs are hosting for graduation night and we are supposed to be there at 6:15 instead of the normal 6:45. NOT going to happen...I have to be across town at 5:30 for a registration. I just called and let them know there was no way that was going to work for us. *WHY* does everything have to fall all on 1 day? Am I the only one that this happens to when you have 50,000 things all in 1 day but then nothing any other time?

Tiggern2 -- EEK!!! How awful for the party. I'm always so paranoid something like that is going to happen. Luckily, you had a park nearby.

I reserved our place back in March!! I hope they still have the reservations. :o I will be calling Thursday if we don't hear from them but it's through the Park District & they are usually pretty good.

I'm glad it turned out all OK in the end.

Good Morning all. Hope everyones day is special.

Tiggerrn2 Too bad about the party but I bet the kids still had a good time. They always seem too.:goodvibes Tell your Kyle HAPPY BIRTHDAY:cool1:

Becky2005 I'll try to look for you on Thurs. After the concert we have to hurry because my dd is attend the pirates movie.

Gotta go shower. Check up later.:surfweb:

:surfweb:

I'm slow moving this morning - I didn't want to get up:sad2:

Bunchkin - I'm glad you liked Shrek 3 - Stephanie really wants to go see it. If time permits, we may go see it on Memorial Day. :)
**Where do you get one of those chair/couch item you posted about? It sounds like something I would like to take a look at.
**There is so much going on at the store. Kevin and his dad just finished the countertops last night. I can hardly wait to go see them today:thumbsup2
**Have a nice visit with your in-laws. I'm so sorry to hear about their health:guilty: , I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers. :wizard:

Becky -

to Kyle!!!
**Good luck with your busy week :wizard: It'll be over before you know it (that's one nice things about crazy weeks, they do go by fast).

Sam - I'm in that $5 Buck Club too, but I've never used it:rolleyes:

paint - "big rodent teeth" that made me chuckle:laughing:

poohlover - I turned my air on too yesterday - it was 85 degrees in here:eek:

Tiggerrnnnnn - I couldn't believe my eyes when I read about Kyle's b-day party. A double   about the bowling alley not apologizing to you - how sad!!!:sad2:
**Did I say happy birthday to Kyle on the 8th? If not......
19.gif
KYLE!!!
I hope he wasn't to upset about the bowling alley not being opened. The park sounded like lots of fun too!!!!

Well, I gotta run and start my day
Have a good Wednesday everyone!!!

Poohlover- Are you selling a kitchen table and chairs? If so, please pm with further info. Thanks!
Tiggerrn2- OMG! I would have been furious at the bowling alley. That's totally ridicuouls! No word yet on the cistern. They have until Fri for the things we have listed.
Becky- I can't believe some people don't RSVP. We had someone not RSVP for DD's party one year and actually show up. I had to do some scrambling to get this kid a goodie bag.
Bunchkin- DD loves Libby Lu. She had a rock star makeover for her bday last year!
Anyone planning on seeing POTC on Thursday night? I may go over and see if I can get tickets still, for ds and me. I am so excited! I will be a dork and let him wear his costume!
Not doing much packing here. It still seems too early. I am a very last minute packer. Not to mention, I don't have any boxes. I HATE buying them. It seems like such a waste. DBF has some, but I keep forgetting to take them!
Well, better go get ds out of the shower. He likes to relax in there a little too long some mornings.
Stay cool, Chicagoans!

Becky2005 I'll try to look for you on Thurs. After the concert we have to hurry because my dd is attend the pirates movie.

OK, I'll probably be sitting in the upper back since that is the best spot for videotaping. I wish they would just sell the tape they make. I would buy it instead of having to do my own taping. I hope it's not too close of a call for the movie for you! The orchestra concert went until about 8:30 last time which seemed longer than usual and they started at 7 on the dot! It was almost 8:45 by the time we got out of there. By the time they added the extra Fiddlers on Fire (same as our extra choir but that was slight chaos getting them organized - hence my wondering how it's going to work for choir as it's not the norm.) Then some acknowledgements of scholarships, etc... Just a heads up that this one might run a bit longer than the others since I can't remember if choir is the only thing your DD does or not for music. Orchestra might take longer though just because you have instruments, it's not like our choir people have to be moving any music stands, etc... ;)

**Good luck with your busy week :wizard: It'll be over before you know it (that's one nice things about crazy weeks, they do go by fast).

Thank you. I hope it goes by fast, I'm so ready for everything to be done. Although we are going to the Museum of Science & Industry on Monday so I don't really even get a break then but that's just a for fun thing and other than the CSI timeframe, we aren't time constrained in any way.

Becky- I can't believe some people don't RSVP. We had someone not RSVP for DD's party one year and actually show up. I had to do some scrambling to get this kid a goodie bag.

Yes...it's a big pet peeve of mine. It's bad enough if it's an at home party but when people know you are paying per person (since we are having it at an outside location -- they should realize it's a per person price!) it drives me even more bonkers.

Looks like it's going to be a nice day which is great considering my 10 year old is walking to our downtown. I will be off in a bit to take my little guy to a park district class, last one for this session. YEAH!!!

Anyone here use Music & Arts for renting an instrument for school? That's who we are using and I was not too impressed last night with the sign-up. Everything was so rushed. I'm not even 100% sure what I all signed. :rotfl: I think I got the jist of it though. The school used Quinlan & Fabish for orchestra and it was a completely different experience, maybe there were just less kids doing orchestra and so it was less hectic on sign-up. I felt they explained things better. Just wondering what I've gotten myself into and if anyone has had any experience with them.

Morning all. I have got to catch up on this house. My floors are terrible. And what am I doing? :surfweb: :rotfl2: I will get to it shortly.
Paint, I can get you all sorts of boxes from work if you'd like. We throw dozens out daily. Diaper cases, birth pack cases. Some are really heavy duty and great for moving. Let me know.
Hope you all have a great day. It is going to be a warm one!!!:cool1: Kids are begging me to put up the pool.:lmao: Maybe this weekend. We need some sand to level out the ground from last year. It didn't settle well over the winter.
Oh, I was an instant winner in the Disney movie instant win game!!! Just Kodak stickers.:rotfl2: Does that mean I can't keep trying to win the big prize? :confused3

What a beautiful night tonight!!!! :goodvibes

I'm sitting her DISing on the front porch while watching the girls play:cutie: :cutie:

I just love this time of year!!!!! :teeth:

Tiggerrnnnnnn - My girls are begging to go into the pool tool ::yes:: We have it opened, but it needs to be scrubbed really good. Kevin is going to put on his scuba tank and scrub the walls that way, and then after that,:thumbsup2 the pool is open!!!!:thumbsup2

Have a good night tonight everyone!!!!

Evening Everyone!!

I am sitting here :happytv: making the mistake of watching the American Idol finale..........can they possibly drag it out any longer:confused: And the question is..........why am I even watching it when I haven't watch all season long:upsidedow :confused3

I guess because I am headed into that oh so lovely :rolleyes1 time of the month that nothing seems to keep my attention...........I am closing in on the end of the female fertility cycle and BELIEVE me it is not coming fast enough..........:rotfl2: :rotfl2: enough about getting old!!

Slo - Glad you are enjoying that time watching the girls. That goes soooooooo fast. Enjoy every nano second:yay:

Tiggern - WOW Kodak stickers........you know how to live:rotfl: :rotfl: Sorry about the bday party......no customer service anymore.

Becky - How did everything go........I agree I wish performances would just sell you the tape instead fighting for the perfect spot to tape. Hang in there:upsidedow

Enough said........can't seem to focus on this either......one of my many periomenpausal symptoms.....sorry:surfweb:

Everyone have a good evening........Is it Friday yet????????????

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

 and :grouphug: All! I tried posting last night but, the DIS was kapoot! :confused3 Bear with me while I catch up.....even late for me......;)
My in-laws are in town and gave us no prior notice they were coming!!!!
They just called up DH on Sunday afternoon and was like "surprise we're here"!!
Mom in-law's cancer has returned and I think she has it in her mind this is her last trip here. She just found out last week it returned, for the third time, and then they booked a flight here spur of the moment.
And father in-law got sick since being here. His health is not good AT ALL, especially since he's 86 yrs old. :sad2:
We really can NOT believe they even came out here!
Health wise neither of them should be traveling!!!!!! :sad2:
I'm glad you have your inlaws there but I'm sorry there was no notice! Yikes! Even more sorry that their health is not good. {{HUGS}}

We are having his party on Saturday and I still have 4 people who are mystery if they are coming or not. I had to call people yesterday since the RSVP deadline was Sunday and I still has 12 people who hadn't called me. I have 2 that I have no way to contact though so ??? and the other 2 I told them if I didn't hear from them I'm assuming they aren't coming. I just got another call to add one person to the yes list if it wasn't too late.
I HATE THAT!!!!!!

I would like her to lose one soon though before she stops believing in the tooth fairy for pete's sake!!
:rotfl2: :lmao:

then they get in that awkward stage where they have those big rodent teeth when all of the rest are still small. Not so cute!
:lmao:

Tiggerrn2 Too bad about the party but I bet the kids still had a good time. They always seem too.:goodvibes Tell your Kyle HAPPY BIRTHDAY:cool1:
Double Ditto!! :thumbsup2

Sam - I'm in that $5 Buck Club too, but I've never used it:rolleyes:
We are too! At Kerasotes. Is that the same theatre you're in also? :confused3 Never used it either, DS is a part-time manager there now so, he gets 1-2 of us in for free (once, so far) and, Kelly's report card always earns 1-2 free admissions as well, every quarter. :thumbsup2

Becky- I can't believe some people don't RSVP. We had someone not RSVP for DD's party one year and actually show up. I had to do some scrambling to get this kid a goodie bag.

Anyone planning on seeing POTC on Thursday night? I may go over and see if I can get tickets still, for ds and me. I am so excited! I will be a dork and let him wear his costume!
While I absolutely HATE the people that DON'T reply, I did find that if I kept bothering the 1 or 2 that didn't reply, they finally replied! DD is having a FREE summer movie party, NON-BD, NO GIFTS required, just FREE admission, and popcorn and drink and tokens for her and 9 of her friends. We decided on 7/15, after ruling out 7/14 when some of the girls will be playing at Thillens, and 2 families hadn't replied yet. I'm down to 1 now tho but, when you clearly state a REPLY is REQUIRED/NEEDED?? ---- do these parents NOT have parties for their OWN kids and want the same COURTESY?!?!

As for POTC3...because DS is a part-time manager now, he may HAVE to pre-view the movie in the AM to make sure the movie runs ok and then he has to WORK the opening starting at 8pm! LUCKY HIM, except he isn't home from work tonight yet! :rolleyes1

I am closing in on the end of the female fertility cycle and BELIEVE me it is not coming fast enough..........:rotfl2: :rotfl2: enough about getting old!!
:lmao: I'm sorry, that was funny! Never heard it referred to as that! Cool, COLD breezes coming your way!! :goodvibes

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's for me, now!

I'm up waaaay too late and have to get up waaaaay too early, but I just wanted to say Bye!!! :wave2: I'm up so late because of Idol and Lost, and packing. Too much in one night! But I think I'm about ready for bed.

Since Idol's over I think I'll be back here more when I get home. I do miss you guys! :goodvibes

Thanks Rose, for the PM. :goodvibes

Kim Leigh Mac  you guys were on awfully late.:wave2:

Kim that is awfully mean of your son's boss, Making him watch POTC meanest taken to a new level pirate:

Slo Last night was really nice. We still don't have any of those cicada's so it was really nice here:rotfl:

I remember one spring/summer I worked in Elmhurst you had to walk with a umbrella. Ok enough of that.:scared:

Good morning everyone.

Slo it was beautiful last night. DD took DS on a bike ride. Just guy time. Matt loved it.

Becky I'll look for you tonight. Thanks for the heads up about possiblely getting out late.

To those of you up late yawn.

Have a great day.:yay:

Last night my friend was finally able to make it to my store to look at my equipment :) He taught me how to use the one item I bought (We didn't have this at the other store I worked at). It was easy to learn, but it's going to take alot of practice:rolleyes: I think I'm going to have to buy some pieces of cheap moulding at Menards so I can practice using my new saw and my new joiner (that's the items I spoke of).

Today I someone coming to talk about their visa/mc program, which makes my head spin :headache: There are so many fees to talk about that they all start to sound the same. But he said he can do better than the first person I talked to, so that makes me happy!!! :)

My sign for the front of the store is suppossed to come today (fingers crossed). I can hardly wait to see - I"m so excited!!!! :yay:

Chris - How is work this week? I hope this week was better than last week :wizard:
**I agree with Kim - cool, cold breezes coming your way :teeth:

mac - :wave2:

Kim - You'll have to give us your son's review. I can hardly wait to see the moviepirate:

Leigh - How's the unpacking going? Are you all settled in?

HERSEY - I"m glad you have no cicada's too - hopefully it will stay that way for both of us :wizard:

poohlover - Stephanie wants to take a bike ride so bad, but we just haven't had a chance. I love going on bike rides. :)

Well, I gotta run - little Katie woke up very very early today :cutie:
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hersey and Slo- No cicadas here yet. I remember them from last time. I was at the zoo and they were verywhere. Yuck!
poohlover- My dcs were riding their bikes, too. They are such trouble, though. They like to ride at each other, full speed, chicken style. That's what I get for having them 15 months apart.
chrissmiss- No Idol for me, but I have to watch Lost online today, before I accidentally find out what happened!
Kim- Hope your ds enjoys the movie. he will be busy tonight!

Woohoo! I got my POTC tickets yesterday. The manager said to arrive at least an hour early to get a good seat. Ds is is very excited, but when I asked him to guess what we were seeing, his fisrt guess was Fantastic Four! I think it is just a fluke, bc he is a POTC freak! He got to be in the pirate tutorial in Aug and is convinced he is a real pirate. Hey, he has the certificate. Who am I to argue?
