Hi Everyone - BigBen thinks Bigben has finally figured out what BigBen wants to be when BigBen grows up.( BTW BigBen's 41) BigBen wants to be a weatherman. Did anyone happen to see the range of snow amounts from forecaster to forecaster? BigBen can say 0" to 16" depending on where you live. BigBen thinks weathermen have pictures of thier bosses or they have the best con job going.

BTW, BigBen saw Grey's Anatomy and Bigben thinks that its funny.

I'm looking for your opinion and what a great place to get a ton of them (but I'm not brave enough to post that outside this thread here! :rotfl2: ).

My DS-9 wants to have a movie birthday party and I have such a hard time with this because of what different people think of as appropriate.

I'm thinking I would like to take them to see "Night at the Museum" that will be coming out in December.

http://www.nightatthemuseum.com/

It's rated PG. I found it's rated PG for mild action, language and brief rude humor If you haven't seen the previews it's about a security guard that works the night shift at a musuem and the exhibits come to life at night.

Would you think this is OK for 9-10 year olds? The only G film would be Charlotte's Web and I don't really see the boys wanting to see that.

When is your son's birthday? Have you seen "Happy Feet" yet? That might be a good movie to try. My DD is a manager at a local theatre that has a party room, right now that is the movie that most people are using for birthday parties!

His birthday is in mid January. Our other thought was to wait until March when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles come out but I've heard that's going to be more on the dark side similar to the first Batman and I'm not about to take kids to that one. The first Batman movie was why PG-13 was invented.

I just figure by the end of Dec. most people will have already seen Happy Feet (which is also rated PG isn't it?). My other choice is Santa Clause 3 but I don't know when that will be gone.

ACK! I knew there was a reason I don't do movie parties but we have done most everything else for him (he's a hard one to figure out for parties so since he suggested it I'm trying.)

I just watched the trailer to the link of hte movie you're talking about. Looks appropriate to me for a 9 yr old boy/boys. Kinda reminds me of the movie Jumanji, hopefully not as scary as Jumanji. If your dson likes those kind of movies, I would say go for it! :woohoo:

Well, the salt trucks are out in our town putting salt on the roads  I guess the inevitable is coming.

How was everyone's day?
I was very busy at work today getting projects done. But that's okay - I like being kept busy.'

Me TOO!!! I'm hoping I get a call nice and early from the library :teeth: Because if it is snowing really hard in the morning, I'm going to have to take public transportation to work, because I'm not moving my car (city parking in the winter=not fun) :sad2:

Hi gang!!!

Well it sounds like it is sleeting outside. Lots of little pings against the window.

Today I had a foot doctor appt. I'm still having lots of foot pains. :(
Including some new pain that developed after being at WDW. I soft fractured the area right below my toes on my left foot, from over doing it while on vacation. :( :(
So now I get to wear a boot!!!! NOT fun!! I can't wear it to drive, but I'll have to wear it for the greater part of the day.
And I need to return to phys. therapy for both feet too.

Hunter and I spent over 2 hours at the foot doctor!!! :furious: Can you say 'over booked'??!!! :furious:

We finally got out of there about 1:15 and got lunch. Then did some shopping at Walmart. What a mad house that was!!!!
Then went to Jewel to get groceries just incase it's too aweful to drive in the next day or so. Grocery store was also a mad house!!!

Got about 65% of the house decorated now. Still need to finish the tree in the living room and put up the kids tree in their play room, but theirs doesn't take very long to do.

slo When I worked I loved busy days! It made my job seem less of a pain!!! :teeth:
How did the doctor's appt go??? Are you feeling better and how about Miss Katie too?? ---> for both of you!

Becky I thought the movie clip was great! I would see it with my 9 yr old.

BigBen I think BigBen enjoys referring to himself in the 3rd person!!! :rotfl:
If weather men were geniuses, then Jerry Taft wouldn't have been singing AND dancing to the Wiggles Hot Potato song last night on the news!!!! :rotfl2: Now that was a hoot!!! :rotfl:

rmom I'm sure you've already left for your trip, but I hope you have a great time!!! And please stop by more often.....other then to tell us your leaving town that is!!! ;) :thumbsup2 ;)

HI TO EVERYONE ELSE!!!!

Need to get off the computer now. DH is working on some blue prints and proposals and he needs the computer. :)

:wave2:

Just looked out the window, looks like snow starting to gather on the car. Went out its not snow, its ice.

Oh CRUD -- That's ICE? I had heard the freezing rain, looked out the window and thought the snow started because there is a thin white layer on the street, etc...

Now that you said that, it could easily be ice.

It's so going to be nasty driving tomorrow if that's a layer of ice on the bottom. I haven't heard the salt trucks come by yet which is kind of scary because we are usually one of the first areas they do being a school bus route, although I'm sure they are working on the really main roads and not the pretend ones (lots of people use our road as a cut-through to avoid the bigger highway).

I saw the previews at the show on Sunday. I think that age group would love it BUT, if you know you have a 'chicken' in the group, forget it. Previews showed 'intense action' (fake, of course). Looked cute tho! :thumbsup2

Yep, it's ice/freezing rain. My husband got called before 10:30 tonight to come in. He works for the City of Park Ridge. He mounted the plows on the trucks today for the snow we're expected to get. They loaded the salt trucks today too. HE doesn't think Kelly & I will make it out tomorrow to school or work. :confused3 We shall see. ;)

And, ITA, if there's a sheet of ice UNDER the snow we get tonight, we're doomed for sure! :cold:

Also, found out today that early next year I'll be unemployed again. :guilty: My boss said he's moving his practice closer to where he lives. It's sad but, I totally understand. His kids are 1 & 3 years older than my DD so, he wants to be closer to home for them. :thumbsup2 (Like I do, as well) I just don't think I'll EVER find the arrangement I've had with him the past 4 years. :sad2: It was IDEAL!!! Oh well, time to consider a change I guess.

 everyone!!!

And Debbie - Nice to see you this morning! :teeth: :wave2:

Oh, one other thing.....was someone here looking for Ebay VMK codes? :confused3 I have 4 so far. PM me, I'll send them to you. :thumbsup2

As of right now, we are getting HAMMERED in DeKalb: snow, ice, and high winds.

Good morning everyone! WOW can you say WIND! I didn't sleep because of it.

If you venture out today be extra careful. Alex has a snow day today. He was sent home yesterday with homework in case of no school today. He wasn't happy. Poor guy won't be able to go out today unless this wind dies down.

We don't have an ounce of snow here, but it's still raining a rain/ice mix. Stephanie's school website is all mixed up and not stating if there's any cancellations or delays. The only radio that I have is by my bed, and I don't want to lay in bed waiting to listen if there's school or not. I tried calling the highschool, but no one is there. Hopefully someone will be there soon. Stephanie is going to be so bummed out if we don't get any snow - but the radar looks like we are just getting the rain/ice mix. I guess only time will tell.

MJ - I love your WPASADI sign :thumbsup2

geffric - Are you going into the city today, or are you working from home?

Jedi - Did the libraray call you?

Bunchkin - I am so sorry to hear about your foot :guilty:  Sending lots of PD your way for that to heal super fast :wizard: :wizard:
**My doctors appointment was just okay, my poor doctor can't figure out why I won't stop coughing :sad2: . He took a chest x-ray, and it showed a slight bronchitis, but nothing that's a big deal. He said it could be due to allergies, but I'm already taking Zyrtec and Flonase :confused3 So, he told me to continue using the 2 inhalers and to come back in a week. That will make 5 weeks in a row - but what can you do
**Katie is doing a little better with the Zyrtec - its helping her cough, thank God. I get so nervous this time of year, because she has gotten so sick before. Thanks for asking!!!

OH.....I just saw the school bus go by the house to get the highschoolers - I guess Steph is going to school today :teacher: I bet Kevin that she would have a delay and he bet me she would have school as normal. DRAT - he wins again!!!!!!

latharia - Hi there :wave2: Don't be a stranger okay!!!

Becky - :wave2:

Kim - I'm so sorry to hear about your job :guilty:  I'm sending lots of PD your way to find another job real soon :wizard: :wizard:

Doctor P - Hi there, have you ever come here before???
If not........WELCOME!!!!! :welcome:
Please come by often - we would love to get to know you!!!!

HERSEY - It always amazes me how close we live, and how different the weather can be. We have extrememly little wind here, which is good because Kevin and I are going X-Mas shopping today :teeth:

Well, I gotta go and get Steph ready for school
Have a good day today everyone
And if you have to go out - BE CAREFUL!!!!!!
