Hi to everyone..

I have been so out of it lately, with 4 straight days of cooking, baking, cleaning, cooking baking, cleaning.. now DH is out of town for the week. I worked downtown yesterday and got home after 6 and the boys were 'what's for dinner Mom?' duh I donna know, just walked in... so we ordered pizza from Lou's.. yummy.. today i registered Eric for high school. ... yep my baby is going to high school next year.. WOW..

.. i talked with my old boss last night and I am getting a resume together after the holidays and taking control and looking for a differnet job..


oh well back to work..

geffric You sound like you need a break from all that cooking and cleaning!! I can't even fathom registering my little one's for high school. It seems soooo far away!!

Tiggerrn Wating for the after Christmas sales on decorations and the like is a great idea!!! I did this last year and got tons of lights for a great deal! Unfortunately, they weren't enough for my very own Clark Griswald!!



Well, I have lots of things to get done here.
And help Hunter with the 'letter of the day' for preschool today. It's the letter M. We need to cut out M words from magazines. He loves doing this!!!

good morning chicagoland homies.
what a glorius day it is in the world today, well, in my world that is.

and thank you again for your prayers. it means the most to me.


drove to ohare, left before midnight and son got thru customs smoothly.
left there at 1:45 am this morning and home at 2:30 this morning.

got to bed at 3:30 as i was so excited to see son and didn't want to go to sleep and wake up being all a dream.

phone woke me up this morning at 6:30 for work. turned that down in a flash. drinking coffee and dragging at the moment. son asleep in his bed where he should be.

one incident that happened and i have been dealing with it since 8 this morning. i paid $xxx/too much to have the ticket changed more than one time as i told you before. son was denied entrance to the plane unless he paid an additional $115 american dollars in gdl airport. he was told i never paid the fees and charges to have the ticket date transferred. he insisted but they said unless he pays the fees, no getting on the plane.

well, he paid $115. and got a receipt.
i called cc last night when i got home. what i paid already cleared.
call his cc last night. that charge cleared already also.
called mexicana, they have no record of payment
called " c.s., they hung up on me 3x's
called gs of american in az. talked to a receptionist and she said he should not have paid the money. she said someone would call me today.
called my and son'ts cc to dispute the bills. they said wait until american calls me back.

i'm just glad to get son back home. will try later today to get a refund on the illegal charges.

Mac -- I'm *so* happy for you!!! I'm so glad it all worked out. Sorry for the finance hassle though.


I went on the Meijer field trip last night to go with the Webelos Fitness badge (which is more of a nutrition badge). I recommend it. The kids got a sample of a fruit that was a cross between an apple & pear (to which I can't remember the name! ). My son really liked it. They also got to sample pretzels, string cheese. It was done really nicely. I would recommend it. It's from www.fieldtripfactory.com if anyone is looking for something to do with the scouts.

Our next one is at the hospital health center to complete the badge. I just hope the boys behave a bit better...we were redirecting a lot. Most have been from having a long weekend and then back to the grind. Made me remember why I *don't* have my son's birthday parties at my house & go to outside venues for them. There were only 7 boys too.

DD is back at school today although not quite 100%. She's excited though today we go to the orthodontist and it's quite possible she might get her braces off. Her 14 months for treatment for Phase I should be December, so depending on how her teeth are doing, they will either pop another wire on for 2-4 weeks or they may just remove them completely with putting her in a retainer until the rest of her baby teeth fall out (who knows she might be 18 by the time that happens the way she is going!) and then we start phase II.

Edited: Oh my! The field trip factory just called me and wanted to know if it was OK that they quote me because they loved the positive comments I made. I didn't think they were that fantastic.

Hope your DD will be able to get her braces off soon! I remember those painful yrs of braces when I was a teen. How much pain when the orthodontist would tighten the wires, etc. Uggh!

Poor DD, not only did she NOT get her braces off...in January they are doing bonding which means they are re-arranging a bracket, so it will be even longer for her to have them on. The estimate for Phase I was 14 months which would have been December. Apparently it's going to take longer for her. Poor thing. She was NOT happy.

My friend is coming in on Friday -- I'm not sure if she's arriving at the airport Thursday night or Friday morning -- I'm thinking Thursday night since she gave a lunchtime to meet & that would have been hard to do if she was just arriving. She is staying at one of her friends she knows in Chicago, so all we are doing is getting together for lunch. I just send her an e-mailing warning her about our upcoming weather! I am not looking forward to the drive myself to meet her if what DH heard on the radio is true (6-8 inches!!! I had read 1-3 and thought that was nothing but 6-8 would be a whole other ballgame. They might actually cancel school for that although it's so *rare* they cancel that I can't imagine them doing it so soon in the season!) so we shall see what happens. I will cancel if it's a snow day.

I DID get a lot done today but it never feels like enough!

I am very sad about the WIGGLES Greg situation. They need to stay together for my DS to see! I hope Greg is OK.

My parents are scheduled to leave on Friday morning out of OHare. Not looking good for them right now!

Bunchkin - I know so many people that had to do a "letter for the day" with their child. Stephanie never had to do that - I was kinda bummed - it sounds like a nice activity to do with your child.

macraven - I'm so happy to hear that your son is home safe and sound The money situation is a bummer, but when looking at the big picture, it doesn't matter as much as your son being home safe. What a great way to start the holiday season!!!!
