talked to son a few hours ago.
cancelling his ticket completely now. i had it set up for tuesday.

he doesn't want to come home.
he wants to live there.

he has no job, no money, no family or friends there.

when your kids are little, they step on your feet
when they are grown, they step on your heart.

i don't think i am going to talk about him anymore. i am tired of crying all the tiime.

Hi all, Happy Sunday-
Yesterday we went grocery shopping and then to visit my grandma at the nursing home. We brought left over pumpkin pie for her. Grandma was very happy we stopped by to visit. Actually she is always happy I, dh, dd, and ds come by to see her, as she always likes visitors!! :goodvibes
Dh and I watched the movie Last Holiday I rented a few days ago. That's the movie with Queen Latifah in it. It was a very good, feel good movie! I really enjoyed it, so did dh, being almost a chick flick, but a nice feel good comedy. I and dh give it 2 thumbs up :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Lets see.... Friday we walked around the new convention center in my town, wanted to check out the newly built convention center. Pretty big place! Wanted to check out where our village taxes were going to ;)
Today we will be putting up our tree and decorating.

Mac- :grouphug: I'm so sorry about your dson :guilty:

SamIAm and disneymama- I know you all left already. Have a great trip!!
Remember we want trip reports when you all get back! :thumbsup2

Hi to everyone else :wave2:

Enjoy the warm weather before it gets cold in the week!

i'm going to church in a few.

will have you all covered for the week :thumbsup2

jedi, i'm still on for monday night.
looking forwards to it.

sorry forgot something,

good morning my chicagoland homies....... :wave2:

I was able to sleep in until 8:30am this morning :Pinkbounc - I can't even tell you the last time I did that. The girls are at my MIL's because we went to a party last night - and it is so quiet in this house :cloud9: . I'm not sure when they will be home, but I'm sure it will be later this morning.

Bunchkin - I bet the outside of your house looks great!!! :goodvibes Kevin did an awesome job on ours too :cloud9:
*How did pictures go? Ours went well, and they look great :thumbsup2

Jedi - I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving!! :)
*Have you gotten any results from Toby's tests?

HERSEY - I have only about 3 more people to buy for too :cheer2:

macraven - So many hugs to you   I'm so sorry to read that your son is staying  I hope he comes to his senses sometime soon and still comes home. We are here for you when you need us :grouphug:

Sam - Bye!!!!! :wave2:
Have a wonderful, wonderful trip - I can hardly wait to hear all about it!!!!

Rosemarie - Have fun decorating your tree today - I just love doing that!!!! :goodvibes Do the kids enjoy helping? My girls love to do it. They put all the ornaments on the middle of the tree down (because that's all they can reach) and then when they aren't looking I move them all :lmao: But in there minds they still did it :teeth:

Well, I gotta run and eat - have a great day today everyone!!!

Mac Your DS sounds like he has your sense of adventure. He must feel he can do some good there. All we can do as parents is teach our kids good morals and value and then let them fly. :grouphug: To you, it's hard to let our little birds fly but when you raise eagles they must do what they must do.
Remember this when I come crying when Alex wants to leave home :lmao:

Hello Friends,
Happy Weekend!
I still don't feel very well but as long as I can function I will deal with it and try not to whine too much.

Friday I ran a few errands after the mad rush, Saturday I was kind of lazy but got a few things done and today we went and bought our tree! It was exciting.
It is early but outside here or at the lot they are all already cut, right?
2515813018

We pretty much do everything with my parents (we all live in an in-law house together) and they are going out of town for a few days so that's why we went early.

Today, after my Allegra D and coffee hopefully kicks in,
(real healthy combo, huh)
I will try and do some more cleaning and more Christmas decorations.

Mac, I am so sorry for your troubles. I can't imagine the stress of what you are going through. I hope he stays safe.

Hope everyone's Christmas pix went well. I pick mine up this week. With two little ones I find it hard to get them to both pose well at the same time.

Gotta go...
I am still so mad :furious: I didn't get into DisneyMama or SamIAm's suitcases in time! I have got to learn to move faster!!!!
Debbie

Hello everyone!! :wave2:

macraven So sorry to hear that your son has changed his mind about coming home to the family. I'm sure there must be some reason that is keeping him there or someone. Are you sure he has not met anyone there?
Big hugs for you!

slo Tony has turned into Clark Griswold!!
16m.jpg

I have been the one to do all the outside decorating in the past. Usually because Tony is too busy working to help. But this year he not only was decorating the outside himself, BUT he went crazy with it!!
I think so far we have over 5,000 lights on our house. And then there is the kids playhouse he lit up and the light up snowman. And I bought a 6ft LED Christmas tree for outside. That is now next to the playhouse and the snowman. And he wants to put a blow up in the yard and more lights on the house.
He is driving me crazy!!!!
He's been working on this for the past 3 days!

Debbie Glad to hear you got your tree!! Have fun decorating it!!

I spoke with SamIAm last night! Her and Megan were excited about leaving this morning for WDW!!
She said she might go out of her way to torture me by calling me while she's gone to let me know about all the fun they are having!! :rotfl2:
What a smarty pants!!! :teeth:
I can hear her now....."Hi! We're having tons of fun on your favorite ride!!" :rotfl:
I hope they have tons of fun at MVMCP!! I'm sure they will!! :cool1:

Need to head out to the grocery store.
Have a great day all!!

Good Sunday afternoon everyone.
Mac- so sorry to hear DS isn't coming home. :grouphug: Maybe you could use the ticket to go visit him.?
Bunchkin, as I suspected we had pressed turkey and awful stuffing (although they referred to it as homemade), a skimpy piece of pie and green beans. The beans were good. As for the rest, you said it, BLECH!!!!
Good for all of you that got your decorations out. I had a terrible lucky streak yesterday, spiral tree-too many lights out, ligthed reindeer-too many lights out and motorization not working, net lights for bushes-too many lights out. SOOOOOO-off I am going to KMART to get some new stuff after spending too many hours yesterday trying to fix the old ones. :rotfl2:
Glad the weather is holding. DH is out cutting off branches and finishing the lawn work for the winter. Much house cleaning to do before I set up decorations inside. Was hoping to get new carpet in to decorate downstairs but doesn't look like that will happen. Home Depot won't carpet over 9in tile. So have to find a different place that will as we don't want to hassle with taking up tile and adhesive. :sad2:
OK well gotta run. Have a great day everyone.

Bunchkin We have the Griswald's on our street. They have so many lights I don't think I'll be able to sleep I think it daylight out here. :lmao:

I think I ate way to much turkey to fit in Sam's luggage. I think there's a weight restriction.

Debbie!!! Thank you soooo much for checking on my Minnie costume and sending me the PMs to let me know that they have a small!!! :goodvibes I just ordered it! :thumbsup2 I was out of town and forgot to post that I wasn't going to be here for a couple of days, so that's why I didn't respond to the first PM. (And I hope you feel better! )

I went down to Indy yesterday for my friend's baby's 1st birthday party, and came back today. It was fun, and I love to see the kids. :goodvibes The 1yo took some steps today, his birthday! Just a couple of steps the first couple of times, and then he walked from the table to a chair, over a yard, and I was the only one who saw him! I kept waiting for him to fall, but he didn't. So cool!

:rotfl: We were trying to take Christmas pix this morning of the kids. Try 3 kids (6, 2, & 1), and a dog! OMG, it was so hard, and we didn't have much success. We'd get it halfway decent, and then the baby would crawl away. Or the dog would try to run. Or the kids weren't looking at the camera or smiling. :sad2: I have a couple of halfway decent ones, and my friend has film and needs to get hers developed, so we'll see.

Thanks again Debbie, and :wave2: to everyone else! I need to go back and read the posts I missed. See you later!

Boy, oh boy, I don't feel like going to work at all today :sad2: My poor Katie is so sick with a bad cold, that I hate leaving her like that. She will be with my mom, so I know she will be in good hands, but I still hate to leave her.

I know this is a real generic way of doing this, but I haven't had time to send PM's to everyone individually. I want to send one big shout out to all my Chicago friends that you have been frosted, hoed, and wished a happy unbirthday. The images are at the bottom of my siggie if any of you would like to incorporate them into your signature. Again, I'm sorry this is sorta impersonal, I just haven't had the time for individual PM's.

HERSEY - That was such a nice post to Mac, and then I had to chuckle when you said,"Remember this when I come crying when Alex wants to leave home" We'll remind you because we'll still be here :)

Debbie - How are you feeling today? I sure hope you are feeling better. I'll send some more PD your way incase you aren't :wizard:

Bunchkin - I had to laugh when you said Tony is Clark Griswold :lmao: Kevin is a great decorator, but he doesn't go to overboard. Now when he needs "more power" when doing a project and turns into Tim the Toolman, that is a totally different story!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Tiggernn - I should have been doing what your DH was doing yesterday, but I just didn't feel like it. I decided that the leaves against the fence will wait for spring just fine if I leave them - so I did!!!! ;) :lmao:

Leigh - I'm glad you had a nice time down in Indy :) . Did you go to the city? They are suppossed to have the largest Christmas tree in the country.

Macraven - Thanks for the listings and continued hugs for you!!! :grouphug:

Well, I gotta run - have a good day everyone!!!!

good morning chicagoland homies.

it is monday and the start of the work week. blech.......

i missed my call for work this morning so i guess tuesday will be the start of my work week.......

going to see jedi tonight. i told her about pita inn on dempster in skokie. she said she's on, so we are meeting there. whoo hoo...

i made the team for one of the W challenges. i never have done this before and hope i know what i am doing. in fact, i had no idea who ty or tim were.
i had to google them. i saw their post in the universal forums.

come cheer for my team if you want to. my team is orlando hotels (from trip report forums), universal and seaworld.

i'll be off and on today.

yes, hersey is a sweetie and very kind.

Good morning!!

I can't believe this good weather! But it's not going to last long I hear!

DH put more lights up last night!!!!! He put spot lights in the yard to reflect onto the house. They have red and green bulbs in them.
And one of them he pointed right at the front door!!! I opened the door to see what he was doing and I got BLINDED!!! :sad2:
While he was adjusting them, Lauren came out of her bedroom (she was trying to sleep) and downstairs by me and told me that someone was flashing lights into her bedroom!! :rotfl: Poor kid didn't realize it was her dad outside being a nutbar!!! :rotfl2: CLARK GRIZWALD!!!!!

Leigh It sounds like you had a fun weekend!!
And yes, picture taking with children can be difficult. Hunter always gives us a hard time about smiling!

slo Sorry to hear that Katie is sick!! I'm sure her grandma will take good care of her today!!!
Hunter is sick too...again. Yucky, stuffy nose and a slight cough.

Hersey Sleep with shades on!! :smooth: :3dglasses
In my opinion, Sam's suitcases are too small!!! No one would have fit in her bags!! :rotfl: But then again maybe my suitcases are just too big!! ;)

macraven Hope you heard from your son last night!
And thanks for the tv listings again!! :thumbsup2

Tiggerrn We had a bunch of lights that were dead too!
Hope you find lots of lights for decorating!! We are having a hard time finding one more to match ones we have. Everyone is sold out of them! So frustrating!!!! I think all the warm weather is making people decorate more than they normally would.

Time to get going!

Have a great day all!! :wave2:

Bunchkin - you're cracking me up with the "Clark Griswold" stories! :rotfl2: Is this your first Christmas in your house? Maybe that's why he's so enthusiastic about decorating! :teeth: Here, you have to take a look at this - you'll like it : Christmas Vacation in 30 seconds

Mac - I'm really looking forward to tonight! :cool1:

I guess I should get back to work. Though I am going to first check out all these deals they keep talking about in the news about 'Cyber Monday' :rolleyes1

*DIS meet information is posted in the Meets forums. (there's a link in my signature for it). It looks like we're going with December 17th. *

:cool1:

afternoon all..

MAC.. I am so sorry about your son's decision but Hershey put it very nicely .. :grouphug: Hope he is safe.. I forgot did you say where in Mexico he is? Can we kidnap him and bring him back? Have fun with Jedi tonight.

Welcome back Sk8Leigh hope you had a great time

Hershey.. well put and nice thoughts..

back to work

I'll be heading to Chicago this Thursday -- any updates on the weather ? expecting snow that day ?? weather.com is warning me, but I hope somebody local will advise that the 60's will remain through the week

They've been saying it's supposed to rain Thursday and then turn to snow by Friday. The mild temps are only supposed to last until Wednesday, I believe. :guilty:
