Our tornado sirens went off yesterday evening when the storms hit. I've never heard them in our area (northside of Chicago) except for that first Tuesday of the month at 10 am when they test em! I was pretty scared.

I heard them but wasn't sure what they were. In fact Amy called me and said she heard some weird sirens. It hailed by Amy but only got very windy and rained here.

I've got my pins ready to go! That's one thing down, a million to go. I had to figure out which traders to take. I need to get my maps ready for getting around California, paint my nails, get my camera ready, not to mention pack my clothes. And I have to get this done before I leave for work on Monday. I'll be going directly from work to Midway, my first time on the El.

Wow!! Sounds like you guys had quite a wild 2 days. Hardly any rain here. Certainly no really bad weather like that. Was drizzling and cloudy both days with spots of sun off and on. Glad you are all OK.
Working this weekend then getting busy packing up a bit for the trip. The next week I'll be busy getting ready for the Book Fair at school. Doing the setup before we leave for vacation.
Hope you all leaving this week are getting yourselves together and are ready to go. May you have wonderful weather, safe trips and a great time.!!!

I did meet Mac for a brief minute at the August (think it was August) Red Robin meet. I really didn't get much of a chance to chat with her since she only came for a couple of minutes. I think Mac, you came to see DMM for something before that Meet at Woodfield, right?

yes, i met up earlier with michelle to give her donations for her thread that did the decoration boxes.

i am not at pop but wanted to help that group out.
gave her basic items, seasonal items even a mini christmas tree.



going to church tomorrow.

Has it stopped raining .... yet?!?! WOWZA!

I heard there was a touchdown of a tornado in Park Ridge, but I don't think it was mentioned on the 10 pm news last night.
KimRaye, did that tornado hit by you? I hope not.

I heard from 'locals' that touchdowns occured in Park Ridge & Des Plaines but, I don't know for sure. The news didn't say anything, like you said. I know I was in the heart of Park Ridge, eating dinner, when the worst came thru tho. We were at Kelly's cross-country meet in Mt. Prospect when the tornado sirens went off. Meet was immediately cancelled. I heard sirens thru all the suburbs on our way back to eat and, while eating is when the worst of the storm hit. It was BLACK and POURING and thundering and lightning. The power went out where we were eating 3 times and, when we left, it was still out. At home, there was no seepage, until about 7pm. Got more seepage today, even more than yesterday. It's a nuisance but, nothing bad or damaging. LOTS of flooded road areas and trees and branches down all around here! I hope we see some of this SOON!

disneymama- I loved the Barbies list! I think Bloomington Barbie could fit in with Peoria Barbie. I think they are sisters! Does that Ken come with a mullet? I hope so!

kim, rose, becky and others who got stormy weather- Glad you are okay! We did not get any rain that night.
Bunchkin- Michele and I did get the kids together today and they hit it off. We don't know if we should bring them all to your game night, though. I am afraid of what might happen to your house...
leigh- Have a great trip! I have never been to DL. Okay, once when I was baby, but that does not count.

We did see Cars today. It was good, except this kid kept crying and making alot of noise...oh, wait, that was one of Michele's! We played at the mall play area and then went to McD. The kids were exhausted! I am supposed to be working on a paper, but I got stuck, so I am taking a break. Any opinions on The Canterbury Tales?

Hi all, quick driveby, spent all day at my grandfathers cleaning out his basement as he was flooded! it was awful. He had so much water in the basement

DH almost didn't make it home last night it was so bad, he pulled over on the HWY with everyone else on the road and he was scared too.

So crazy yesterday and busy today and same tomorrow! Sal has monday off to get some last minute things and we leave wednesday night

Any opinions on The Canterbury Tales?

I only opinoin it long and BORING . I hated having to read anything school related. I like to read things on my own terms. Yup I'm stubborn

Leigh get packing! Take lot's of pictures of DL I haven't been there in a millon years.

For everyone going to WDW soon bask in the Florida sun for me.

I hope we are done with the rain for now I need to clean up my yard today.

Amy sent me pictures of the truck after they towed it back to Chicago. I can't believe Eric only got cuts and a banged up ankle after looking at these. I think the dent in the door was where his leg was caught but I can't figure out where his leg went out.

Both are doing well, the swelling on Eric's ankle went down and he can put shoes on now.

Carrie...Wow! Their guardian angel had to be watching over them, for sure.
Thankfully, it wasn't worse than it was....

Everyone heading to Disney soon, and those heading there *again* LOL, hope you get packing quickly and if you find any extra room in your suitcase, I'd love to go, too!

Just got back from seeing the dance movie, Step Up...we enjoyed it...but being that we're Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance geeks, I kind of figured we might like i!
