I had to literally tear myself away from the tv this morning. :sad2:
MSNBC is replaying the Today Show broadcast from 9/11/2001.
Still such an unbelievable sight, even 5 years later.

:grouphug: :grouphug:

Shouldn't we all be thankful to live in a country where we have had the opportunity to have come together here and become friends.
I know I am!

::yes::

Yes, I totally agree with this, Nicole! We are blessed to live in America, and my thought and prayers continue to be with those hurting from 9/11/2001.

Was watching Fox News channel this morning as well.
Prayers to all the families that lost loved ones in the twin towers, pentagon
in the field in PA, and all the firefighters, cops, medical personel that lost their lives, too. :guilty:
Thanks for posting this, Bunchkin.

I really can't believe it has been 5 years. I know it sounds so cliche, but it really does seem like only yesterday...I was watching Nick Jr and my mom called to tell me a plane had crashed into the WTC. I quickly turned on the news, and we were talking about if it was an accident or not, when we both saw the second plane crash. It was a very scary feeling, realizing we were under attack. I am blessed to have no family injured on that day, but I was worried, bc my dad is in law enforcement and was in Chicago at the time. I was pretty much glued to all the news stations for a long time after that. DD was only a few monthes, so when she would need to be fed during the night, I would get up and watch the news.

Okay, on a lighter note...I am a bad mommy. Ds's teacher called. He was very upset. I thought he was supposed to have hot lunch today, but he was not. I feel so bad! They gave him pb&j, crackers, and milk, but he was so sad! I am horrible!

Mac- I hope your son returns home, safe and sound, soon!

Wow Mac - Glad everything's ok

Has anyone else just been feeling eerily odd today? I know that's a weird question....I just feel "off" on 9/11 5 years ago, I was on the phone with my youngest dd's then preschool teacher when I watched the 2nd plane hit ...I have many friends who are both American and United pilots who fly to/from NY & Newark all the time...I was literally frozen. Then I was numb...Ikinda feel that way today. Prayers for all

I don't know if I feel "off", but I didn't want to go out shopping today. I wanted to watch the 9/11 memorials today on tv. The rain didn't help either.
I'll go out tomorrow.

it's such a worry when you have a family.

enough of me and being a downer here, let's talk about fun things.

15 days for the motherland trip for me, how about you??

Hi all!!

I'm coming by for a very quick hello before I start studying. Tomorrow is the big day - and I'm so anxious to get it done!!! I have to be in Michigan City by 8am tomorrow morning, so I won't be posting (I have to leave home at 6:15am).

I read through the thread and I don't have time to comment on everything.
I do want to say...

Carrie - I am so sorry about what happened to Eric and Tim. I'm sending many hugs your way   I will keep both of them in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. They both had a guardian angel looking after them. Please be careful during your travels to get Eric and Tim, and please keep us posted on everything that is happening. Please give my love to Amy and let her know I'm thinking of her and the girls.

Macraven - I am also sorry to hear about your son missing. Many hugs to you!!!!!  Please keep us posted and let us know when he has been found. I will keep him and you in my thoughts and prayers.

To everyone else - Hi there!!!

Well I gotta run and start getting some last minute studying done. Talk to you later and think of me tomorrow at 8:30am - that's when the test officially starts.

Have a good night!!!

Niteowl & Macraven: :grouphug: Keep up the great attitudes you both have! :goodvibes

Slo: Best of luck tomorrow! :cheer2:

 Hi Chicago friends!

First of all Thank you to everyone, I agree they must have had a Guardian Angel I am sure it was my mom

Eric is doing good, they cleaned him up and gave him some sweats, since they had to cut his pants off. I just talked to him and he is going to sleep for the night. They took him off the morphine and just giving him pills now. He also ate lunch and dinner.

Amy is fine, she has someone with her and they are getting everything ready for Tim, I called her about an hour ago and she is finally sleeping.

Tim was picked up by his sister and is on his way home :wizard: DH and I are leaving about 1am to go get Eric, he is being released at noon tomorrow. I am going to get ready and get some sleep. We will drive carefully :thumbsup2

macraven--I hope your son is found soon and on his way home :wizard: It doesn't matter how old they are they still worry us to death :teeth:

slo--- :wizard: for tomorrrow

I was watching specials on the History channel all day today, in between phone calls. Such a sad day :sad2:

Thank you all again :wizard:

Slo, good luck tomorrow. With all the studying you've been doing, I'm sure you'll pass with flying colors. Then you can find us a house!!!! We should be ready to haul outta here by spring. We need a better school district.
NiteOwl drive safely and hope all things are well. :grouphug: to you and for Tim and Eric :wizard: and prayers.
Mac I hope you are feeling better. :wizard: and :grouphug:
Princess Mindy post soon on your trip. Anxiously awaiting a report.
Good night everyone. I, too, was in a bit of a funk all day. Weather and the date did not mix well. Thought I'd cry at the drop of a hat. :sad2:
Did get the kids closets and drawers cleaned out. They each now have empty drawers and space in closets. Good news is, looks like I'm shopping tomorrow!! :thumbsup2 It's a good excuse.
OK night.
