I'm at work today, but a little under the weather I have bad allergies and on top of that, DH and I went out last night and I had a little too much to drink

We went to Macy's yesterday! I felt a little guilty, but only a little. We were at Woodfield and did some shopping, which was fun. We shopped at H&M, which I'm really beginning to love their clothes (and their prices!)

I got to see Disney Mommy at Great America on Friday!!! I recognized her, thanks to the pics that are posted from Chicago meets It was a nice surprise to run into her. It was great that night, as Michelle said, the lines were non-existent. But, I don't know if I'm just getting old or what, but the rides don't "thrill" anymore like they used to!! I got panicky on Raging Bull, which I never used to - I'm a coaster freak! Then, on Superman, my fear of heights became a problem because as you go up,you're staring straight down to the ground. I had to mentally calm myself down, but once we reached the top, I was fine

Yep, I've seen you over at the Disability board - I used to try real hard to keep the one thread on page one for deaf/hard of hearing hints, but finally gave up, new people dont necessarily read threads, they post their own question, which makes perfect sense!! Now I cruise it once in a great while - we had the experience using the reflective captioning - its an art form to get the CM's to realize what it is, and where you need to sit!! (Its like closed captioning on tv, great for viewing Philharmagic to read what Donald is saying!! )

jedi, are you saying you're a traitor??? lol - I heard they were giving out gift cards for $1,000 they feel once you are lured in, you'll spend money there - its not like its been Marshal Field's anyway! We have friends that work there - the switch to Dayton Hudson was way worse according to them...

(Plus Carson's has way better sales on clothes - I was going to check out Macy's but Carson's clothes were 85% off - I bought 3 pairs of designer jeans - $7 that was Tommy Hilfigar, and Liz Claiborne - and a couple of shirts and sweaters - nothing was more than $11 That was smart of Carsons, I spent all my money there!!

ITA about Great America, we didnt use DD free coupon this year, we did last year, spent the time at the waterpark!! We walked around, and just couldnt get excited about anything!! DD did notice they were offering a character breakfast...

O.M.G.!!! I want to kill Comcast! I had made an appt for them to come out yesterday from 1-3pm. So then when it came to about 2:30pm and we hadn't even gotten a call, I called them and our appt had been cancelled! They had called earlier in the week to say that there had been a problem in our area and they think they fixed it, blah blah blah, but my mom thought that whatever she did had kept our appt. WRONG! So I yelled at them, and they gave me a $20 credit and made another appt for next Saturday. So then today I get another call from them, although recording. They said the same thing, and that if you're still having problems, press 1. I pressed 1 because I figured that would be the way to save my appt. So then I get put on hold! I was on hold for 17 minutes, and it kept saying that my call was important to them...THEY called ME!!!! So finally I hung up and called them back, and checked, and sure enough, my appt had been cancelled...AGAIN! So I talked to another person and made the same appt a second time. But I guess I'm going to have to stay on top of it, because they're going to try to cancel it!

I'm in a football pool at work. Right now I'm in next to last place for this week, after 10 games. It's exciting though! I don't even like football. I just took what the Sporting News said and used that. One girl got her pseudo-boss to do her picks! She's beating me by 10 points right now. My boss is up on me by two. After the first game on Thursday I was in third place! Winner for the week gets $60. I guess that won't be me.

Friday was a really rough day for me at work. (I almost want to say school for this. ) It was one girl's birthday, and a bunch of people went out to lunch, including my boss who I really like, but no one bothered to ask me. I felt so bad. I IM'd my boss about it, and she told me not to feel bad, that not too many people went, but I think it was quite a few. It's kind of clique-y there, and I just don't really fit in with the clique.

I hate comcast that's one of the reasons I went to Satalite. I realize your talking about your computer hookup but I won't have anything to do with them

eeyore45 - I like Carson's too! Marshall Fields was just ok. Mainly we went around Christmas.

Sk8leigh - That's terrible about lunch. I'm sorry they did that. At my part time job, one of the gals in my department got married a couple of years ago and invited EVERYONE in the dept except me! (and I've been here for almost 9 years, so it's not like I'm a newbie). It wouldn't have bothered me so much except I was invited to the shower and brought a gift to that.
But, I had my revenge. I was asked to work the day of the wedding, since everyone was going to the wedding. I said I couldn't work - had plans

BTW, I hate Comcast, too. I wanted to switch to Satellite but couldn't for whatever reason (the guy told us we wouldn't get a good reception which makes NO sense because 3 other tenants in our building have satellite), but DH will never switch from the Comcast internet access, so we're stuck with them.

Thanks guys. It wasn't a really formal thing, they just went out to lunch. It wouldn't have bothered me that much, except that my boss went, and I would have hoped she would have thought to ask me. That's what really hurt. There wasn't a group gift, so that was ok. They were kind of fawning all over her for her birthday. She got my boss and another woman to bring her cakes. I know all that fuss won't be made for my birthday. But the main that was that my boss didn't mention it to me. I had just IM'd her about 10 minutes earlier to ask what she was getting for lunch, and she said she didn't know yet. Then I went by the conference room she was in 10 minutes later to see if she knew yet, when I was ready to go down, she was gone. I figured she had gone out with them, so I asked when she got back, and she had.

I'm so excited WTG Lovie Smith - 3 games in a row - beat those pesky Packers!! I never counted Favre down, not until 2:00 to go, and Bears up 26 - 0... but I was hoping for a shut out...

Now if the Bears could only keep the momentum, and NO injuries...

and come on, I had to borrow dh phone because ds wouldnt answer when I called 1 st quarter, 2nd quarter, at 4th quarter 85 yard punt return (dh is NOT into football!!) I grabbed dh cell, and DS answered!! Mom, I'm in the library... wait, what channel?? OK< thanks!!" DH says... "WHAT did you just do?" huh dh says, "Your son was at the library studying"... oh, um, well it was 4th quarter!!

A small group of New Lenox area DISers got together today for lunch at McDonalds. That was a lot of fun! And the kids had a great time playing in the Playland.

Well, I'm bushed. We also went shopping today for vacation stuff, went out for dinner and then hit the grocery store.

After lunch, we went out to Traders Joes. I got some muffins that seemed healthy, until I realized a serving is half a muffin! Who eats half a muffin?!? We got home and I worked on some homework and put the kids to bed. My mom returned home a little while ago with the kid's costumes. We are now the proud owners of a Jasmine costume and a Davy Jones costume. The Davy Jones one had alot of parts to it! Hopefully, it is not too warm or ds will never be able to wear the whole thing!

now the worry for a mom begins.

just found out son's flight is delayed due to weather. it might take off at 9:11
if it is any later, son will miss his connecting flight out of dallas to mexico.

this is going to be a nail bitter time until i find out later.
going to check the website after 9:30.

if he missed the connecting flight, the next one available won't be until going on 9:00 tonight.

oh dear, and all he has is pesos on him, no dollars..............

Sk8leigh - I like what we do here at my work for birthdays - everyone is repsonsible for providing cake and treats for their own b-day, that way there's no "favoritism". I really works out that way!

Whew! I gotta go! It's literally raining here in the reference room! The ceiling is leaking.
