Mindy: The person who sent you the money paid by credit card. In order for you to accept that payment, you have to pay the $6.75 processing fee and upgrade to a premium account. Had that person just transferred from her checking to your Paypal, you'd be fine. Credit card processing costs money for everyone, including major retailers, but they pass that cost back to the consumer.

It's really not as hard as it seems once you use it once or twice. Just remember, if you use it again, tell the person, no credit card payments please!

Thanks!!

okay laast post from me today, i will be heading out as soon as my kids wake up. have a good day everyone and a good saturday!

Roseprincess and Mindy! Happy Birthday to both of you!

Mindy, that is so nice of you to organize this and put all that stuff on your cc. Paypal I am not familiar with, so when you are sure you will get tickets for me, let me know and I'll send you the check. Oh, and have a wonderful trip!
Sam- That letter and scenario are very scary! We went over (yet again) about talking to strangers. I wonder why it was not on the news?
DMM- No Kland here. I should be resposible and take care of going to Central Il and finding a vehicle. have fun and have some ribs for me!

EXTREMELY SCARY! That's the next subdivision over from me! And I got the scoop on how it "almost" happened this morning on the train. The Mom was in the garage cleaning and putzing around, the kids were up and down in front of the house playing and she looks up just in time to see her youngest son heading toward the open door of that car! She just started screaming, not really any type of words just NOOOOOO and *$#@!!($##! The car has Ohio plates!! You can read more about it at the New Lenox website.

This guy was going to take a little kid right in broad daylight in front of his own mother!

EDITED to ADD MORE:

Hey, also for us south burbers, there's a Cold Stone on Rte. 30 and Wolf Road in the plaza near Panera Bread (big plaza with Kohl's and Bed Bath & Beyond). No need to go to Orland or Shorewood, just stop in over in Frankfort. Also, just west of Wolf Road on the north side of 30 there is an Oberweis Dairy, which also serves ice cream and THE BEST non-fat milk you will have drink. You know how skim milk is usually watery and sometimes even borders on gray. Well Oberweis' is somehow just so good. I even asked, are you sure this is non-fat milk because when I head back to Weight Watchers, I want to make sure it's the right point value! I got back to WW this Thursday. I gave it up for the summer and boy does it show!! Had too much fun this summer!

Happy FRIDAY everyone. Wishes for a wonderful long weekend!!

Hey we heard about this story in Frankfort too!! Really scary when it happens this close to home.

I love Oberweis!! The only problem I have is I think they go out and milk the cows. :lmao: They are SOOOOOO slow. Never go to Oberweis if you are in a hurry....but it is YUMMY

YES!! I'm going to Frankfort Fest. Usually a bunch of us carpool and get dropped off. When we are done shopping, we call one of the husbands (depends on what size car we need) and they pick us and our stuff up. It works out well because you don't have to deal with parking (or pay for it). Have you ever been to the Fest, Jedi?

Will anyone be running the Scenic 10 in Park Forest on Monday? I'll be there. My hubby is running it! :Pinkbounc

I went a few times but didn't last year or the year before. I really wanted to go this year, but it looks like I'm going camping instead with my family.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! :goodvibes :cloud9:

Geffric and SamIAm- I guess I'm crossing to the other side, the good side! ;)

SamIAm- sorry to hear about the incident with the boy. Too scary!! I hope he didn't go in the car. It's a different world now than 15, 20 yrs ago :sad2:
I know I'm always paranoid someone will take one of my children. I do live in a very low crime area, nice area of the northwest suburbs, but you never know who lives around us that can abduct a child or is a pedafile :sad2:
I hope that boy is safe and ok.

Howdy!!

SamIAm Thanks for giving more details on that !! I was trying to figure out where that subdivision was but couldn't!!!
Luckily the mom was near by!!!!
I had no clue there was a Cold Stone by Kohls!!! When did that open?? I must be driving with blinders on again!!!
Oberweis milk.....yummy!! It's so good because there are NO hormones added to it unlike milk at the grocery store!!! :teeth:
When Hunter was a baby and was still drinking a ton of milk we used to get them delivered!!! YUM-O!!!

Jedi Halloween magazine??? That's nothing. Hunter spotted a CHRISTMAS magazine in the checkout at KMart this morning. :faint:
:rotfl:
Have fun camping!! Maybe next year we can plan on a bunch of us going to Frankfort Fest!! :thumbsup2

Mindy Have a wonderful time at WDW!!!!
Sorry your having so many problems with PayPal.
Did you already buy the tickets?? I will mail you a check if you PM me your address. :thumbsup2

I wanted to mention something that happened to Lauren at school today!!!

You're not going to believe this!! :sad2:

I get a call from the school nurse around 1:20pm stating that Lauren had thrown up at school but that she seemed fine, no temp. The nurse explains how she asked Lauren if she was nervous about something or upset that might have contributed to her getting sick. She tells the nurse she lost her favorite necklace which she did wear to school this morning. (It's a cute Ariel necklace that blinks.) The nurse puts Lauren on the phone and she tells me how she showed it to her new friend in her class, Jenny Lynn, and then put it back on. Some time later she notices it not on her neck. She panicks and gets upset. And then 5 girls help her look all over the room for it.
It's no where to be found. :confused3
She takes a bathroom break, and while she was in there got sick.
So off to nurse she went. The school rule is that if you throw up you have to go home. (As a side note, Lauren does have an easily upset tummy so the nurse now knows that Lauren can hurl easily!! )

BUT......while in the bathroom another friend from her class, Emily, asks her what she was looking for. Lauren tells her. The girl says "oh, I have that necklace". AND PULLS IT OUT FROM UNDER HER SHIRT!!!!

Lauren said to her "if that is mine you can tell me and I won't be mad".
(Very nice Lauren!! :goodvibes )
The "friend" says no and tells her some tall tale on where she bought it and so on.

So Lauren fills me in on all of this on the ride home.

I asked Lauren what she thought the likelyhood is that Emily has the SAME necklace AND WORE HERS ON THE SAME DAY!!! :furious:

Now Lauren gets really mad!!!! :furious: She doubted her before but when the girl went on and on about it, she believed her.

Luckily, I have the girl's HOME PHONE #!!! She was in Lauren's class last year, and gymnastics, and was at Lauren's b-day party last year too!!!!

I called her mom!!! :teeth: SHE WAS MAD!!! VERY MAD AT HER DAUGHTER!!!
I talked to her really nicely. She was very appologetic. And said she would be talking to Emily when she gets home (which should be right around now!!).
They will be coming over and Emily will be appologizing.
The mom said, obviously, that Emily didn't leave the house with any jewerly on and doesn't have an Ariel necklace either.

Lauren considered this girl a friend. And is mad that she lied right to her face!!
:furious:

Can you believe that a 3rd grader could be so mean and just tell such a huge lie??? She made my DD hurl for crying out loud!!!!
:furious:

Poor Lauren! What a nice thing she said to her "friend" though!
I have a hurl prone child, too. Remember he puked next to the Pop pool?

young girls are so mean to each other at times. I 'm glad that you called the Mom and she is doing the right thing. Bet her daughter won't seal stuff again..

Wow Bunchkins - that is upseting!! It sounds like your dd reacted physically to an emotional unrest!! I wonder if your school has a social worker where the 2 girls could talk privately with a trained professional - - your dd sounds like she has a huge heart, but she was attacked!! Our school has a nice social worker that helps kids thru stuff like this, nip it in the bud, and then they can learn better techniques to deal with jealousy, etc... and then maybe your dd can still feel comfortable being friendly to the thief!!

Anyone going to Irish Fest at Long Grove IL this weekend?????? DD dance troupe is step dancing Sat and Monday - I love the feel of Long Grove, but their festivals get so crowded!!!

Poor Lauren! And how yucky for you to have to make that call to the Mom! I'm glad her mom didn't also try to lie for her daughter.

Looks like I'm going to be busy this weekend. Maybe I'll actually get all that I need to do done and stay off the Dis so :bday: :cake: to everyone having a birthday and Happy aniversary Michelle.

Hope everyone's weekend is great! :sunny:

Bunchkin, I can't believe your dd's friend did that! :furious: Glad you called her mom. At least she'll get her necklace back, and the girl didn't get away with it.

Awww poor Lauren. Megan was really excited on our way home today telling me how she saw Lauren!! She thinks Lauren is very cool because she's a third grader ya know. :thumbsup2

Tell Lauren I am so sorry that happened to her. It's obvious the little girl liked the necklace and wanted to keep it. The green eyed monster must have gotten the best of her. I'm glad you were able to call the girls' Mom and straighten it out. This will be a big lesson for Emily!!

An update on the drama:

Emily's mom called while driving here to say they were coming. I guess it was about 4:15 or so. So that meant Emily had a good 1/2 hour of mom being mad with her. (She lives on the same street as the school, so she gets home from school right away.)

Emily came to our door, her mom was standing by the car watching and listening. She appologized with her head hanging low. Lauren thanked her for returing the necklace. And reminded her how she had given her the chance to tell the truth but that she didn't take it. The mom appologized again as well.

It's so sad when they have to learn the hard way! :sad2:

Lauren did tell me later that she did throw up AFTER she found out Emily had a "similar" necklace. So it really had upset her right away. :guilty:

paint I do remember you saying your son had thrown up by the pool. Poor kiddo!!!

SamIAm Emily told her she took the necklace because she liked it and it was very nice and that she wanted to keep it. :(

eeyore I think they have a new social worker this year. I'll have to check into it.

geffric Hopefully she learned her lesson and won't steal again. :thumbsup2

Thanks EVERYONE for your concern and comments!!! :grouphug:

I think Lauren also learned a few lessons from this experience as well.

One of them being, good thing mom never throws phone numbers out!! :rotfl: ;)

Bunchkin-Poor Lauren! I'm glad that Emily got taught a lesson though and that Lauren got the necklace back. Hopefully this kind of thing never happens again and i hope you're DD's tummy feels better!

Thanks Mindy!! Lauren was fine shortly after coming home!! :)

Are you done packing???
What time do you leave? Have a GREAT time!!! ::yes::

I'm done packing! I've never felt so organized in my life. This commando stuff is cool!

I leave tomorrow from Midway at 12:50. We'll get there at 4 with the time change. I have pretty much kept all my planning a secret from my mom. She doesn't know that we're getting picked up by a private car at the MCO, for example. It'll be a blast!

Not going to do ME??
I have put a car on hold just in case we change our mind, which we have 60% changed it to the rental. :teeth:
We have early morning ADR's a couple resorts and I don't think buses run that early. :confused3

So how did you plan your trip hour by hour??? pirate:
