My best friend is taking her DD to see the Princess Ice Show Sunday.

Although, I'm not sure if she would think we are loopy or not. I know she likes Disney but don't know if she is as obsessed as we are. Her in-laws live in Florida though so she gets to go much cheaper & more often than I do. :rotfl2:

My DD now has a 2nd part in Aladdin -- she's not only the Magic Carpet, she is also now a townsperson. :rotfl2: Apparently since she doesn't come in until page 50 of the show, they didn't want her sitting backstage forever by herself, so they stuck her in as a townsperson in the first act(s). Although, now she is pondering if that means she is going to have to do 2 costumes. My answer to that is probably.

I hope everyone is feeling well on here now. It's a crazy night for me with karate and now my older son is going to get tutored by a person at our church, but timing should be interesting! I have to take him to the church around 5:30 -- DS-6 gets out of karate at 4:45 & it takes about 30 min. to get to the church. :drive: Is it summer yet? :upsidedow

Great, now I have the Punky Brewster theme song stuck in my head! :rotfl2: "Everytime I turn around..."

Yeah, I think the gopher didn't have a name :goodvibes

I've got a few minutes before I need to go get Hunter from school.
I just came home from the grocery store and I'm freezing!! :cold:
Bring on Spring any time!!!:sunny:

slo I can't believe it!! I played the clarinet too!!
Marching band geeks UNITE!!! :cool1: :lmao:
Luckily Hunter doesn't mind being called Frodo! He thinks it's funny!! I also call him little man, Mr. Man, short order of fries, and Munchkin. Everyone has nicknames here! ;)

Donna Our trip is going to be spent the 1st half in Las Vegas visiting my in-laws and the 2nd half in CA going to DL and visiting Tony's sister and her DH. We will be in DL from 4-10 to 4-15. We got a great deal with the "Everyone plays at the Kids price" promotion Disney was having. DL has lots of good packages.
You could drive there in approx. 3 days if you really didn't want to fly. I'd take the Route 66 way and make a cool trip out of it!! :thumbsup2
Or seek really good meds from your doctor so you could fly!! :) Lots of people have to do this you know! :thumbsup2

Debbie I don't see the resemblance to Punky Brewster?
But that sure is a cute picture of all of you!! :cutie:

Well, I have to run and go get Hunter!

Have a great afternoon all!!! :wave2:

Believe it or not, I never saw any episodes of Punky Brewster - I have no idea why:confused3

Nope...but someone always thinks I look like someone...
USUALLY PUNKY BREWSTER!

I don't really see the Punky Brewster thing much, either, you look way more like my boss. I'll PM you a picture of her. ::yes::

I played the clarinet, too, although I was never in Marching Band. I only played in 6th and 7th grade. I would have played longer if I hadn't moved, but I didn't like band as much up here.

Donna - I'm not ignoring you about Stars on Ice. I just haven't decided yet! I'm not as into skating as I used to be, especially SOI. I do already have my tickets to Champions on Ice, though. 3rd row, center! :cool1:

Tiggerrn - I never said it, but I'm sorry about your cousin.

sk8leigh, you have pics of your boss? :confused3 You must like her! I have one of my boss, but I'd never publish it anywhere online :rolleyes1

:rotfl: No, actually, she has a web page, so I'm just going to get one from there. I would just post it here, but I feel kind of weird about that, so I'm going to do in a PM. (And actually, she wasn't my direct boss, but a couple of levels up. I did like her, though. And I showed Debbie's picture to my direct boss and she agreed there was a resemblence....And yes, I have worked today. :rotfl2: )

Nope...not me anymore!

I just got a call that really irritated me!

Lauren and I are attending a Leader/Daughter Girl Scout overnight trip this weekend. We've done a similar trip a few years ago at the same location and it was a lot of fun.

Tonight I get a call from one of the organizers stating that additional items need to be added to everyone's list of things to bring along. No big deal, they were small things.

But then she adds that because of the "overwhelming response to people wanting to come, cabins are filled to capacity and people have asked to bring air mattress and we are telling them there is no room for them all to bring one unless it's a medical issue"!!
And then she reminds me that there are "mattresses" there that can be used.
Now these mattresses are basically hard, exercise type mats in the shape of a twin mattress.

Now if you stick 2 of those side by side for each mom and daughter isn't that roughly the size of an air mattress!!!! :confused3 :headache:

DUUUHHHH!!! :rotfl:

I'm bringing my air mattress!! :lmao:

STUPID PEOPLE BE GONE!!!

Watch those marching band geek jokes.;) Yeah, one here too. Actually 2. DH and I both played the trumpet. We took 1st place for our division at UofI in 1980 in Field Marching. Loved that!!! Didn't care for the parades as much then, but now we both march in our town parade for the 4th of July.

Funny you nickname your kids. DS here is Bud and DD is Bean or Peanut.

Hope you are all doing well.
Debbie, I think you look like Soliel Moon Frye now. And that is a very much a compliment. I think she ended up really pretty compared to as a kid.

Becky, good luck to your DD. I hope she has fun performing in the play.

Thanks Leigh for your thoughts. The wake is tomorrow and funeral Friday. People around me can just stop now with this dying stuff. It's starting to give me a bad feeling. Creepy.:scared:
Well, you all have a good night. Talk to you tomorrow.
Hi Rosemarie and Hersey and Slo and Jedi and Mac and ......:wave2:

we should start our own band.

i played drums in grade and high school.......

I also played piano, from like first to sixth grade, and I would be much better at that than clarinet. But you can't march with a piano.

Besides, we just gave our piano to my friends in Indy. Their DD6 loooved playing it when she comes here. The last time they were here, she came in and said she wanted to do something, but she had to wait. I said she wanted to play the piano, and she giggled. (Her mom always tries to make her say Hi first. ) So then we're all talking, and out of the corner of my eye I see this little flash running through the foyer. So I ran after her, not because of the piano but because the Christmas presents were in there and I was afraid she'd tear into them and get in trouble.  But no, she went to the piano. Her mom is teaching her about music and notes for an hour on Saturday to get her ready for lessons, and she was upset that she wouldn't get her lesson this Saturday because it was her brother's birthday party. Her mom told her they could do the lesson on Friday. :rotfl:

Today is her brother's actual third birthday, and he was sick. Poor baby.

 Everyone!!!
And, do any of you have any suggestions for really, really dry winter skin?? I am about crazy with how dry the skin on my arms gets each and every winter!
Eucerin. It was Dr. recommended (OTC) when Kelly had something on her feet. :confused3

Nope...but someone always thinks I look like someone...
When we met, I said the same thing too, remember?? ;)

Hope everyone is feeling good, or better, SOON! :goodvibes

My bro & nephew were in a car accident today, RIGHT after we parted from the school party lot. :sad1: (Debbie, and others familiar with the Gino's Chicago/Rosemont, it happened at Higgins & Cumberland, right near the Kennedy). I guess they're both ok but slightly injured. Nephew was hurt by his seatbelt and the airbag and, bro hit his head. :headache: The car had to be towed. Thankfully, I guess they're ok. :goodvibes

Sandy, is the real estate market as slow in Indy as it is here? :confused3 I may only work 1 day this week - yesterday! While a 5 day weekend is wonderful - it doesn't pay the bills. :sad2:

Yawn......some mornings, it's just so hard to wake up

Leigh - Another Clarinet player :thumbsup2
**I also took 4 years of piano lessons, and I can still play a little when I'm at my mom's house :)

Bunchkin - That call would have really really irritated me too  Thank goddness you have an air mattress. I hope this doesn't spoil the trip for you and Lauren - it sounds like fun!!!! :cool1: Where's the trip at?

Tiggerrnn - That's great you played trumpet - it's a great insturment :thumbsup2

macraven - Your right, we could start our own band. What drum did you play? Or did you play all of them?

Kim - I'm so sorry to hear about your brother and your nephew :guilty: Thank goodness they are okay :)
**From what I understand from the other real estate agents, it is very slow. Many are getting very frustrated :headache: I'm sorry you are only working one day this week, that's very frustrating for you too :headache: .

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Morning.. It is cold out today or maybe it is the wind but waiting for the train this am was cold..

Have a great day..

I played a Flute in high school, can I join the band too?

Oh well back to work...

I played Clarinet in elementary school but ended up giving it up in favor of choir in middle school because I had to choose. I am such a choir geek-still am!

I used to idolize Punky Brewster when I was little. I always wanted to be just like her.

Kim so sorry to hear about your bro and nephew. I'm so glad they're ok!

Bunchkin thats cool that you call your son Frodo. I would enjoy calling my future son that too I think ;)

well good morning all Chicago and I hope you have a fab Thursday!

WOW!!! Our own band!! Cool!!! :cool1:

What should we name ourselves?? :rotfl:

I just don't think they took the time to realize that air mattresses take up the same space as the mats at the cabins.
And I would have never called to see if an air mattress was ok to bring. You'd be setting yourself up for them to say NO!! :rotfl:

The campground is an official campsite for our local Girl Scout Council.
It is called Camp Pokanoka and it is in Ottawa IL. Right off of I-80 just past Morris. It's about an hours drive away.
They will provide lunch, dinner, and breakfast on Sunday. Everyone attending either brings an appetizer or a dessert. There will be games, songs, crafts. Lots of fun! And it's just for Leaders and their daughters who are Girl Scouts in our Service Unit. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is trudging through the snow and cold!! Brrrrr!:cold:

I was in choir too!!

Frodo is a good name for Hunter! He eats like he's from the Shire (i.e. several meals a day), all his friends are small too, and he is very brave!! :goodvibes
And I really like the Lord of the Ring movies!!

Well that's it, this week officially STINKS!

I have had so many problems with my daughter's before/after school program. Earlier this week, one of the counselors at the school has had some type of mental breakdown. He came into the school ranting and raving on Tuesday afternoon, scared the beejeebers out of the kids. He was wearing face paint and walking around mumbling to himself. He was telling them he was a warrior of God and he was going to straighten the kids out. :scared1:

I have been on the phone with the before/after school program, the principal of the school, and I swear I will call the superintendent if I have too! This counselor has been relieved of his duties for two weeks w/pay and if it is determined after these two weeks that he's mentally stable, he will be allowed to come back to the program? I'm beside myself with anger and fear. I am going to have to find a way to rearrange my hours here at work in order to take her out of that program. It would just be until June, so hopefully they will be able to work with me.

I'm so worried this guy is going to try to find a way back into that school although the Ivy League program swears he will not. My boss is due back tomorrow and I'm going to talk with him about rearranging my hours, I'm not sure how, but luckily my company is very good about stuff like this and I might be able to work "something" out until June.

I've been fighting back tears of fear and frustration since this all came to light yesterday morning. I made DH call me the minute she was with him yesterday so that at least I could breathe and relax for a few minutes on the train yesterday afternoon. Yesterday was one phone call after another, after another.

So, I'll just be quiet now... I need a drink!!

:sad2:
