son was robbed and his life is in danger.

i'm trying to find flights for him to come home.

until i hear from him, i am just hanging here as there is nothing else for me to do at this point.

i hate having to even post this as everyone has their problems and mine are no greater than anyone else's here.

just keep us in your prayers please.

Its kind of you to think of others - its harder to reach out and accept the love, prayers and concern for ourselves.

Thank you for sharing, and do know, you are important, and I want to reach and offer what I can, and so I lift you and your son up in prayer... it is so powerful to be asked to pray for someone - to do something so simple, can be a powerful thing - May God hear our prayers, and send His peace to you and your son.

For those looking for holiday dresses, keep Kohls, and TJMaxx in mind too - I bought dd TWO dresses for $12 each!! One dress I adored, the other she did, when I looked at the price (and this after hitting the mall, Macy's, Carson's, etc) I grabbed both of them!!

Hope the weather holds for the Mag Festival of Lights!!

Has anyone done a spa treatment in Downtown Chicago? I've been thinking of doing this in February - I googled and see that Nordstroms has a day spa... actually this website has coupons, and reviews if anyone is interested (its for other areas of Chicagoland)

http://chicagobeauty.com/beauty_bargains.htm

but if anyone has experience, I'd like to hear about it! (I've never done a spa treatment, not massage, not facials etc...) I'm a spa virgin :lmao:

Hi everyone!!!! :wave2:

I thought I would drop by for a quick post before I get the girls ready for bed.

Today was a happy day at our house. Stephanie passed her Level 2 time test :cheer2: She worked so hard on this - we practiced every night. So to celebrate, I made her her favorite meal which is, fish sticks, mac & cheese, and corn. I also went and got her some Dunkin Donuts chocolate munchkins for breakfast tomorrow. Now, we get to start practicing Level 3 which is subtraction :thumbsup2

geffric - I will be staying at the frame store for awhile to generate an income to keep Katie in daycare 2 days a week. I need to keep Katie in daycare in order to go to the real estate office on Tuesdays, which is when the Realtors do home tours and then the broker/manager has an office meeting afterwards. This is not manadatory, but I do enjoy going and meeting my fellow Realtors :teeth:

Bunchkin - I'm sorry to hear Lauren isn't feeling well today :guilty: I'll send lots of PD her way to start feeling better soon :wizard:
**How's that new printer?

macraven - I'm glad to see you posting. I was going to PM you tomorrow to see how you were doing. I'm so sorry to hear about your son - many hugs to you and him   I will absolutly keep both of you in my prayers, and please keep us posted. We are always here for you - we luv ya!!! :grouphug:

HERSEY, Rosemarie, Leigh, Becky, Tiggerrnn & eeyore - :wave2:

Okay, I gotta run and take some things out of the dryer and get the girls ready for bed - have a good rest of the night everyone!!!! :grouphug:

Oh Mac I feel so bad for you! I too pray everything will work out soon. I just knew something was wrong when I didn't see your green light on Homie. I hope we hear good news from you in your next posts and I too will pray for your family.

On a much lighter note....
:cool1: Hi Everyone, Crazy days huh! Sounds like we are all always running around like crazy women!

My DD's birthday extravaganza has now come to an end so I can stress a little little less. I had immediate family over on Friday, other family on Sunday, and we were at Rainforest Cafe for lunch for a little friend party today. I didn't do Rainforest's party I just ordered off the menu a little potpouri of food for everyone. DD had fun so that was good. I still can't believe my baby girl is 4.

Now onto Christmas pix on Wednesday. My Mom buys DDs Christmas coat and dress and we found a beautiful one for DD at Macy's (and I had a bonus coupon for 10 bucks off!). My DS will be wearing a matching Polo sweater (just plain navy). The problem is I now need shoes by Wednesday. I am keeping my fingers crossed I'll find something tomorrow. It's very hard to find shoes to go with navy though.
And get this....I found a great fancy coat to match for DD at Costco!

For Thanksgiving we will just be doing the double deal and going to St Charles for half and Western Springs for the other half. It will be over two hours of total driving by the end of the day but that's how we do it. It kind of stresses me out but that's where the the Thanksgiving hosts on each side live.

I hope all of you stay healthy. The kids are getting flu shots on Friday which I know is going to be a major ordeal. I might have passed on it too if it weren't for the baby. My DD is going to be out of her mind when she realizes what I am up to. Plus, I have to figure out if I should get one myself and where. The kicker to it all is my DH's insurance doesn't pay for any shots! It will all be out of pocket. I usually go to Rolling Meadows for our immunizations but they told me they wouldn't be able to give me the flu shots there because I live in Chicago. They said I would have to go to Stroger hospital! :confused3

Did anyone else see Mickey on the news? I can't wait to see him next weekend! I hope the weather is nice for all of us venturing down there. Do those of you who live kind of far from the city ever stay down there for it? We can get down there pretty fast without traffic but I still have tossed around the idea of getting a room.

Well thanks for listening.......
I wish I could respond to all of you!
I hope all of you have a great week!
Debbie

its been a long day and calling it a night.

sweet sleep

excuse me.......besides rosemarie and her green light, i now see debbie is doing the same. come on girls, green light out, it's bed time..

macraven I'm so very sorry to hear about your son. :( I hope you are able to bring him home very soon. I'll be keeping all of you in my prayers.
Please keep us informed.

This has been the worst day. :sad1:

This afternoon, after returning home from Christmas tree shopping, Hunter took a bad fall. I didn't see what happened because I was in the powder room. But all I heard was screaming and crying from Hunter. I rushed out to find him on the couch wailing. He said he had fallen out of the kitchen chair.
I iced his arm right away for about 15 minutes. But he was still in great pain. He cried so much that he fell asleep for about 20 minutes. When he awoke, he said he was still in a lot of pain, which was obvious.
I took him to the hospital down the street. There was a 4 HOUR wait time!! :sad2: So we left and I drove to an immediate care center 20 minutes away. After taking xrays, they determined he has a supracondylar fracture in the bone above his elbow joint. He is going to need to be taken to our orthopedic doctor and be fitted for a cast. :( :(
I feel so bad for him. He cannot bend his left arm without being in pain. :worried: I'm hoping the pain subsides soon. I have no clue about broken bones, as I have never broken one myself. So I can't relate to what he has to go through. I just feel so sad for him.
He left the immediate care center wearing a splint and a little kid size sling. He was so upset when they put this on him, as he needed to have his arm bent and this of course hurts. He was screaming and crying so loudly, it was killing me.
At times while we where there the pain did seem to subside. But was aggrevated when ever he moved his arm or the doctor touched him.

I'm hoping we can get to see the ortho dr tomorrow. And that we won't have to wait. Tony already said he won't go in to work tomorrow so he can help take care of him and hopefully get him into the dr.
And tomorrow morning Lauren has a special breakfast/ reading with their parents at school.

I'd say this is probably greater than most people's problems! I hope your son is ok. I'll be praying for him!
I agree! This is far greater than my measly problems! {{HUGS}} and Prayers, mac! :grouphug:

Bunchkin,
So sorry for your son. I hope they can get him set quickly so the bone can start to heal correctly. DSIL waited too long when she fell and broke her little finger and ring finger, and by the time she had it set, it healed wrong, had to have surgery and the fingers are still crooked and she doesn't have proper use of them. Little kids are pretty resilient and heal well since much of their bone is still soft. Did they let you give him some Motrin for the pain? I sure hope he feels better soon. :grouphug:

Nicole, I FEEL your pain!! I do!!! I feel so bad for Hunter, too!!! The ortho will fix everything up good for him tho. :thumbsup2 He gets to choose a color for his cast, and sometimes they have stickers. ;) (Hey, go with the plusses, ok? :sunny: ) Matt broke his elbow back in 2nd grade. His 1st full day of school, at a NEW school. :guilty: They didn't know Matt yet and, thought he was emotional because of the 'change'. :sad2: 2 DAYS later, he was finally casted. It broke my heart. Like I said, I KNOW YOUR PAIN! :grouphug:

Bunchkin Poor Hunter :grouphug: I remember when I broke my arm. I did it in August there isn't a good time to break anything but at least he won't be sweating. Motrin and prop his little arm up on a pillow that helps.

Mac Continued prayers I hope you hear soon from your son. :grouphug:

Jedi :wave2: How have you been I hope everything is ok with you!

Slo Congrats to Stephanie and passing her timed tests :thumbsup2 I remember those days.

Kim Hope things are well with you also :wave2:

 To everyone I have to go drink more coffee and get in the shower.

Debbie6221 - I'm glad your DD had a nice birthday weekend :Pinkbounc Have fun taking your pictures tomorrow - we are doing ours the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

macraven - Continued hugs for you!!!!

Bunchkin - Nicole, I'm so sorry to hear about Hunter :guilty:  I can relate to what you are going through, because Katie was casted for dislocating her elbow when she was 18 months old. It's so sad to see your child in pain. Did you call your Pediatrician to see who he/she would recommend for an Orthopedic? I know my Pedicatrician has certain other doctors she likes to have her patients go to. Sending lots and lots of PD and hugs your way :wizard:  Please keep us posted on how he is doing - we are always here for you!!! :grouphug:

Jedi, Tiggernn, and Kim - :wave2:
