CHI flat iron??

I have straightened my hair with a professional flat iron (Solano Sapphire) for the past 7 years. I LOVE my flat iron and have only had to replace it once during that time... until now. The cord is shot and I was about to order another one but have been hearing about the CHI.

I love the Solano because it's much wider (2 1/4" vs. the CHI's 1") and it has a comb that works through my hair first but I have heard great things about the CHI. Does anyone have any opinions?

My Chi has to be about 4 years old by now and I still love it. Honestly I prefer the width of it, because that makes it much more versitile. Keep in mind my hair is halfway down my back when I say this too. It just allows for adding curls, flips, and other such looks that a 2" cannot allow for.

The newer ones apparently have heat adjustments on them, but I just have the standar Chi that retailed for just about $100. Great iron and holds up well

My hairdresser used a flat iron once on my bouncy hair and my children were so upset that I never did it again. My DS3 wanted to know where my hair went.

i don't know about where you live, but when i was in NY, i went to a salon in Queens (outside of NYC) and they do japanese straightening.. i never belived that my super curly hair could be perfectly pin straight without an iron. but it dries without any curl.. i LOVE my hair now!

My spa actually does that and I have considered it but I can't get myself to do it. I love using my flat iron because it takes me only about 20 minutes to do my hair and I have the option of wearing it curly if I want to.

Probably not... they run about $100. I saw one in Ulta though.

I got my Chi about 2 months ago from ebay. It was $70 brand new. (Seller's name is Panama Jack or something like that.) I am NOT the seller. Anyway I love it compared to my other (cheaper) Revlon flat iron. It's only 1" or so, but I like it better than the 2" one that I had (Revlon). My hair is very long and the 1" just gives better control. I still get the frizzies at the top of my head though. Can't get around that, but overall my hair is much better (straighter).
